8÷20÷15. Good Unilocal review, so decided to try. Spanish Shrimp, Guacamole. The Guacamole was like IKEA, you had to put it together yourself, peeled avocado, chopped tomatoes, onions, peppers, all separate on plate. No flavor even with plenty of salt & lime. The spanish Shrimp was supposed to be grilled with Bacon, supposed, not actual. It was fried to make the bacon crisp, which destroyed the 25⁄30 count shrimp. More like Shrimp chips. Very disappointing. There are so many great Mex Food restaurants, sorry this isn’t one.

They took forever to bring us our food. The waitress was rude and served people that got there after us. We weren’t even offered a refill. The food’s not worth the wait and the bad customer service.

Ok so living outside of the valley for almost four years all I could think about was the botana platter that they serve in this place. I could not find anything that came close to it while I lived in Austin. Talk about great taste and real value! Bring your appetite and some friends because they serve it! I usually get chicken and beef fajitas but this last time I got shrimp and fish and it was so so delicious. A botana for two fed a group of three adults and two children! The atmosphere is nice, yes the service is hit and miss but it really doesn’t bother me so much because the star of this place is the botanna platter.

Horrible service! Took forever for my husbands beer to be served and NEVER received my margarita! Our server never came to refill our water glasses and didn’t bother even asking if we would like more chips. The table behind me was left with dirty plates for nearly our entire time there during the early evening. As per my husband the men’s restroom was very dirty and reeked of urine. I did enjoy my marisco soup and fajitas were good. That’s the only reason I gave two stars. Bottom line, don’t waste your money or time.

Great place they’re 2 person platers are enough for 4 it is cooked great and has amazing flavor, soups are good too. Staff does an okay job. Prices seem high until you realize how much food they give you. I have eaten here since I was little and it is a great place I highly recommend it to anyone

Not a bad place overall. Having been to a few places in the area, Ciro’s is definitely one of the best I’ve had. Let’s start with the food. It was quite impressive. The salsa they bring to start the meal is very good, and they keep it coming throughout. We ordered some guacamole, which was also great. They give a pretty good amount, so definitely for some sharing, even though I didn’t do too much of it :-). My main course was the cheese fundido with barbecued shrimp. I was expecting a normal sized skillet, as many places use for their appetizers. Think again! It was an entire platter of the gooey-deliciousness, then about 50 shrimp on top of it. This stuff was seriously good. I was only able to eat about half before my arteries and stomach started to shut down, but every bite was worth it. Drink wise, I had a Mexican beer. One thing that is lacking, is they don’t have a full bar, just beer. As a beer fan, I have no issue, but others in our group were let down quite a bit. Prices were pretty good, overall. I would say my biggest complaint was the service. The waiter came once, when half of our party was there, and we asked him to come back. Then he basically just forgot about us until we had to ask another waiter to send him over. Once he was there, he was alright, but seemed agitated that we didn’t want to wait any longer, not like 20 minutes was a lot or anything, right?

The tea, chips/salsa and soups are good, but it’s overpriced, especially for how unhealthy the majority of the menu is. They’ve been cited countless times over the years. A waitor once admitted to us that they do sometimes re-fry oysters/shrimp left over by other customers and reserve them. I’ve heard other horror stories from the kitchen as well. Beware!

This is a great restaurant, with authentic Mexican food. Used to be in the Palm Plaza but since moving here the food is excellent. It’s hard to rate Mexican Food Restaurants in the RGV because there are so many of them but this one is great.
