The folks that work at this florist are not very customer oriented. I have been treated rudely in the store more than once. The last time I was there I stood at the counter for 5 minutes and finally had to summon someone from the back to wait on me. The woman saw me out there but never came out on her own. I called there today and waited on hold for 10 minutes before finally hanging up.

My son spent $ 80 to send me flowers for Mother’s Day. What arrived from Dunn’s Florist in Wentzville, MO was a miniature-sized, humiliating handful of three wilted daisies and three cheap pink-tipped carnations which were literally crammed into the tiniest 5-inch vase I’d ever seen. The cup of crap was delivered Saturday after 6:30PM and left with a neighbor two doors down. It was nothing remotely like the large and colorful bouquet of lilies and roses selected from the photo. When you pay close to $ 100, you should expect a human-sized vase of flowers, and get what you’ve paid for. The appearance was absolutely embarrassing. There is no excuse for something so cheap, tacky and ugly to come from a florist. The saddest part was my son was out a paycheck and I still had no flowers for Mother’s Day! We are extremely disappointed and feel completely ripped-off. The«bouquet» was the size of a miniature espresso cup. I went to Dunn’s in person to show the owner if a few carnations strangled into a mini glass was what they considered an acceptable $ 80 bouquet? The mgr said after shipping costs, the $ 80 flower order becomes a $ 20 order. Well, if that’s the case, then Dunn’s should inform the consumer, that in reality, an $ 80 bouquet order will arrive as $ 3 of tiny leftover scraps — 3 carnations, 3 dying daisies. With $ 20 bucks, I can buy six huge colorful bouquets of fresh, long-stem, gorgeous flowers at Trader Joe’s or Walmart. A professional florist would not find what they sent me suitable for a mouse’s funeral. We will never purchase flowers online or via photo again. Lesson learned.

I’m very upset; I ordered the arrangement on the left in the photo and received the dinky one on the right. I was in tears when I saw how small the arrangement was; I paid $ 79 for the arrangement and a balloon! It’s barely 8″ tall & has only 6 roses while the photo shows over 12. No refund or accommodation made other than an offer to pick up the old one, and drive it back over later, which the owner agreed would make for an awkward situation. I’m very upset about this; it seems like bad business to not deliver what’s promised, to be rude when I called and to only offer to drive over, pick it up, drive it back to the shop, then drive it back to my husband AFTER it was to be delivered as a gift. After talking to several friends, apparently Dunn’s does this all the time… promises more product than they actually deliver. A friend ordered flowers for his wife’s birthday, the same thing happened. Another friend used them for her wedding and was so disappointed that she spent the day in tears. After emailing and talking with the owner, I received no email back and the rude service I got over the phone was deplorable. I own 3 companies of my own and bend over backwards to please my clients; many have become friends because of our consistent stellar customer service and outstanding product. I will not use Dunn’s ever again and will be sure to make sure that the entire event industry that I work in is aware of their practices.

I miss Wegman’s floral department. [Watch out Schnucks and Dierbergs and even Whole Foods — when Wegmans breaks out of the northeast …] Anyway, I drive by Dunn’s frequently, while plying the Pearce thruway ‘across town’. The other day I needed roses … no, to celebrate a good thing, not to apologize for(another of many) mistake. So, I bit. Small space. Lots of decoration stuff [that I don’t fully comprehend]. Small cooler with a few pre-arranged bouquets. What I learned is that these folks are about asking questions, and exceeding expectations with good quality flowers. My simple rose arrangement was simple by design. The flowers lasted for many days. I did good. [fist bump] Appropriately enough, immediately next door is a Hallmark store, where I picked up the obligatory greeting card. Nice one-two combo. Interestingly, I don’t know that they actively cross-sell — that seems like a no-brainer for synergy.
