I was visiting Wellsboro with my boyfriend because this is the town my parents married in. It’s naturally just a special town for that reason, but also because I have visited Peggy’s each year since I was a young child and have fond memories of being so excited to come to this candy store. It’s like a candy shop right out of the movies, with mouth watering chocolates and candies galore. I love the feel of this place and the vibe you get when you walk in the door. The employees are fantastic and were so very down to earth. They helped us with directions and served us the best maple fudge and Hershey’s ice cream! Great service, great sweets, and great atmosphere. Definitely a Wellsboro favorite.

I was there the other day to take the kids for a couple of cones and as usual we had great service. We noticed they have other things in the store that are definitely yummy looking so we will have to be back ASAP for those! We also love to stop by after school with our nickels and dimes for their candy! Love the atmosphere which is calm and quiet and almost old-timey. This is a fun stop when traveling with kids!

This candy shop is right on the main st in Wellsboro. They have a great selection of stuff and they will let you try anything you want which is great! They have decent flavors of ice cream to try. They use Hershey’s ice cream which is pretty good. If you are in the area and have a sweet tooth this is the place!

Down home service for everyone living or visiting Wellsboro. When we strolled past this quaint ice cream shop/candy store and peered in we knew we would be in for a treat. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by an employee asking how they can help you. At first we just wanted Hershey’s ice cream, but we were allured by the candy isles and roasted peanuts. When you go in the back for ice cream don’t feel scared to ask for a sample or two. They are happy to provide you a small spoon to try the cold tasty delights. What else is cool, is that there are 5 types of cones ranging from plain to waffle.(I picked waffle because you only live once.) As for the ice cream, it’s Hershey ice cream so you can’t go wrong with any of them. I went for chocolate chip mint. My wife ordered maple walnut, the chocolate chip mint was of course better. They also have soft serve vanilla and chocolate for the non adventurous types. Oh and if its around 3 – 3:30 you might have to wait a bit due to the after school ice-cream/candy«rush» of the local kids being released from the local schools. Overall this is a fun place to «chill» at while you are relaxing any day of the week.
