Meh, I kept trying to convince myself that this is a good brunch choice. It’s just ok. Never impressed but not overly disappointed. Just ok.

I’m torn with the rating because the last time we had breakfast here it was outstanding. My husband and I spent the weekend in Ogunguit and we knew eating here was a must. I ordered the blueberry crêpe — it should be renamed the«lazy man’s crêpe». Any crêpe I’ve ever eaten was rolled and filled with berries of some sort. Not this one. Yes, one is all I got. Again, usually an order is 2 – 3 crepes. Anyway, the bowl was filled too much with fresh blueberries. It was definitely overkill. I should have asked for a blender so then I would have a smoothie to go with my meal. The blueberries were on the bottom of the plate and the crêpe was placed on top. And it was not hot, more on the cooler side. Really? Such a lame way to serve/present this crêpe. So I was not happy. Hubby ordered the blueberry stuffed french toast. I could see how hot it was by the steam coming from the toast. Boy was I jealous of that. He thought it good, although he would have prefered the toast cooked more on the crispy/firm side. Because it was stuffed with cream cheese and maple custard, it was soggy. Next time we are in the area, we will go back, but I will stick with the tried and true egg dishes.

So how does a review drop from 5 stars? Went in for lunch at noon and grumpy hostess says ‘sorry we won’t be serving lunch for another 45 minutes.’ BTW, they close at 2pm. I love their lunch menu especially their salads, but changing their menu availability on the fly is not professional. It’s a business not somebody’s personal kitchen!

I’m giving them 4 stars for their breakfast. If you want an amazing breakfast stop here. I’m giving them ½ a star for service. If you want friendly service then this isn’t the place for you. We have been coming here for breakfast at least twice a year for the past 10 years. We come because the breakfasts aren’t just the same old pancakes and eggs. They have a great menu with a huge selection. Now back to the service… I went in to inform them of a larger party because I know it’s small Inside. The woman seemed like she was put out by our larger number of people(which was 10). She told me that it would be at least 30 minutes if they split our party up. Almost as if she were trying to discourage us from waiting. When we were seated we requested separate checks for our convenience. Our server wasn’t very receptive to this seeing as how she told us numerous times that it would take her much longer to do and that we should have told her at the beginning. Ummmm. We all ordered water and there were 3 coffees on the table. How hard is it to figure out who had them? Seriously? We are the customers. It’s about the paying customer not the server. Needless to say she wasn’t very attentive after that. There was 1 server that actually came and cleared our last dish with a smile. She was actually the only person working that day that had a smile on her face. No joke. So if you want a good breakfast and don’t mind rude service then this place is great. If you want the full package with good food and service don’t waste your time… look elsewhere.

We came for breakfast around 11:30 and were seated outside within several minutes. We waited almost 30 minutes while several waitresses bustled around at nearby tables, but no one came by to greet us, offer us coffee, or take our orders. Finally one woman asked us if anyone had helped us yet. When we said no, another waitress came right out to help us and apologized, saying that the hostess had forgotten to assign our table. 20 minutes later our food was on the table, but we noticed our eggs were extremely overcooked(we both ordered eggs bene that should have had runny eggs). The table next to us had the same complaint with their eggs… We were there for an hour and half between being seated and getting our check. We’ve enjoyed our meals here in the past, although each item we’ve ordered has come out a little bland.

Wow this place was amazing! We had come to Wells Beach for a weekend vacation and happened to drive by this place. It’s beautiful, very idyllic with a pretty outdoor seating area, and brunch was delicious!(I had eggs benedict, my husband had the hash). It felt like a really special place, much more so than others in the area, but the only reason it doesnt get 5 stars is because the service was just ok, long waits, lots of anxiety, etc…

I would say overall it is a good place to eat and sitting on the patio is beautiful on a nice day. I think the front hostess is rude. This is the second year in a row we have had a problem with her. We got there at 11:10, the hostess asked if we were having breakfast, we said no, she said they would not be serving breakfast for another 15 minutes. The patio at the time had about 4 open tables and all open inside. I told her we would be happy to sit and by the time we ordered it would be lunch time. She informed us that we could not sit down at a table until lunch started. She then walked away. We looked at a menu and sat on a bench to wait. On the menu it stated lunch started at 11:15 on weekdays. I was confused that the hostess had said 15 minutes. By now it is 11:12. Hostess was still inside, at 11:16 I went inside and asked to be seated. She was short with me and told me she had to put the breakfast menus away first. She ended up seating us at 11:20. On a positive note our waitress was delightful and food was good as usual. The owner should not have a rude person making the first impression. If I had not been here before I would have left. If you can get past hostess attitude, it’s a pleasant place to eat. The atmosphere much better than the food but a decent meal. The experience today reminded me of the scene in Meet The Parents when he wasn’t allowed to get on the plane until the flight attendant called his row but he was the only one there. I would give 4 stars without the hostess.

Surly waitress. Note to restaurant: if you don’t have a waitress who can be pleasant to a large party, don’t take a reservation for a large party. Some of the food was good, some of it was not.

A friend brought me here for a birthday lunch as she lives in York and we had plans in Kennebunk afterwards. Place is adorable, looks like a home ! Pergola out back, seating inside or outside, mini bar area; and staff makes you feel like family. They serve breakfast and lunch, and have quite the selection. They have these appetizing crêpe sandwich wraps, for a great price ! My friend got the scallop crêpe and I got the sausage, onions, and pepper crêpe; comes with side salad or soup, and a popover. It was delicious ! I cannot wait to go back and try some of the others !!

Absolutely a darling and quaint place to eat, especially if you can get seated outside. This is our second time within a week eating here. Our first experience was a bit better than the second. Our waitress was incredibly slow and overwhelmed. In fact, my husband’s still sitting in there waiting to pay the bill. We saw her one time during our meal. I didn’t find the food incredibly special. The portion seem fairly large. The blueberry French toast is highly recommended as well as their wine bloody Mary mix. Hopefully I will see my husband before the morning ends. Take care and enjoy your meal.

Simple review– they make their own jams and jellies but serve smuckers strawberry jam out of those little plastic containers you find at diners and Denny’s. Breakfast was ok, they overwhelm with portion size for sure. Eggs Benedict on a surprisingly bland and salt-less homemade popover. Big doughy Belgian waffle, but I’m a lite and crispy fan. Pancakes with blueberries looked great, maybe I missed out…

Had a friend recommend this location. Family was from Wells. He was right on the money. I had a corned beef hash omelet with bacon and the cottage fries. They were excellent one of the best breakfasts I’ve had the waitperson was good and attentive. The atmosphere was also nice. They have a nice patio to dine also. Def will return. The coffee was just ok though that was the only disappointment. Was not bad but not up to the caliber of the food

Just left this«farm» restaurant a few minutes ago and I’m not really sure if all these five star reviewers have been eating prison food for the past six months or what the deal is. My husband and I picked this place as it is advertised as a farm café so we figured we would be dining on fresh food. This could not be further from the truth. I ordered the veggie omelette and the housemade corned beef hash. My goodness where to start. The omelette came with two slices of tomatoes on top, two white mealy slices. White tomatoes in August! I’m sorry those poor tomatoes had to leave their cellophane packaged home to sit on top of the most bland omelette ever made. The omelette and sautéed veggies had absolutely NOFLAVOR, pretty sure the eggs were from an egg mix and not fresh. I also asked for no mushrooms because of an allergy and guess what? Yup mushrooms, just a few little ones but still. The potatoes-really? Frozen potato like food substance is more like it. You probably got better quality from your fifth grade school lunch. The sweet potatoes my husband had were definitely also frozen waffle cut fries. The corn beef hash was also a let down made with pre-cut frozen potatoes and some mediocre tasting corned beef. Seriously invest in some Flavor God spices or at least break out the salt shaker once in a while! When the waitress asked if we wanted our leftovers boxed I kind of let it flow. Her response, «well we are really a farm of berries.» Okay then WHYAREYOUSERVINGPACKAGEDSMUCKERSHIGHFRUCTOSECORNSYRUPJELLY instead of farm fresh homemade jams with your pancakes and toast?! Seriously don’t waste your money, we spent $ 40 on frozen, not fresh, very bland«food» from a «farm» café that is anything but.

Stopped here for breakfast with my boyfriend while in Wells for the day. I ordered the white cheddar crab eggs benedict over a popover. The popover was loaded with crabmeat. The breakfast was huge and came with potatoes and toast. My boyfriend ordered a muffin(homemade and scrumptious) and the porky pig breakfast sandwich which he described as delicious. I wish they gave you their own house made jam with the toast. They sell it at the front and it’d be a nice way for guests to try it and then buy it. The service was ok. We had to hunt our waitress down for the check and even then asked a fellow waitress for the check and for change. Service could be better. Wonderful food and off the beaten path… would def go again.

After discovering this restaurant on Unilocal,we decide to have breakfast here last Saturday. We were not disappointed in the least. The atmosphere was warm, the wait staff very friendly, and the food, delicious. My husband had the berry French toast and remarked more than once that it was the best he has ever had. My omelet was fluffy and the cottage fries, tasty. As a matter of fact, we liked it so much, that on our way out of town the very next day, we stopped in for breakfast again! Great place!!!

We were headed to Freeport from Boston and found this place on Unilocal. We were so glad we did. We were the first to arrive for breakfast on a weekday. Everything was wonderful. Breakfast club sandwich was huge and delicious. Muffins are large and tasty. Have them grilled. Fluffy pancakes, potatoes and coffee, all great. Beautiful country setting.

A beautiful restaurant with great service, but only a so-so breakfast. Brick and hardwood floors make for a great casual café ambiance. The setting is bright and warm, and very clean. The waitstaff were very friendly, and on the ball with drink refills and checking up on us. I had the Bacon Flannel Omelet(bacon, provolone, corned beef hash), cottage fries, and raspberry crêpe. My wife had the Sausage Confetti Omelet(sausage, peppers, onions). Everything was cooked well; just the right temperature and consistency. But everything was so bland that it was just boring. My omelet didn’t really taste like anything, and was begging for some seasoning or hot sauce. Punch up the flavor a bit, and this could be a truly great restaurant.
