This school is amazing! Every day you go to class and warm up with critical techniques that prep you for speed, flexibility, and the rest of the class lesson! The professors care for your success and ensure that you correctly and effectively execute the drill that they teach. BJJ boosts self confidence, respect for others, and the skill for self defense. My past experience has been with track(4:29 minute mile) &(1:52 half mile). Track and cross country along with swimming has been the most exhausting experiences of my life until I started JiuJitsu. Gracie Barra JiuJitsu is the real deal. No matter what your reason for joining the«family» you will leave as a better person, with more knowledge, and an eager spirit to get back on the mats and overcome your weaknesses for the next class.

I cannot say enough positive things about this school! My whole family trains here and I’m grateful for this! 1. The instructors understand jiujitsu, live and breath jiujitsu. They are always smiling and approachable. Very knowledgable! 2. The staff go above and beyond what is necessary. They help maintain the positive atmosphere! 3. The classes are a safe place, every one that trains is respectful and takes care of their training partners. This is not the case everywhere. Gracie Barra has become my sanctuary!

These guys are really really good with your kids. They truly have a blast and the employees have great energy. I gave 3 stars due to a personal reason that I felt they handled very poorly. Of course you have to sign a contract for 6 months at $ 160/month, $ 100 registration fee, and a $ 130 ji(uniform). These fees are high for a 6 year old beginner, but worth the money when you see how well they do and how good the instructors are. I always do fine with contracts and my commitment but after some abuse going on in my home, I had to leave Houston… literally overnight. To get me and my son somewhere safe. The only place I had to go(as a single mother with no financial support from anyone) is Phoenix. I drove 16 hours straight without stopping. I had called the location and for a week + kept getting their answering system. Once I finally was able to reach the manager(through his personal cell phone) and explained my emergency, there was no concern from them. At this point the money was the only importance to their business. I was told I had a contract and it must be full-filled regardless of my unsafe situation. Even though my son did not attend for 7 weeks(since I had already taken him to Phoenix) I was still charged the full 2 months in FULL!!! They would not work with me at all for the move or reasons I could not stay in Houston. As a single mom with no financial help or child support… that’s allot of money. This place is amazing. Absolutely amazing. So much heart. Very sad and disappointing that when it comes to money, the heart for other people, was not present. I think there are events in life where someone’s safety should be more important than the money and they could have worked with me, even if it wasn’t all of it. Maybe a partial payment? Or finding me a Gracie barra in my new town so I could fulfill the contract for my son. So be prepared that there is a contract and even if someone passes away, you will still be charged the full month and term.
