The meal placed before us nearly incited me to take a massive post meal«dump» in the filthy restroom lav. One star is 6 too many!

A little upset that this restaurant delivered my food to the resort I’m staying at with no utensils… After we specifically asked for utensils to be placed in the bag. Now we’re stuck waiting for room service to bring us utensils while our food gets cold… Any opinion of the food will greatly suffer now that it’s cold… Thanks a lot.

I grew up eating some if the BEST American Chinese food there was in my home city needless to say I am super picky about where I eat American Chinese… this place rocks! We were staying at the Resort at the Mountain and needed delivered dinner. It was fast and hot and really good! The staff was super helpful beings we didn’t have a menu… thanks for an awesome meal!

This is the only Chinese restaurant here in Welches, so I really want to love it, and I would if it was a bit more consistent. It tends to be real good sometimes but, more often it is just mediocre. The prices are fairly decent and portions are pretty big. The place is always empty inside, but I suspect most of their business is take– out which is how I always order my chinese at the Lucky Tan. Nothing wrong with this place, it does the job when in need of a chinese food fix. Just don’t set your expectations too high, and you will be fine.

Who would have thought there would be really godo chinese food in Welches of all places? Well, there is! If you need a little carb-fest pre or post hiking, this is the place! Fast service, great(and surprisingly fresh) food, super lunch special. What else can you ask for?

I looked past the filth. I held my breath when I went to the bathroom and tried to wash my hands without making them dirtier on the way out. I ordered a beer so i wouldnt have to deal with a dirty glass. I dealt with the incoherent weirdo mumbly waiter that I wanted to grab from his roost at the register and say, «Grab a rag and get to cleaning!!» I played it safe and ordered the #4. I was able to eat the fried rice, fried battered shrimp(battered as in beaten and abused) and some of my subgum chow mein. The sweet and sour chicken blob ended up in my napkin as it needed to leave my mouth immediately. hubby was brave and ventured to the #10. He liked his rice too. Couldnt eat the shrimp. Generals chicken was good but not generals chicken. the one bit of the egg roll we took tasted like it was dipped in donut batter and fried. very odd. If you cant make it to Sandy in time forget Chinese and go for the steak at ZigZag inn is my recommendation. Bleck. I hope i make it through the night.

We are from out of town, but really wanted Chinese for dinner, it was pushing 8:00, so we weren’t sure what we would get. Our meals were terrific, so fresh, lots of vegetables, yummy flavor. I had Szechwan shrimp that was spicy and delicious. My husband had a house special with every kind of meat, shrimp, even scallops that was also delicious. We will have the left-overs for lunch. We really hope this place does well, so we can come back whenever we are in the area.

I have experienced all kinds of Chinese food on the mountain over the last 19 years and when this place opened, I wasn’t skidding into the parking lot sideways for a fix. They have changed hands a few times and I hope they have finally handed off for the last time. I have gotten several things here that I have really liked, from mango chicken to general tso. The prices are average for Chinese and the portions are decent. If you are calling for take out, you won’t get your soup, however, if you go in and do take out, they will let you have your soup while you wait for your order. We have ordered from here a few times and the only time I felt like being fussy is the last time I went in, it was pouring down rain and I was the only one there, the kid told me ten minutes for my order and I sat down to wait. It was actually 40 minutes. I saw several people coming and picking up orders, so I am sure they had things going on other than me, but really that was way too long to wait. The food was good though, when I got it home and it has not been a consistent thing to wait like that, so I won’t be too whiny about that. A funny note to that last visit, a family of four came in, this place is pretty big. There was not one single person in here. The kid tells them to sit anywhere and as soon as they were about to sit at a table he yells across the place, «no not there» and they laughed, he was not laughing and made them move to another table. I could hear them talking about it, but all he told them in broken english was the table might wobble. Thinking about it, I was there ten minutes before them and they got their food before me… maybe I should be whiny.

Lucky Tan is pretty good as far as Chinese food goes. The atmosphere is nice because it’s usually pretty empty in there. The portions are huge and the egg rolls are my favorite around! The staff is very friendly and willing to cater to your special requests. The dishes are not always consistent so you never truly know if it will be the same as the last time you ordered it… and the veggie lo mein was just noodles and carrots which was a little strange, I was hoping for more variety. It’s not the best Chinese food, but it is the only option in little Welches.

We ordered delivery and were told it would arrive 20 minutes later. 45 minutes later we called to check on our order and were told they were too busy and we had to come pick it up! We had been at the mountain all day and asked that they fufill our order and deliver our food. They ended up coming(15 minutes later!) and did not give us any plates, utinsels, soy sauce, etc! We had to go the restaurant of the hotel to get those items since obviously our room didnt have anything. So disappointing, and the food was not even good. Will not eat there again.

I never imagine that a town like Welches, OR would have a GREAT chinese restaurant. My husband convinced me and our daughter to eat here and so glad we tried it. Now, we can say that this restaurant is by far the best chinese restaurant in the state of Oregon. We have ordered a couple of their family meal and they were delicious. It made us crave for more. Lolz. The staff were very friendly and very good with customer service. Were definitely coming back when were in the area.

I think when drafting a review of a place you need to factor in location. So for Chinese food on Mt. Hood this place is great! Never have my hubby or I had a bad meal from here. Mongolian chicken, potstickers, sesame shrimp:) ect. We always grab take out so I can’t vouch for what the inside looks like.

The food is great but don’t try to order by phone. None of them completely understand english and have ever gotten an order entirely right every time I’ve gone there. Plus, it is never guaranteed that they’ll deliver. They don’t know the area. The business is also run unprofessionally. When you call a business you expect to hear«Thank you for calling such and such how can I help you» this is not the case. They just answer«hello» like a person does at their house. Overall disappointed because the food is really good, but the staff makes it impossible to order what you want.

Food was typical Asian. But it was very tasty and good quality. Service was ok, not great, but still good. Facility was typical for this type of restaurant. Wasn’t dirty. But not spotless and new looking either. Would return if I was in that area and wanted American/Chinese fair, but wouldn’t go out of my way to go there.

Totally solid standard options and giant portion sizes. The veggie mu shu was enough to feed three people and the small hot and sour soup was enough for two bowls. This isn’t groundbreaking Chinese food, but it’s a solid value and perfect for take out on lazy nights in.

Best Chinese to date. Fresh vegetables and home made sauces. Ginger infused sweet and sour chicken was a favorite. Also Kung pao was really good. I would drive up to the mountain just for their spring rolls. Perfectly cooked. Fresh veggies that maintained their structure and taste.

You really can’t judge a book by it’s cover. I’ll be honest, when I saw sushi on the menu of a restaurant in the mountains, my hopes were low(assuming it was store bought-I still can’t vouch for the sushi) We went to this restaurant thinking it was a cutesy little diner up in the mountains by the resort we’re staying in. We were taken by surprise when we found out it was a Chinese restaurant but we took our chances and dined at the newly open business. It took a while to get the food but there was only one person working the front of house and once we finally got our food, it was SO worth it. The food was fresh, hot, crispy, homemade and yummy! The price is beyond reasonable for what you get… I can’t stress enough how LARGE the portions are. Literally 3 people could easily eat off of one entrée. Sadly, each person in our group of 6 ordered one entrée and a couple of the guys thought it’d be a good idea to order combos. Even after eating all our bellies could possibly hold, the table full of food still looked untouched! I hope for the sake of the business’ success, and for Porkland/America’s fatty reputation they change their portion size or at least mention their meals are family sized. I honestly wish I could find good Chinese food like this in Mesa!
