Excellent brunch in a quaint pink tea-house simply decorated with gilded mirrors, chandeliers, and eclectic collections of early 20th Century house artifacts. Food was delicious. Typical breakfast dishes have been subtlety nuanced in an English style and named for characters from Behind the Looking Glass(Alice in Wonderland). Wonderful English baked desserts. Service was exceptional with our cups and glasses always topped-off with fresher brew. Whereas the gluten free toast was welcomed by those in the party suffering from celiac disease, the sour dough toast was perfectly browned and tasty. Grilled pita stuffed with fluffy eggs, cheese, and English bangers was delightful. The roasted potatoes were a little hard. We were all pleasantly surprised by this hidden Webster gem.

Happy to know Webster had another short lived ‘cool’ spot. Sad to see this place move downtown like all places do. I went for tea, since they do not offer vegan options. The tea and service were nice however. And for a moment, I forgot that I was dining in Webster. Only a moment.

I went to the Mad Hatter Tea House on Sunday morning with a total party of 9. I’ll admit I was nervous at first because the restaurant is literally inside of an old house(although, from my experience, these always end up being the best places to eat– when will I learn?). We walked inside and I was immediately surprised and delighted with the atmosphere. Pink walls with vintage décor, all in an Alice in Wonderland theme(but not over-the-top). We were told from the get-go that everything is cooked from scratch, so I didn’t mind waiting a little bit longer for my food. And it was SO worth it. I had one of their many Benedicts(a vegetarian option), and everyone else seemed pleased with their dishes as well. The hollandaise was phenomenal. After we ate our meals, they brought us out MORE food, complimentary dishes of pancakes, biscuits and gravy, and home fries with salsa. Upon finding out their gravy is vegetarian(yes, they’re one of the few gems who serve vegetarian gravy!) I happily dug in, and even though I was stuffed, I ate the entire plate of it(because everyone else was stuffed too). Another notable«feature” — they tell you exactly how to steep your tea, providing you with a timer and everything you need to brew your tea to perfection. I’ve never been to a tea house before so to me it was all new, but I was amazed, and now I know why the tea I brew at home never tastes right! The best kind of restaurant is one that teaches you something

Great food and excellent service every time I’ve visited. Very good selection of tea and pastries as well! Reservations are needed on weekends because of the limited seating but very much worth a visit.

What a pleasant surprise in the village of Webster. My sister and I went here for breakfast. It is in an old house with a handful of tables. Very homey and charming. They have a large breakfast menu as well as many loose teas. Our waitress suggested the Benedicts. They have many different varieties to choose from. Everything is made in house including the baked goods at the counter. We both ordered the Alice Benedict. The hollandaise was delicious and the eggs cooked perfect. The sides of red potatoes and fruit were fresh. I will definitely be back to try some of the yummy baked goods! FYI they are moving to a new location on Park Avenue in June.

Perfect place for brunch! I’ve been there twice with girlfriends from work, and we are never disappointed. The coffee is endless, freshly brewed and served In feminine floral tea cups. Ive ordered the biscuits and gravy twice and both times they were excellent(I think the shredded carrots add an great twist)!

Great selection of tea and good food, especially for breakfast. My daughter and I love this place, I don’t think my husband and son would appreciate it. Have been back several times and have not been disappointed. My only complaint is that service is slow, don’t expect to get out in an hour if you’re in your lunch break.

Came in for breakfast and was delighted by the atmosphere as well as the staff. The were very friendly and polite. They were also very knowledgeable about all of the teas that they have. When the food came it looked great and tasted even better! I would compare it to what you think of when people say«a good home cooked meal»… And this hit it far out of the park.

The food was surprisingly delicious. I expected it to be okay, if that because the décor doesn’t make you expect anything good. This place is definitely a diamond in the rough. The tea selection is great and I was very pleased with the peach picnic that I got. The food isn’t pretty, let’s be honest, but it was really delicious. The service was a bit slow, the server seems inexperienced. We were often left alone for long stretches of time and had to call her over when we needed anything but when she came she was efficient and friendly. We weren’t in a rush so we didn’t mind. Their dessert counter was very cute but honestly, the cookies were a bit dry and stale. I wasn’t unhappy with it, I just probably wouldn’t order it again. All in all, I would definitely come back for more tea and a light lunch but steer away from the desserts. P. S. They had gluten free bread and desserts which was a bonus! My grandmother liked them from what I could tell.

First off I would suggest you stay away until their construction and the road construction is over. It was hard to get to as parking was limited and there were actual barriers to step over to get to the door. The café is in an old house and the front porch, which is the only entrance, was piled high with junk. They said this was because they are updating the kitchen. We were greeted immediately and shown to our table. The place is divided up into small rooms just like a house and the tables and chairs are all odds and ends. I have no problem with that but our table looked like someone’s old kitchen set and the chairs were covered in pink fabric which was filthy; not a good first impression. It was a warm July day and there was one tiny window A/C unit which appeared to be not working and an oscillating fan right across from our table. I ordered the Brie and pear panini and small salad and it was very good. My friend got a turkey sandwich and was very happy with that. It was just hard to get past the décor and lack of cleanliness along with the fact that there was just nothing about it that said«Tea room»; it looked more like worn out diner. There certainly is potential there but they are nowhere close to reaching it.

Had a reservation for 2 pm for tea and. It was very skimpy. The scone did NOT have clotted cream as advertised. A couple of finger sandwich triangles, a couple of very thin melon slices, a cookie and another tiny dessert which I can’t remember, etc. Basically I was not impressed. I felt we could not linger very long as she wanted to close. This was not high tea, what was it? There was jam for the scone I forgot, and several teas from which to choose.

My wife and I went here for an anniversary brunch. I am not a tea drinker(coffee is my thing), but was willing to try one. When I told this to the server she suggested a great tea that coffee drinkers tend to love. Very friendly service and oh my God amazing food. The challah French toast with fresh fruit of the day was amazing! The roasted potato toppings were also good, but just know that they can be a bit oily.

Tea room and café. I point out the name of the restaurant because I feel like if you go into this place knowing what to expect, there is really no room for complaint. The first words are tea room. Go for tea. Go to buy more tea leaves to go. The tea is fantastic and has wonderfully original flavors. Café. This isn’t a full fledged restaurant, it isn’t a bar, it isn’t a diner. It is a café. The standout from my perfectly good but could make at home ½ turkey sandwich, was the side of red pepper soup. My lunch mate got a speciality chicken sandwich, that was delicious, sans soup. If we were to redo the experience, we would have gotten her chicken sandwich + a bowl of soup and split the two, since the specifically sandwiches do not come with the half it plus side of soup option.

Lovely afternoon tea — the scones are excellent — highly recommend — the best part of the tea. All of the food selections were very good. I would suggest to have a option for a decaf variety of black tea. There is a lovely small, but nice selection bakery case at the entrance, for carry out scones, cookies and sweet treats to take home. The décor is all completely themed with Alice and Wonderland artwork. They also offer a regular lunch menu, which looked very good, as well.

small restaurant, half hour wait. Decent portions. Good food. They really should serve alcohol for mimosas. I had the frittata. I thought the food was pretty good but definitely could use better service and less of a wait time. Perfect for hanging out with close friends/family. Bring a jacket, it was cool inside.

We are lucky this is less than a mile from our house, but honestly, I’d drive 40 min to this place for a brunch treat. Delicious, QUALITY ingredients, homemade sauces, fresh fruit, real maple syrup, nothing from a can, lovingly hand-made menu options, and a GF bread option if you need to avoid gluten. The Hatter’s Way potato topper is a house secret gravy recipe, and my hubby *craves* it– rich with thick bacon pieces, gently sauteed onions, and cheddar cheese… I love the black bean or spinach Benedict options. The coffee is excellent, an often overlooked important detail at your typical breakfast joints. This is not a fast in & out place to eat if your in a super rush, neither has it ever been overwhelmingly slow on delivery. Relaxed, adorable Alice in Wonderland themed décor without being kitchy or saccharine. We love it!

I decided my two young daughters and I needed an adventure yesterday, but first, breakfast! I looked up a breakfast place on Unilocal and Mad Hatter caught my eye. Tea room? Surely they would love it! Nestled near the gazebo, MHTR is a tiny, adorable white and pink house, and the interior is equally cute. Was a little thrown off my the big Good Humor freezer on the front porch(IMO should be relocated to a less obvious place, in keeping with the theme and look), but the gentle sweetness of the décor inside was pleasant. Perfect for a mom with two little girls. Of course they ordered the rainbow flapjacks(pancakes sprinkled with fruity pebbles, simple but perfect for kids) and I ordered a short stack of cinnamon glazed pancakes with potatoes Hatter style(herbed gravy, crisp bacon, onions). I had coffee, as it was early and I require coffee to run properly, haha, but my six year old ordered summer peach herbal tea, which they showed her how to steep and such. She felt very grown up, and the tea was quite tasty. We were far too full to try the brownies, cookies and pastries offered, but we will do so on another visit! Also, they offer a great sounding afternoon tea which we will definitely attend with my husband, who enjoys such things as well. All in all, a very nice experience. My only other suggestion would be to glaze the cinnamon pancakes a little less. They were very sweet, but glad I had the potatoes to even that out. Try it! You’ll like it. :-)

I’ve been to Mad Hatter upwards of five times now, but stopped in for lunch for the first time recently. The breakfast is phenomenal, and priced well — their sausage gravy with home made cheddar biscuits is great — the biscuits have the right amount of sweetness to counteract the salt from the sausage, and there are actual chunks of sausage in the gravy. I’ve also had their bacon pancakes, which were good but not great. The bacon inherently dries out the pancakes a bit, but it was definitely an experience and I would eat them again. For lunch, I had a Mexican style chicken salad, which was good. Overall, the food is definitely worth the cost, I would be fine paying more for their food. The service can be a bit slow if it gets packed, but there are only two people working there at a given time — a server and a cook. Also, this is a tiny place, I think there are 6 tables. My group of friends from work try to go at least once a week for breakfast or lunch. Lastly, GET A PASTRY. Their pastries are phenomenal, and even if you’re on a diet, it’s worth moving other food around for the rest of the day.
