Second time, same rude manager, short dude with the beard. Apparently they were in a hurry to close, being 3 minutes past closing. Being rude to ever costumer over the intercom. Probably the last time I set foot in the place. I honestly feel sorry for the owner, has no idea their store is being ran by rude disrespectful employees.

This place has pretty much everything you would want in a music and book store. There not only is a huge collection of collectables and items in the store, but they offer such a wide variety of materials that are not just books and music, you can pretty much go here and there is a good chance it will be there. The store is also big so there is plenty to look at. The prices are reasonable and the service seems friendly. I wished there was one of these stores in my hometown because I would be here all the time. They even have an online store as well so you can look on there.

Great store for meeting friends, getting coffee or just hanging out. Lots to see and keep your interest. Plenty of good deals on products from books to video games. Pleasant, helpful staff and a great selection of printed media make this the best place in town to look for gifts and books.

My favorite place here!!! This place is great. Books, games, great coffee(after two times the barista knew our order), cheap new movies and tv shows, and all kinds of geek and nerd stuff. Loooove it here!!!

Hmmm. Never had a problem finding the book of choice here. Great selection, easy pickin’s, super magazine and news section, and coffee to boot. Service is available if I need or want it, but I know how to find a book. Nice Christmas selection this year!

I read the other reviews and hear others talk and get the impression people like Hastings because it’s the only place they can go in Wenatchee to get books. I must be tougher to satisfy when it comes to bookstores because I’ve yet to go to Hastings and find exactly the book I’m trying to find. The children’s section is always a mess and the selection is quite poor. I’ve tried to buy gifts here several times and beyond a bent and dirty copy of «Goodnight Moon», the selection was subpar to say the least. Every creative and innovative children’s book I wanted to buy was unavailable. The selection throughout the rest of the store was average at best — again, I’ve never found any of the books I’ve been looking for, but the comparable books are usually based on TV shows or highly prolific authors only. Disappointing if you’re looking for something unique or slightly different, because you’re likely not to find it here. The staff: I’ve never — I’ll repeat this: NEVER received good service in the book department. I’ve been ignored on more than one occasion and I’ve even had a woman shoot daggers from her eyes as I hesitantly walked toward her during her personal conversation(she did stop talking long enough to give me a curt response to my question, her smile only returned when she was able to return to her friend). The check stands appear to be staffed with young people with average knowledge and experience. I’ve minimal experience with the music department, but I have fared slightly better in the DVD department. I have had people give me able assistance on occasion and actually smile as I pass. I have been able to find what I’m looking for easily enough there. Bottom line — If you’re looking for DVDs — Hastings isn’t a bad place to go, I stop by on occasion to see what they have, but if you’re looking for books, call or drive over to Leavenworth(A Book for All Seasons hires people who loves books and they actually know they’re there to help you), try Chelan —(Riverwalk Books — again, knowledgeable and helpful staff!), or go to one of the two used bookstores in town(Odd Hours Books — East Wenatchee, or Amanda’s –downtown Wenatchee). And if all else fails — shop the big independent bookstore, Powells, online! Just don’t bother with Hastings unless they realize that success means a lot more than being the only place in town.

I actually have an easier time finding new books to read here than I do at Borders or Barnes & Noble, which don’t often utilize their endcaps or display tables well(or honestly. I’m sick of seeing«Twilight» on the«New» books table — it’s been out for years!) The magazine selection is very impressive, especially for a small town store. I can find every magazine I look for at a Seattle Barnes & Noble or Borders. The categorization of magazines is also well done, making it easy to find things. There’s a bit too much candy and toys here — I’d rather have more shelves for books! — but if that’s what they need to do to make the bottom line, ok I guess. The layout is great, and I like that they have the music and DVD section in its own place so the noise doesn’t disturb book browsers.

I LOVEHASTINGSWITH A FIERYPASSION. This place is the bomb. Honestly, if you’re going in there looking for something specifically, half the time they won’t have it. However, I find that the way they’re laid out makes it easier to browse more than most bookstores, so I usually end up buying books I’ve never heard of anyways. Music selection is right on, as long as you aren’t looking for something used. Magazine selection is great, they even have some hip, British magazines that I’d never even heard of before. Hastings is always just such a warm and inviting place, it’s opened my eyes to new genres, and every time I’m there I just want to curl up and relax.
