If you know me (or click through my profile photos) you’re aware of how fair my skin is. We’ll call it translucent. So, when my friend suggested we get spray tans for her wedding, I was a little concerned about it being an absolute disaster and I’d end up like an oompa loompa, ultimately ruining her wedding. Thankfully, that was not the case! The owner was really sweet and walked us through the process as first-​timers. It’s a strange experience the first time around — standing still in strange positions, not being able to rest your hands anywhere on your body, getting next to naked in front of a stranger — but hey it all turned out OK. It isn’t a lengthy process — about 15 min. The only downside is that you feel pretty sticky after. I may have exaggerated my gestures walking like a stick figure for fear that I would smudge myself. You don’t have to be that delicate, but I do recommend a flowy dress afterward because the less clothing touching you, the better.
The best part: it looked spectacular. I opted for the lightest option and it looked like I had a subtle summer glow for a little over a week. No streaks, no orange! I will most definitely be back for special occasions. I can’t say this is a priority on my end for the everyday look because it would be expensive to maintain, but rather a nice treat during the gloomy winter months or before special occasions (weddings, etc.).
The owner is super talented, making what she does look easy. She mentioned she trains all the folks who do airbrushed spray tans in the area. A clear sign of skill. Worth the trek to Webster!
Tips to remember:
— Exfoliate and shave before you go in for a visit
— Go a day or two before your big event because you can’t shower for 8 hrs. after the spray and you’ll shed that first bronzer layer in the shower (rather than all over your nice clothes)
— Wear a dress or something dark and flowy
— Don’t wear makeup or remove it right before the appt. so your face remains the same color as the rest of your bod

Katie was awesome; I felt totally comfortable being nakey in front of her. My tan is even and I’m looking perfectly sunkissed!

Wow! Yes the tan looks so real and natural, but expensive. Don’t go without a coupon.
