Bob’s Barber Shop

Bob and his aide –de-​camps are friendly and helpful, although lacking a cheval glacé it is a well equipt shop adorned with the latest objet d art. The genre of haircut is early fin de siecle which matches the local’s taste and style. The faux humor of the staff is a result of folie a deux a charming side show while one waits for their haircut. Bob’s is an old fashioned barber shop located in the Sweetbay Shopping Center at Old Pasco Road and Highway 54. Nothing fancy. No stylists. Barbers. The owner is as friendly and down to earth a guy as you will ever meet. I hadn’t gone there for a while, but went back the other day and was lucky enough to get my hair cut by Bob.
I was greeted when I came in with a smile, got an excellent haircut, and even a straight razor neck cut. (yeah, they still do that!) Bob and the other stylists (oops, I mean BARBERS) are all professionals with many years of experience, and the place is well run. Be aware, however, that Bob’s is cash only. You will never find a better barber or a better cut for $ 15 plus tip. And just listening in while you’re waiting for a cut can catch you up on all the news in Wesley Chapel that didn’t make the paper.
Even though I arrived feeling a little downhearted, I left with a smile on my face and looking and feeling good. It’s an old school place, but if you like barber shops, you’ll love Bob’s.
