The parade was cute, if you’re into Americana and«small-town» excitement. Steer clear of the food fair at lunchtime… Memorial Park was jam-packed with people, and the vendors charge exorbitant prices(for example: $ 9 for a piece of pita bread with some sort of dressing and iceberg lettuce poured in it).

The police come from all over the state for the big apple blossom weekend. They ride bicycles, they have unmarked cars, they have police in street clothes, they have volunteers and they even have the court house open 24 hours this weekend and you have to pay your ticket before you leave town. Have a safe and happy appleblossom weekend!

I’ve been in Washington for a decade and believe it or not, this was my first time hearing about the Apple Blossom Festival! I told people I was going and they were all up in my junk about — Oooo, so lucky! You’ll have such fun! After a 2.5hr drive up to Wenatchee(fairly nice day), I made it to the festival. I should preface and say that I was there on one of the last days of the event. And I only went to one area… place where there was a small stage and lots of vendors. I don’t know. I was a little let down. I had Greater Expectations for the thing than what I saw. To me, it seemed like your basic run of the mill city fair(tons of local vendors, local musicians, and VERYVERYVERYVERY expensive food — I mean c’mon — $ 6.50 for a piroshki and $ 2.50 for a small bottle of soda!!!). Anyway, I am now, NOT an Apple Blossom Virgin — for better or worse.
