I went to Dr. Melton for several years. Recently, he decreased the number of hours his excellent hygienist worked to the point where she had to leave, apparently to make room for a younger and cheaper model. I didn’t agree with this and I left. During the first visit with my new dentist, he said I needed a root canal and 3 amalgams removed. I was shocked when he showed me the digital films documenting small cracks around the amalgams. In conversation with Dr. Melton’s staff, I was given to understand that Dr. Melton’s approach is «conservative.» To me, this is borderline negligent. Perhaps if he wasn’t distracted by self-inflicted staffing problems, which apparently are worse now, he could focus on his work.
