We order from here all the time, and just love it. Favorites are chicken yellow curry, shrimp pad Thai, and the beef satay.

I really enjoy the food here and the brown rice is not like your everyday rice. Flavorfull and filling. I had a chicken plate with yellow curry/sauce mild. The flavors where perfect not strong and not bland either just enough taste. The staff are very nice.

We placed an order for pick-up. It was a full family order of 5 dishes, and they told us it would take 20 – 25 min. It ended up taking 45 minutes as they had to finish the pad Thai. When I get the pad Thai it has two tiny pieces of shrimp in it. Really just a pathetic dish.

AWFUL I really don’t know what’s happened here, but this restaurant has gone from a 4 star to a zero star. We were greeted by a dour, disinterested man who frankly seemed annoyed by anyone and everyone who passed through the door. We waited far too long for our order to be taken, and then again waited too long between starters and main course. The shrimp rolls and dumplings were cold and bland, the worst I’ve had in a while. The main courses were all far too sweet, the consistency of the curry sauce was watery and the portions too skimpy. My main was supposed to contain cashews; there were maybe 10. When I brought this to our server’s attention and asked for more, she said I would be charged for it. I refused to accept this, and did receive more cashews, but they were almost thrown on the table and there were maybe 10 – 12 in a little dish. We really used to enjoy coming here; the food was very good and the owner was very pleasant. No more. As such, I regret to say we shall never darken their door again.

I came to Amarin twice within the past month for work lunches and have been pleasantly surprised both times. The noodles and tender beef is pretty delicious. I’ve also had the fresh shrimp rolls but I could tell they were not made fresh. They were pretty chilled when they came out like they were made the night before or something and placed in the fridge. All in all a great Thai place in Wellesley!

Good enough just ain’t good enough sometimes… Located in Wellesley Center, Amarin is convenient to find, and parking is easy. A bit musty smelling, the restaurant itself is clean. The décor is simple and appropriate for the type of cuisine. The staff are very helpful and attentive, Amarin offers a combination of Thai, Vietnamese, and some Chinese-inspired dishes. You will not find a comprehensive selection from each type but more of a broad range. My wife got the steam vegetables with chicken and sticky rice. It was good. I ordered the pad thai which unfortunately came with only three small shrimp. That was kind of disappointing! Also the pad thai was a bit soupy. I may be used to a bit drier type of pad thai. I will say that the flavor was good. Overall, I can’t give Amarin more than 3 stars. It was just ok.

Solid Thai place for this area. Their dishes are a bit greasy, but everything tastes good. The coconut soup is very good. They have great veggy spring rolls. a few dishes are good. We always get a number of dishes. The food is greasy which is why I only give it 3 stars. The chicken skewers are good, the pad thai is pretty spot on. They have a few good beef dishes and their spicy salmon dish is worth trying. Overall, solid enough place to get a decent meal, and the price is right. Just a bit greasy for my tastes.

First let me say if you are old or handicapped, this is not the place for you .As you come through the front door there is a raised lip, but no rail .My wife tripped and almost went down the stairs. There should be handicap access, but there is not, and to watch one member in his 80th year struggle up those high risers steps, and almost not make it because there was no rail at the top is disappointing .I took 2 stars off for that . Now to the food which was ordinary Thai food not exceptional but average .My wife had the Pad Thai which didn’t differ from the scores of Thai restaurants every where. .I had the duck which was good, but not exceptional .A big problem was the lemonade which has hot/lukewarm, even with ice .I never saw that before but it was good tasting lemonade destroyed by being warmer than lukewarm on a 80 degree day .The restaurant was virtually empty in the lunch hour. Amarin has been here a long time and I don’t know how they survived . I can’t see myself going back because not having handicap access is a no no, a rail at the entrance would have been a modest safety improvement, I don’t know how it passed inspection. I would add one comment, I judge most Thai Restaurants against my favorite Rhuan Thai on Hilton Head Island, Amarin doesn’t come close and my wife said their Pad Thai is not as good as Thai Theory on RT9 in Natick a new take out place.

I finally went back to Wellesley last year and enjoyed yet another fine dining experience at Amarin. 10 years since my college days and with a more refined palate, and having access to some of the best thai places in the U.S. my expectations were pretty low. However, when I came in here again, I remembered why I loved this restaurant so much. It was one of the first thai restaurants that introduced me to really good thai food. I love their pad thai’s and how it is different from most thai restaurants. The owner came out this last visit to talk to us about sourcing his ingredients and chatted about Wellesley and having Amarin be a staple for us college women. I still love their pad thai more than any other pad thai I eat. Other dishes I have my favorites but the pad thai and the nostalgia that comes with it belongs to Amarin.

There are two great thai places in my mind in Wellesley, and if you have time to sit down and take your time with a meal, Amarin wins the thai battle. The food is super fresh and well portioned, you will always have some leftovers. There is a ton of variety on the menu, though if you hate seafood or are allergic, you will be a little limited on your choices. Definitely get some apps to share, and have everyone order something different, so many different options its hard to just choose one!

Some of the best Thai food in Wellesley. We often order takeout from here and they probably have the best satays in the city. Their dishes are nice and spicy and they’re crazy noodles are awesome.

They do a great job with Thai food! Some of the best in the Natick/Wellesley area. Have been here plenty of times and always enjoy the meal! Favorite dishes are the Tofu Royale, Pad thai, and the Curries!

The food was average at best. I have never had curry that runny and not spicy before. It was also incredibly salty and a very small portion for the price. The service was decent. I do not plan to revisit.

This is one of our favorite Thai restaurants. We rarely have had a bad meal at Amarin. Their pad thai is consistently good, and I always enjoy their spicy papaya salad, crazy noodles and their chicken satay. Despite some of the comments regarding parking and service, I don’t recall having much difficulties finding a parking spot nearby the restaurant. And we never had any memorably bad service from them either.

The best mussels of any Thai restaurant as they are local fresh Mussels and not the chewy green ones. I also consider their pad thai the best as well as their steamed chicken dumplings. We have been eating at the Amarin in Newton for decades and the food here tastes identical. I have eaten at hundreds of Thai restaurants around the world including many in Thailand. Amarin and Pongsri near Times Square are my two favorites in the US.

Great Thai food can be found here! Space is absolutely huge. The food is pretty delicious, but it does take a long time to get your food, both dine-in and take-out. Favorite dish here is only offered during lunch — Amaranth Noodles. It’s a fresh spinach noodle sautéed with shrimp. I once convinced them to make it available for dinner, but it’s not normally offered. Definitely recommend!

Service was a tad lacking here as we had to track down the servers(literally) for more water and to add a take-out order at the end of our meal, but on the whole, we had a good lunch at Amarin of Thailand one nice Saturday afternoon. Parking along the street was found without much trouble, and for some reason, popping in two quarters accrued me the max 2 hours of parking, even though the meter told me that I’d get 30 min per quarter. But who’s to argue? We were soon settled at a table with metal utensils(aka no chopsticks), glasses of ice water, and lunch menus. I like it when an establishment offers their lunch menus on a Saturday; lots of places don’t. We shared two apps and a noodle and had room for an order of that fried ice cream that was advertised in a stand on the table, tempting me… it was successful. But first, the appetizers — at $ 7.25 for 6 Chicken Satay skewers and $ 7 for 5 Shrimp in the Blanket(delicate whole shrimp wrapped around with crispy egg roll skin, served with house sweet plum sauce), their appetizers aren’t cheap, but they were good and decent portions for the price. The chicken were marinaded yellow and charred with grill marks. Though each piece was a bit on the thin side, they remained tender and I ate mine slathered with the peanut sauce and the sweet clear sauce with chunks of cucumber. The shrimp rolls were rather nice sized and I think I spotted some additional contents keeping company with the whole meaty shrimp — like carrots and I don’t know what else. I enjoyed the surprise, but if you are one of the many folk out there with allergies, you might want to do some sleuthing before placing your order. After the more impressive portioning of the appetizers(although I would have appreciated if the shrimp would have come in 6 rather than 5 for easier splitting between parties of 2 or 3), the $ 8.75($ 9.25 at dinner time) Pad Thai(the most famous Thai noodle dish, fried with shrimp, spiced tofu, ground peanuts, eggs, bean sprouts and Thai spices) was a bit of a let down. Although the noodles were neatly nested on the plate, noodles are cheap and the portion was skimpy. Three small shrimp were curled up on top. And I have to ask — where was the tofu mentioned on the menu? I mean, I did think it was unusual that there’d be tofu in the first place, but I like tofu, and if you say it is included, I kind of want it to be there. The taste though, was satisfactory. After consuming all that, however, it did not take much to convince my dining companion that we should order the fried ice cream. Basically I just had to point at the photo and make the suggestion. Don’t you just love friends who like to eat like you do? It didn’t take long for the fried ice cream to make its way to the table. And this was FRIED ice cream; not that cheat stuff where they simply coat a ball of ice cream with crushed cereal or something. It had a nice light fried coating enrobing the still frozen vanilla ice cream(no alternative flavor choices available), drizzled with chocolate sauce and dabs of whipped cream here and there. It didn’t last long. For $ 4.50, this was a no brainer. And it reminded me of the fried ice cream that I’ve had in the past at Island Hopper(RIP). At $ 17.50 for my half of the meal, this was not a cheap lunch, but we had a good time and left with satisfied tummies. We were seated in the front dining section, but when I went a looking for the facilities, I discovered that this restaurant goes deeper. It is actually a rather good sized establishment. Bathrooms are downstairs, but they do have one located handily on the ground floor for the handicapped patron. 3.5 stars.
