So, I live in Pittsburgh, and like most of us am subject to what the PLCB gives us via state stores when it comes to wine. Now, we all know the drill in PA. We along with like 4 other states can’t ship wine from wineries here, we have to find a cousin, or friend that lives out of state. Even if we can find it in the stores here, good luck with the service at these states stores. I got so tired of walking into a state store, trying to describe exactly what I wanted to a person who could care less, or has no knowledge besides reading the back of the label. It is so frustrating!!! So I ventured out to try and find a store that was knowledgeable about wine, and where I felt like I wasn’t wasting my money. PITTSBURGHERSLOOKNOFURTHER! Located about 15 minutes from the Pittsburgh Airport, right off the Colliers Way exit on the way to Weirton is State Line Fine Wines. The owner, Martha, knows what she is talking about when it comes to wine. She specializes in French, but has a wide selection of awesome wines. I remember the first time I walked in and asked a question that she actually had an answer too!!! I was so excited it was a rare treat to talk to someone who knows what they are talking about. I know that anything I buy there is going to knock my socks off, because she owns her own place. Which means! She gets to try these wines before she decides to put them on the shelf and sell them. State stores just order in wine, after wine, after wine, and hope they move. She can order you anything you want as well! So remember those neato chairman selection wines you can’t ever find again? Yeah, she can probably find them. Don’t wait to go! Your wine cabinet will thank you… Bonus features!!! — – No state tax on the wine! So if a bottle is $ 20 bucks, you are paying $ 20. Also heard she may be adding an art gallery soon! She hosts different tastings! Sign up for the emails.
