For whatever reason when I visit — I feel like I’m about to enter a Tupperware party hosted by nuns or food made by a person with no mouth, eyes, or nose. Everything is just boring and blah. Speaking of nuns; I think this place actually is a recruitment centre for the nunnery. Any way you look at it I plan to avoid eating here again like a nun avoids(insert three letter word… oh forget it… SEX…you knew which word).

Love this place, used to eat here all the time, only reason I stopped was because I found out I was allergic to wheat and gluten, but literally almost cried when I realized I couldn’t eat here, literally the best sourdough I have ever had in my life, favorite sandwich is the turkey pesto.

Best sandwich in town! The staff are great and the sandwiches are always stuffed with plenty of meat. And did I mention the fantastic sourdough?! Don’t bother with Subway — they’ll skimp on the important ingredients and they never do that here.

SFSE is great. Their food is fresh and quick. Their staff is helpful and remembers regulars. The sourdough bread is warm and delicious and their meat is sliced for each order. Their catering is great and they definitely go the extra mile.

For a fast and tasty lunch that includes salads or soups served with fresh sourdough bread the San Francisco style sandwich shop is the place to go. Something along the line of a subway on steroids, the food is prepared quickly with freshly sliced, quality meat, and served on their fresh sourdough bread. Don’t confuse this with a fast food place, though… I’ve had sandwiches in restaurants that didn’t measure up to these standards. Be prepared for a little crowding if you eat in but it’s comfortable and convenient.

Once again, I find myself reviewing new places. I was almost certain I was going to settle on pizza for lunch, but surprise, surprise! What an unexpected change! Seeing it was my first time at the San Francisco Sourdough Eatery, some of you might think I’m being a little harsh on this one. I mean, a three star rating, seriously? I’m just as baffled too! At first, I was a little hesitant on what to order, but thanks to the friendly staff, I was filled in on the menu and ordered an Italian Dry Salami in a combo. The sandwich was composed of swiss cheese, thinly sliced lettuce, tomatoes, onions, mayonaise, mustard, a pickle on the side, a bag of chips and a fountain drink. Apparently, the Turkey & Salami is a favorite. I’m not much of a turkey fan, therefore I ended up with a simple salami sandwich. The bread is really crunchy by the way. It’s like Captain Crunch, and I cut the roof of my mouth, just a little bit. Despite great flavor, something was missing about overall everything? In other words, I can’t quite put my finger on it. I can the least say, I’m sure all the sandwiches are great, but I find many of you might not be overall impressed. I don’t know? Something along those lines. I guess I felt San Francisco Sourdough Eatery is missing some sort of wow factor. Will I go back? I’m sure, just don’t ask me when?

If you love sourdough bread as much as I do… this is where you need to try! They are located in the Harley Center, on the corner next to Little Caesars Pizza. They serve sandwiches, soups, and salads… a nice place to go especially for lunch. My favorite seems to be the Garlic Pesto, but the bread itself is what make is extraordinary!
