When we walked in, we were sat quickly but it was all down hill from there. We never had a waiter or waitress come to our table for over 10 minutes. We had to ask someone to get our waiter for us. After we made our food we finally had a waitress come to our table. I found a hair in my food and my fiancé had brown crusty burnt stuff all in her food. Once we were done we asked for our check and waited 15 minutes before she brought it(we had to ask for a manager in order to have her come to our table). The manager was neither apologetic or helpful. We will never be back.

Great place for picky eaters like myself. Their bowl comes in 3 sizes(small, medium, and large). The small should be more than enough if you know how to stack the ingredients together!!! Take your empty silver bowl and go to the«buffet» area. The first section has your meat/seafood. It has everything from beef, chicken, shrimp, pork, scallops and etc. You can put as much as your bowl can fit! Then you sprinkle your choice of seasoning(garlic powder, dragon salt, pepper, and etc.). I recommend garlic powder and a pinch of salt. Next you go to the vegetable area and choose your items(spinach, zucchini, tofu, mushrooms, onions, and etc.). Don’t forget to grab an egg if that’s what you’re into! Finally you can pick your choice of sauce for the stir fry. I recommend the 3G and honey soy sauce if you like a little bit of sweetness. You can create your own sauce by mixing them together too! The final final step is to pick your starch. Choose noodles or rice. I usually ask them to give me extra noodles(10⁄10 time I do get more noodles so just ask!). They will give you a number so they can give you the food once it has been cooked. While waiting, you can grab some light snacks to munch on. They have shredded coconuts, fried wonton strips, and crunchy«bread» sticks right next to the buffet area. Sign up for their rewards program so you can get a free bowl when it’s your birthday and when you’ve purchased ten bowls! Coming here makes me feel like I’m cooking a homemade meal without doing the dirty work in the kitchen!

It’s a cool concept to be able to pick whatever you want to eat: protein, veggies, sauce, toppings and rice and have it stir fried(almost) in front of you. I like the choice of veggies, there’s really a bit of everything for everyone: spinach, corn, zucchini… For the protein, you can choose from chicken, shrimp, beef etc. The medium bowls are a good size. You can fill them up above the top as veggies«shrink» a lot when they cook. Affordable, quick and can be healthy if you’re down for that. A good spot to go knowing everyone will find something to eat!

My boyfriend, son and I came here for dinner a few days ago. I’ve been here before but it’s been awhile since my boyfriend had ate here. I usually like it pretty well but we had a sort of crappy experience this time. My son ordered a kids bowl and got chicken breast, peas, carrots, egg and the spiral pasta with NO sauce because he hates spicy stuff. His food not only came way after our bowls even though we all ordered at same time, but it also was spicy(my bf and I both tried it when he told us) so I think they accidentally got someone else’s sauce on his. No big deal. But when I told the waitress, her solution was to RINSE his food with water(???) instead of remaking the bowl. My boyfriend and I agreed because we misunderstood what she was saying at first(we thought she meant spray the grill they cook on with water and remake his food) but upon her not asking what all he had and his same bowl coming back we realized and asked. She said yes, that will rinse all the sauce off and that’s what they do. Ummmm idk about anyone else but I personally wouldn’t eat food that’s been sprayed down with water wth? We ended up having her exchange the bowl for the Mac n cheese which apparently is also $ 5.99(not sure if it is or if they just didn’t fix it on the bill from when he had the kids bowl)??? That’s a rip off if that’s the real price because it’s a small bowl with no sides. All in all we spent over $ 50 for the three of us to eat(and I had water to drink!) and that to me is a ridiculous amount of money for something that isn’t out-of-this-world amazing.

Walked in, grabbed a bowl to get protein, went for the raw chicken, and a baby cockroach ran across the chicken. I grabbed the server and said«We are leaving. A baby cockroach just ran across the chicken» he said«I understand» and we left. Not going to risk a disease for a bowl of chicken and rice.

Great food, but the building is so small and the parking lot so small that it is never a pleasure to go. You always feel like your on top of each other. Way to small building.

I ate hear about a week ago and I’m just remembering to upload this, I’ve eaten at a genghis in 4 different states, all of which had different rules for ordering your food. Well this one allows you freedom to pick your food. Which is the whole reason for the business anyways. I highly recommend this place. My only slightly negative comment is that it is too small seating wise. Other than that it has a great staff and cooks.

Probably my daughter’s favorite and I agree with her. It’s one of the best places to go in Clear Lake. Allison also gets 5 stars. She’s an excellent server. Ask for her.

The food would be much more tasteful if it was not over cooked. The pot stickers was the best thing I’ve ate so far. The fish bowl was delicious. Not what I expected. The service was great. I would more than likely not return.

You have to come here VERY hungry! You get a lot of food for your money. I like that you create what you want in your bowl, from meats, veggies, sauces and different types of noodles. You now have different size bowl options but I always stick with the largest size. This is one of my fave restaurants!

So I received a free regular size meal for my birthday threw a email! Yay!!! This place is very popular. Staffing is friendly and very helpful. I had a blue dragon from the bar! Woo! I only drank half!!! It was strong. But any who! You are to take your empty bowl and fill it with any thing you want like Meats, veggies, fruits and seasons. Fours because it was one fly swarming around over the meat. I feel they can use some clear covers. But overall it was a nice experience.

With my birthday coming up on Sunday, I’ve been benefiting off of all these restaurant hookups. As a member of their club, I got a free regular bowl. Along with my drink, paid less than $ 5 for dinner, can’t beat that! And no, I’ll pass on McDonald’s dollar menu. For anyone familiar with the Mongolian BBQ concept, it’s pretty awesome. Pick your meats, veggies, sauce, noodles/rice from the counter, and the cooks will bring your masterpiece to your table. Definitely a good meal and you have enough for seconds if you make sure to pack the meat in your bowl. The reason I gave them 3 stars is because the service is pretty slow. Took my waitress about 5 minutes to come to my table after I had been seated. And mind you, this was at 4 P.M. so it wasn’t like they were super busy or anything. The bathrooms are also not as clean as they should be. But looking at the meal by itself, a little over $ 10 bucks for some Mongolian BBQ is definitely some good bang for your buck.

My name is Donna and I’m a regular at Genghis Grill. I eat here when I can’t make a decision on what I’m in the mood to eat for dinner. It’s not fancy, but it’s hot and cheap. I can also choose to be healthy or say forget it and use all the sauces I choose. I like options!

My husband loves this place! When looking for a healthy alternative than this is the place to go! You can pile your bowl up with anything you can imagine and personalize it to your taste: Veggies, meats, sauces, spices. A regular size bowl will usually last me for dinner and lunch left overs the next day.

Terrible experience. We’ve come here before and it seems to get progressively more disappointing every time. Today was by far the worst. They mixed up sauces on our bowls, then when it was sent back we got someone else’s order. Meanwhile three tables around us were steadily having to return bowls that were wrong. This is a great chain and good food, but each location varies hugely in their service and even cleanliness. Get it together, guys.

My first experience with Genghis Grill was in the Dallas area and I thought it was great. Now, I’ll admit that, on that particular visit, My mates and I had a few beers, so this may have influenced the amount enthusiasm I had when this location opened close to home. My first experience with this type of service was at Han’s Mongolian Wok off of 45 and Nasa. It has since gone out of business. However, I think they were on to something there that made them superior to Genghis. They had much fewer protien options than Genghis, and the meat was frozen when you put it in your bowl. More on this later… So, now I’ve been to Genghis three or four times and, while the experience was novel, the finished product left much to be desired. They tend to cook the hell out of the the contents of your bowl, resulting in tough, overcooked chicken, beef, shrimp, etc. I think Han’s froze their meat for this reason. It allows your sauces to reduce, cooks the veggies to a better state and keeps your meats from drying out and becoming a chewey meat plug. I hear that recently, they no longer allow you to put your meats in the bowl. You tell someone behind the bar what you want and they place a preset amount of it in the bowl for you. For $ 10, 6 oz of meat, poorly cooked, is hardly a good deal. Their sauces aren’t very good either(the secret is the dry spices). I think I’m pretty-much done with this place. Might be an experience for someone who doesn’t make it in to the city very much.

My love affair with Genghis Grill is officially over. And it was true love. I used to go out there all the time; at least three times a month. So when my friend and I were hungry for lunch, I harped on how great Genghis Grill was and convinced her to try it out. So we went to this location, a location I hasn’t been to before. We were hit by a sledgehammer as soon as we walked through the door. They have changed their pricing structure. Now, instead of buying either one bowl, or paying $ 2 more for a bottomless bowl(the one I always got), they have this ridiculous system of a small, medium or large bowl, with no refills allowed. The small one was either $ 9 or $ 10, the medium was $ 11, and the large was $ 13! We left without eating. You can get a buffet for less. After all, Genghis Grill was originally a stir fry buffet. Now it is more expensive than a buffet, and there is none of the fun of getting to try new and different combinations of flavors, a big reason I always got the bottomless bowl in the first place.

Love Love Love Genghis Grill for a quick and easy meal out! How it works: Get seated by hostess and after you put your drink order in, grab your bowl and get ready for some creative fun! Genghis has«recipes» you can follow if you are a novice. But for me, I tend to do my own thing. First stop: Meats! Choose from steak, chicken, turkey, shrimp, scallops, you name it, they have it! Even smoked sausage! LOL. I add a heaping helping of chicken. And it’s chicken breast, not«parts is parts». Next up: Seasoning! They have all kinds, so many that I really am not sure what is there other than salt/pepper and Dragon, which is what I use! Just a small amount, cause I like my food to not be salty. Next: Veggies and stuff: They pretty much have everything you can imagine, so no sense in naming it all. I add spinach, mushrooms, and cilantro, as well as 2 eggs to be added(I know, it doesn’t sound very«Mongolian» … maybe I’ll just call it «Mongolian fusion». LOL.) Last stop: Starch(for lack of a better word!). I get brown rice cause it’s the healthiest(IMHO). But they have tortilla strips, noodles, white rice, etc. And there you have it, your bowl is brought out to you and it’s hot and fresh! You can also do bottomless bowl but honestly, my stomach cannot accommodate that much food! They have unsweetened, flavored tea which is good, and the usual soft drinks. They also have a full bar, so you can get your drink on! They have patio seating over looking the beautiful Bay Area Blvd(LOL). Parking lot gets super full by the way so get there early!
