First time I have been to the restaurant. Never heard anything about it before stopping today. The food was excellent as well as the service. Price was very reasonable as well. I will be back as soon as I can. Highly recommend.

Everything is too expensive. Guess who’s paying rent on the location: you are. Check the menu before going. Had the chicken enchalada suezas. Nothing special and not worth 12 bucks. Tired of these places that boil chicken without vegatables and don’t spice it. Then roll it in raw tortillas and call it an enchalada. Tomatillo sauce doesn’t have any onion, garlic, or cilantro in the blender. Squirt some crema across it and you got this bland crap. With a beer for $ 4.50 I gave away 20 bucks. I had better Mexican food in Michigan!!!

If you cannot or won’t go your Nuevo Progresso to eat at Arturo’s then you must come here. The food is great and the new location is great as well.

First time here. I made it just ahead of the lunch crowd. Staff were friendly and courteous. I ordered a simple lunch of soup and a sandwich or lonches. I was served a small tortilla soup with melted cheese and tortilla strips with 2 small lonches. One word-delicious! The sandwiches or lonches were made with a thin bread, seasoned ground meat, lettuce, tomatoes, sliced avocado and queso fresco. The bread was thin enough to not be too filling and the avocado and queso were fresh toppings. The soup was served hot and tasted homemade. I gave four stars because I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and will be back again to try their specialty dishes.

great food. very delicious. I loved the nacho’s, and the flounder. I think its tops in the area. Seriously when I making a list of reasons to go to the valley for business literally as I am going down the pro list one of them is «Well I get to go eat at Arturo’s.»

As far as atmosphere and staff, You couldn’t ask for better. I had the Arturo plate, which consists of 2 tacos, 2 tamales, an enchilada, and rice and beans. None of the items are worth talking about. The gravy was terrible and the beans had an «after taste» that calls for an immediate drink. The only good experience was the ice cold Dos Equis on draft, and I can get that anywhere.

Great! Great! Great! Delicious, well portioned meals. Beautiful facility. The food is SO fresh. My family had a variety of dishes including the goat. For dessert we had tres Lechase cake and the flan. Both were delicious.

We came here on a Saturday and what a disappointment!!! We were both craving enchiladas and I almost wish I didn’t !!! We ordered the enchiladas banderas. When the plates came out they were warm to the touch but as we proceeded to eat, the food was cold and that’s when I realized they were only warm because they were put under the broiler to melt the cheese. We ate about half before we both said to one another we will never order this again. We both agreed it was cold, bland and fishy. Needless to say our server never return once the food was brought out. I feel bad because he seem like he was totally overwhelmed on the bar side. He clearly needed help and he wasn’t getting it. After 20 minutes of waiting the host finally came by and asked«how was everything«and we mildly told him how we truly felt. He apologized and said he wishes«we would have said something sooner ». Well I’m sorry I couldn’t say something because our server was nowhere to be found and quite frankly I don’t know how you could make a dish any better that was already lacking in all areas. What was disappointing most of all was having to pay for a meal less than average. I hope management actually steps in and handles situations like this next time they arise. As per going back to Arturo’s I highly doubt it. I give one star for the ice tea and the complimentary flour tortilla chips and salsa.

With two other couples we decided to eat at Arturo’s on a Saturday afternoon. Our decision was based on the reputation from their location in Progresso. We were very disappointed. First of all, it took five minutes after we were seated to get a menu and then awhile to get our drinks. Once we placed our order, it took over 35 minutes to get our meal, all of which were Mexican food. The enchiladas were cold when served, the beans tasted flat. I had the Arturo plate and was somewhat pleased. After dinner, it took another ten to fifteen minutes to get our check. The disappointment is due to the other good reviews we say on the food and service. Overall we were not pleased and for the price, we feel we can do better elsewhere. This is too bad because we have out of town guest coming this weekend, but we will not take them there. Too bad since all else in Weslaco are chain places.

Very similar to the Arturo’s in Progresso. Excellent service. Very extensive menu, so much so, I had a hard time choosing. We started off with the botana platter with fajita meat. It was excellent but don’t order unless you have more than two. It is huge. I had Diego’s fajita roll. A little dry but great flavor. Others at the table had the chimichanga, shrimp Alejandro, & tacos de la calle. Everyone was quite satisfied with their orders. You can expect to spend around $ 25 per person by the time drinks are included. Will definitely go back as soon as I have the chance because there are other items on the menu I want to try.

Good food. Had the Arturo plate. Cheese enchilada, two tamales, two crispy beef tacos, rice & beans. Had queso as a starter. Don’t waste your time unless you like bland melted cheese. No veggies in it. Now the salsas were both great. The green has a kick to it. I thought the tamales were just ok. The enchilada was good bathe tacos were great. Décor is nice. Staff was SUPER attentive and friendly. Would have given 4 stars if the queso hadn’t been so bleh.

Arturo’s new location in Weslaco, just off Expressway 83, had about $ 250,000 contributed by the city of Weslaco to move there. Wonder whose palms got greased??? This is the first time I have ever eaten at Arturo’s. There is one in Nuevo Progreso, which many people have told me about, but whenever I went in there, there was nobody in that restaurant, and prices were too high. So, went on a date to this one a few months back, during high school prom night. It wasn’t too full, but the restaurant is very big, with many rooms. We sat in the room with the bar. Waiters dressed in butler uniforms. Decent service from them. Restrooms not very clean. They brought the usual chips and salsa, but it was not very good. I ordered my favorite, chicken tacos. My taco plate had rice on it, and some beans. The rice was the worst I have ever had! How can such a «famous» restaurant serve such lousy rice? The rice in NP is always perfect, down to every last grain. The beans were scooped into the barely-filled tacos, not worth eating on their own. I would never eat there again. I would never bring out of town folks there. If I want to impress folks, I go to Casa de Mariscos, or Monterrey. Always excellent food and service at those places.

Upscale look with moderate prices. We stopped for lunch and found the food was quite good… tried the avocado pico appertizer which we all loved. Had the shrimp enchilladas as an entrée. Also quite tasty. Services was excellent and incredibly attentive/friendly. Recommend!

The food is good and the prices are good. The mango margarita was awesome. Happy hour is weekdays 4 to 7. This is a great place to bring family from out of town who aren’t used to valley food as it’s more gringo friendly.
