OMG this was a good fish fry! Very pleasant setting with great waitstaff. Arrived before 6 on a Friday and enjoyed the cod fish fry. Both the beer batter and corn flake crust were very tasty. They even made a great gluten free version for a member of our party that called ahead. At the end of the meal our waitress accidentally dumped a plate of corn dogs we were hoping to box up for one of the kids. She copped to it immediately and hooked us up with a fresh order to go! Great job all around. We’ll be back and will tell our friends not to miss this place!

My wife and I often go here, the atmosphere is northern WI supper club. The fish fry is very good and you can chose the size portion that suits your appetite. We stopped the other night for a casual dinner my wife had the crab cake appetizer as her entrée and I had the prime rib sandwich, it was wonderful. Our server was great. I would give it 5 stars but I’ m one of those that there is always room for improvement, but not much here.

Best food around! We were there last night late we arrived at 9:15 and we were the last table served! We called to see if they would still serve a party of 8 and their response was sure, we will have your table set up by the time you get here! They were fabulous never rushed us and Amanda our waitress’s was so prompt! Three of us had the beef tenderloin filet! It was so flavorful and tender! Their carrots were super sweet and delicious! They also had a pecan crusted grouper that was to die for!

This is one of my favorite spots in West Bend. They have great food, drinks and service. It’s also a fun spot to hang out at in the warm months when they have bocce ball & cornhole leagues going!

My family has a cottage on Big Cedar and boating down to Timmer’s for a Friday night fish fry is an essential part of my summer. The food and service are both great but what I really love about Timmer’s is the beautiful setting complete with an outdoor patio and picturesque cabins. I’ve also been there for brunch buffet, which is delicious.

Great ambience with a lakefront view, definitely worth taking the short walk to the dock! We only had appetizers on this visit but we will definitely be back. The fried calamari was the best I’ve had, the Parmesan flavor is very rich so it was a large portion to split between the two of us but would be perfect for four. The spinach artichoke dip is served with baguette bread slices slightly toasted(in lieu of the usual chips) which was a much better compliment in my opinion. Great creamy flavor and very plentiful with the vegetables(you don’t see that often). Our server was not the most attentive but I think it’s a place to relax and slowly enjoy your meal so maybe that’s the speed she was supposed to be on. Great place to take people whom are visiting from out of town because it definitely makes an impression… looking forward to our next visit and will also keep this place in mind for special occasions.

We went there on Monday night for dinner. From everything that everyone had said about Timmers we were expecting a great time. Our server was not pleasurable at all. She brought the board of specials out and didn’t explain not one of them to us. I believe that for a guest experience that it is important to know what all entails in a special like what you get with it and what not. After ten minutes of sitting there she asked the men at the table what they would like to drink then started walking off without asking the ladies or my son what we wanted. If it weren’t for one of the gentleman at the table to get her attention the ladies wouldn’t have gotten a drink. Then she brought the men’s drinks first one by one and finally brought the ladies and my sons drink. I thought that was a bit rude. We put in our appetizer order we got crab cakes and pot stickers. The crab cakes were so tiny for an appetizer it was hard to share with a table of 5 people but we had no knowledge of that because our server didn’t tell us that. The pot stickers were actually really good. We put our order in for dinner after we had finished our appetizers which I believe a dinner order should be taken before appetizers are even brought out. I ordered the trout almondine which was a special. It was good a little overwhelmed with almonds but good. Then my son ordered Mac and cheese. His was the biggest portion out of everyone’s and he is 2 years old. And it was homemade. The men ordered the appetizer specials of New Zealand lamb with goat cheese which the first order was burnt and had to be sent back but when they came back they were good. They also ordered the yellow tuna special which was made well. Beef sliders were ordered as well but both commented saying not worth the price. All of these appetizers were served on a under priced iceberg lettuce salad. Which is weird to me. Then another of our guests ordered a salad because she is vegan so for $ 9 she got a small salad with canned oranges and like three strawberries and blueberries. For $ 9!!! That is sad. She was still hungry after that. The hostess had noticed that she wasn’t too satisfied with it and offered all of us free desserts. Out of everyone the hostess was the most personable and made our experience better. Our server didn’t even once check to see how our meals were or how we were doing. Then at the end she didn’t even collect our check or even say thank you! We still left her a tip but I didn’t think it was well deserved. After all the hype about this place I was expecting a way better meal and experience for myself and my guests and didn’t get that at all that it was almost embarrassing that I took them there. Hopefully they can step it up but I will not be returning. Sincerely An unsatisfied customer.

Had a wonderful dinner at Timmer’s. I had a perfectly cooked filet. My companions each had a different species and all said they were delicious. The Schaum Torte was killer and big enough for 4. The restaurant sits in the middle of a resort on Big Cedar Lake and it is beautiful. The main building was rebuilt on the same footprint and hasn’t lost the charming appeal. Ladies, the photograph in the Ladies Room is a crack up. Friday nights are crazy here but much calmer other days.

First, let me say that I’ve never heard of this place until today but I am so glad we found it. My boyfriend and I just had one of the best dinners we’ve had as a couple and we couldn’t be happier with everything. The food was excellent, we started with the spinach and artichoke dip appetizer which was so rich and creamy. It even had a bit of spice to it which was very nice. Next out was potato soup which was also very good with nice chunks of potato and well seasoned. We both ordered steaks and when I bit into mine, it literally melted in my mouth. It was a perfect medium rare which is just how I like it. I highly recommend this place. So good! We will be coming back again. Only open at night, and the atmosphere is romantic and relaxing.

A meal or drink at Timmer’s is a highlight of many of our adventures at Big Cedar. Although I disagree, I am not surprised by the occasional bad review for the service at Timmer’s, they have some personalities on their staff! However, we have regularly experienced service that is above and beyond including outdoor seating for a party of 15 people. Once after a day on the lake the hostess even threw a wet jacket in the dryer for us. The ambiance is worth a moderate wait, in the meantime take advantage of the rolling lawn, the bocce ball courts, the bar, or even the wading area down at the lake if you’re coming with kids. The bar offers a variety of beers on tap and a nice wine list. The menu is upscale compared to anything else you’ll find on the lake and the prices reflect that, come when you’re feeling like a nice meal and splurging a bit. My recommendations include the Chicken Wellington and the hand breaded fish fry, although the entrée menu changes. I definitely need to try out the brunch!

This place is great! I have ate in the bar on numerous occasions and the service and food is always excellent. I recommend their potato leek soup and salmon dish. I have had a couple of appetizers in the past… crab cakes and eggplant strips and those were tasty as well.

We enjoyed Timmer’s very much. It was very decorative outside and very cozy and country setting inside. The bar area has a real fire place burning. The service we had Saturday night was excellent. Both the bartender and our waitress were very good. I thought the food was average though. I had the Prime rib special and it wasn’t the greatest I have had. Was a little chewy and not much flavor. We also had the crab, that was very good. They also brought out a free dessert and sang happy birthday. Was very nice… Again great service and great environment.

I was really hoping to find a good fish fry in town this visit. Man o man o man was I disappointed. The whole meal was a bust and the service was subpar at best. We were ignored. Simple things like refilling our drinks, must have been above them that night. I understand that they are very busy, but they are also very well staffed. To be honest, I am not sure why this place fills up on a Friday night as both their service and quality of cuisine really left me with a strong desire never to return. I choose the Perch as it is my favorite fish fry friend. The Perch overcooked and tasteless. My wife went with the cod, the cod salt laden and actually not edible. My dad went with the walleye grenobloise which was done all wrong and tasted off and awful. I was really let down coming here and I will not be back and would not recommend this place.

Timmers is a great restaurant. My husband and I have been there several times and have dined both inside and outside. This visit we docked our boat and enjoyed lunch on the patio. Every time we’ve dined outside the service was less than stellar and this visit was no exception. We arrived right when they opened and a very upbeat, friendly girl greeted and sat us. Our waitress on the other hand, was not very friendly or attentive. It’s not like they were busy, we were the only table seated outside. This will not keep us away, Timmers has great food and atmosphere.

Waitress said it was her first night, so we were understanding. Food was excellent(swordfish and walleye), then we noticed, after finishing our food that other tables were offered soup or salad with their we entrée. Also we were never received any bread. Upon pointing this out to the busboy(busgirl?), another waitress came over and apologized and said our waitress was new. Who puts a new waitress on an evening shift without proper training or supervision? Comped us desert, but this is a bad reflection on the restaurant.

This review is for Sunday Brunch. Limited selection of items, but what they had was good. Nothing out of the usual, just omelets, bacon, potatoes and some noodles and beef tips. No chicken or other meats. Great atmosphere though. Because of such a limited offering I would not make the drive out for the Brunch again.

The salmon was fabulous ! Served on a cedar plank with a chardonnay chive cream sauce. Red country wild rice and stemmed broccoli. Great wine list as well. Friendly staff and great atmosphere.
