is restaurant’s name is now BOCCE! I have been coming to the cape for years and rarely write a review because I am a food-snob and understand the summer-needs are just different in the outer-cape! After watching this restaurant being built, then re-built, and renamed, we finally went for dinner on a Tuesday night. I am so happy to report it was great, and yes, I was surprised. A great wine and beer list, but I had the most perfect sangria — not too sweet finished off with a touch of brandy. Fantastic salad with great local lettuce and crispy prosciutto and then a few oysters and clams with champagne vinaigrette– cheaper shellfish than anywhere else I have been this year, and fresh and choice of 4 toppings. Pizza was very large and thin crust and so flavorful with a finish of fig drizzle on top of the arugula. The dessert — key lime pie was excellent — and all choices looked great. Our waiter was friendly and attentive and great. The bartender was happy to give tastes of the wines by the glass. And then we went outside and played bocce ball in the spectacular landscaped bocce court. The restaurant itself was comfortable, quiet, and relaxed. So, take it from a west-coast food snob, this place is excellent. I am eager to go back and try their homemade pasta.

This place is now called Bocce and was it ever delicious. I got two Bombay Sapphire and Tonics to start. We got a dozen oysters and they were so good. They make a champagne mignonette, I prefer cocktail sauce but the mignonette was quite good. We did the pasta menu which is a choice of house or caesar salad(get the caesar) and a choice of pasta(linguine, papardelle, etc) choice of sauce and a protein. We both got the littlenecks and clams, SODAMNGOOD. My fiancé wanted a pesto sauce and I preferred marinara with a little kick to it(I asked for it spicy and it was). Our waitress was nice and this place is so clean. Everything looked brand new. For pasta on the Outer Cape, Bocce is where we will go!

Quite disappointed in my meal last night. we went there at 7 pm, and was seated right away, even though the place was packed. The noise was loud enough to overwhelm the background music. They had baffles to control the sound but didn’t work. We were excited about having an italian restaurant in the area. We were asked about drinks, but only wanted water, told we had to wait for our server, so we waited and waited some more. Our server was pleasant and took the time to explain the menu, very nice. We received our water and waited a bit. Another server came over to check on whether we’ve been waited on, nice again. Finally the bread and oil mixture came out. The bread was soft, boring, but the oil mixture was delicious. We were starving! Okay we waited for our salad, waited some more and finally I asked if the salad was coming before the entre. It did. So we finally got our salads, and the anchovies were forgotten. Okay, mistakes are made, no big deal. So we waited some more. I new the pasta was home made but I didn’t think they were making it right then and waiting for it to dry! Finally the dinner came, I had veal piccata on linguini, Mary had mussel and clams in an oil sauce on linguini. Romano cheese was grated on our pasta, but now the bread was gone, water glasses empty, and Mary had no fork. Ok, fork came, glasses filled, not the bread. So we dug in. My veal and the sauce was wonderful, Mary’s muscles and sauce was equally as good! The pasta was raw… Raw, not al dente. So someone at the establishment came by and asked how the meal was, she half listening until I said the pasta was raw. She quickly focused and said they had italian chefs and«Americans» like their pasta soft! I said, I’m italian, and this was raw! It would have been nice to have bread so I could at least enjoy the sauce. Our waitress came over, told her the pasta was raw, she at least wanted to correct the situation with new pasta. We declined. She didn’t want us to pay for the meal, we said we were paying for it. Good thing, the person in the red hat didn’t like that idea. She wanted to give us free deserts, but we declined. We just wanted a good italian meal without having to cook it myself. We paid the bill which was reasonable if the pasta was edible, gave our server a good tip, and left with this restaurant scratched off our list. They do need to speed up if they plan on dealing with the season rush… Maybe they won’t even put the pasta in water next time since Italians like the pasta really firm, like brittle!

Rookies was ok but Rinos is OUTSTANDING! The best chicken Parm by far! We have met the Chef and he has sure brought Italy directly to Wellfleet. this place is brand new and you could tell the wait staff was still adjusting, i am sure by next summer it will be perfect. The renovations look great.

Too pricey for the quality. The food was good but nothing to write home about. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. It looks very new but I think they’ll need to work on acoustics –very loud even when not too many people there and music sounded like it was coming from alarm radio.

I wanted to like Rinos because I live in Wellfleet, but after trying Rinos twice there is very little good to say. Go to tripadvisor and read the reviews there. They are accurate. Veal pram not pounded out properly. Margarita pizza was just a plain cheese pizza and not a very good one. Crust was limp. not crispy.and for the price, very small. go to wellfleet house of pizza for good pizza… There other dishes are pedestrian and you could make them better at home. Sorry because I wanted to have a great local place. misses the mark

Visited rino, s for the first time tonight. My wife had the veal masala and I had the spaghetti with promo door sauce and meatballs. Both were outstanding. We also enjoyed the garden greens salad which had a very nice dressing. The bread was warm and fresh when it was served along with an olive oil and spice mixture. Service was good and the food was served hot and prepared correctly. Not overly salted but a good mixture of spices and other ingredients. The only suggestion is that the noise level was high and with hardwood floors it only makes it more difficult to reduce it. Perhaps some carpeting or area rugs would be something to consider. Tough to find good Italian food on the lower cape but this place is clearly outstanding. Hope they continue to be successful in the future. Kathy C.

This place is no Rookies. and we were glad! Restaurant changed hands recently and Rino’s is certainly an upgrade. Excellent pizza, friendly service. Very happy we went.

Finally: we have a nice Italian restaurant! We were excited to try this newest addition to the fab and diverse Wellfleet restaurant scene and were not disappointed. We came for a glass of wine and a small meal after a movie. The décor is a bit sparse but it was light and open and spotless and had Italian music playing, which was great… Helped create an Italian ambience. They have a nice selection of wines at very affordable prices and even Italian beer! We ordered the SAUTE’ COZZE e VONGOLE but were disappointed to learn they were out of mussels. We decided to order it anyway, with more clams and were quite satisfied with the dish, even without the mussels. Wellfleet clams can never disappoint. A very amply portioned dish with toasted bread to soak up all the nice garlicky broth. We also ordered the INVOLTINIDIMELANZANE — eggplant rolatini with ricotta, parmesan, mozzarella and tomato sauce. This was the star dish for us this eve. I could have eaten 5 more helpings. Delicious! Chef Rino made the rounds, stopping to say hello at all of the tables. What a nice way to build relationships with your diners. It added to our overall very positive experience of our first meal here. I anticipate this will become one of our regular after-movie stops, for sure!

I wanted to love this place. We were here last week but only had pizza in the bar. The delicious looking steaming plates of food that past us by on the way to eager dinners enticed us there tonight. We ordered the Caprese Salad. The presentation was nice but the tomatoes were flavorless and looked just like the kind you get at the supermarket all wrapped up in plastic. It is the end of summer for goodness sake! You can’t walk a quarter mile without finding a local farm stand selling sumptuous tomatoes redolent w/the smell and taste of summer. My Veal Piccata and the Chicken Piccata we ordered came to us in a congealed sauce and barely warm. The mixed summer vegetables were also cold. The roasted potatoes were warm but looked like yesterday’s fare. Tip included dinner was $ 35 per person. We drank no alcohol nor did we have a dessert. While I wish these new restauranteurs good luck there are too many dining options for me to consider a return visit.

Our family stumbled onto Rino’s after coming back from the Provincetown Carnival Parade — it was a LOOOOONG day and we were looking for somewhere to grab a bite with a party of 12. Everywhere along Rte 6 had a line around the block, except Rino’s. We thought this may be a little bit of a warning sign, but we were willing to give it a shot, because we were starving and had a bunch of kids with us. Well Rino’s is so new that you can still smell the fresh paint on the walls. There was a pretty decent crowd when we arrived, and they were able to seat our party pretty quickly. Bread and delicious spiced oils to start off the meal, and as we ordered drinks and our food, the staff and the chef himself kept bringing out more things for us to try. Was extremely impressed by the attentiveness of the staff, and when our meals came out, there was nothing that disappointed. Even the house salads blew us away — the balsamic oil was out of this world! We sat there googling the brand to find it on our own! I ordered the spaghetti a vongole, which is pasta with clams(local to Wellfleet) with a garlic white wine sauce. I’ve ordered this at many restaurants, and Rino’s has topped the list of the best spaghetti a vongole I’ve had. The clams were perfectly cooked, and there were just the right amount. the pasta was cooked to al dente perfection, and the sauce was fantastic. No one had a single complaint about their food — everyone was sharing across the table! Visit Rino’s immediately. It’s a diamond in the rough, only because it’s so new. I can guarantee that it will become THE Italian hotspot in the area in no time.
