Angelo’s Pizza & Pasta

Been living in the Bay Area for 2 years but never went and checked out this place until the other day. Boy was it good. Great pizzas & calzones and the service was pretty friendly and prompt as well.

Angelo’s is a mom and pop operation and the best pizza in this area. I will drive out of my way to pick up an Angelo’s Special– tasty and delicious. Everything on their menu is good but I always opt for their pizza. Great little place for families too.

The sampler was good. The lasagna is AMAZING! The recommended shrimp pasta dish was adequate. The server was impatient and not very welcoming. I would dine here again but request a different server.

Just ordered after reading the reviews. I used Space City Takeout because i’m out of the delivery area. I ordered a brick All Meat Pizza and Spaghetti with meat sauce and meatballs. My kids love spaghetti and ate it all. It seemed average to me from the small sample I had. I think they may not beat Olive Garden. The pizza on the other hand was delicious. The toppings are great. It has a very good homemade taste, very different from chain pizza and definitely something to get use to. I will definitely order again. Maybe for pickup and definitely a spot to try for dine in.

The pizza was very good. The toppings were tasty and the crust was cooked to perfection. I would definitely recommend Angelo’s.

SO GLAD we went here! We came to Houston to visit the NASA Space Center. For dinner, my wife was in the mood for Italian. After doing some research, I noticed there were a couple of chain Italian choices that looked okay. Rather than a good ‘deal,’ I was really hoping for AWESOME flavor that would also be reasonably priced. Angelo’s was it! From entering the hostess AND Amber (who would eventually become our server) were super hospitable giving extra attention to our 9 year old son (who was wearing his lucky Seahawks shirt) saying, «Whooo-​hoo Seattle! «After Amber shared that SHE too was from Seattle, she brought over the yummy addictive complimentary rolls (brushed with garlic butter) and some water. After taking some time to look through the menu (and two baskets of rolls later!) We decided on our order.
Although there WAS a kid’s menu, my son wanted pizza (which wasn’t a choice on the kid’s menu). So, he ordered a small 10» pepperoni pizza. PLUS, since I wasn’t getting pizza and heard great things about Angelo’s pizza, I figured I’d help out with some of the leftovers ;) Rummors were true, their pizza WAS AMAZING! I comment more on the pizza later.
My wife and I both ordered spaghetti. My wife ordered her’s with marinara sauce. I ordered mine with tomato sauce and meatballs. They were BOTH outstanding! Our meals also came with salads. My wife ordeted the house salad with balsamic dressing. I ordered a Ceasar. The dressing was good, mellow Ceasar dressing, the croutons were very fresh, crunchy, probably homemade. My wife seemed to like her salad too. GREAT meal!
Our son, since he ate SO MANY yummy rolls, he didn’t eat too much of his pizza (YAY, more for me!!). So, my wife and I were nibbling at the pizza and it lived up to all the rumors I’ve heard and it wasn’t even the wood fired style! Be aware, Angelo’s offers BOTH regular oven AND wood fired style pizza. I grew up 20 minutes away from New Haven CT, where the world’s best pizza can be found (seriously)! Angelo’s pizza is comparable to the pizza of my childhood. .SO GOOD!
Angelo’s as a whole was ACES, VERY THANKFUL we found it! My wife commented on how she doesn’t really like Italian, because whenever she goes ‘out’ for Italian she regrets it because she feels like she could have made it better boiling pasta at home! Well, Angelo’s was an exception and we’re VERY GLAD we went OUT!

The owner is a Dick! the food is decent, just don’t order the cheese bread! It’s the worst

I love, love, love this place! Authentic, inexpensive and QUALITY. They have amazing bread, and I’ve tried everything on the menu. Zero complaints. Great service. Even can get in and out in under an hour for a lunch break and still get amazing food. Try EVERYTHING but my favorite is the Chicken Milanese and the lasagna. Oh my goodness — I’ve moved to Chicago and come back to Houston once a month and make it a point to stop here! Definitely worth your time!

Hands down one of my favorite pizza places in Houston! Grew up 30 minutes north of Manhattan… this is the closest to NY style you will get in Houston!

I gave this place another chance, a few chances actually, and I feel they deserve 5 stars. I had a bad experience but stuff happens. The food is too good to pass up! Lasagna here is my favorite!

This famous family restaurant was just located a walking distance from the hotel. Oh man, I was so glad my regional director took me here. We were so craving for a delicious Italian food. The unlimited bread with a dip of olive oil was top notch. I ordered the fettuccine alfredo with chicken. The taste of the noodles and sauce really hit the spot. I added a lot of the parmesan cheese and well I love parmesan!
The customer service was fantastic! The owners were friendly and really enjoyed their customer’s company.

They have one good item and thats their wood burning pizza. You can’t really miss the mark on that… at least i thought you couldn’t. I really hope Unilocal let’s you post pictures because their manager vehemently disagreed with my confusion about whatever was put in front of me.

The pizza is the best pizza I’ve ever had in Texas. Crunchy, and chewy and flavorful! The fried ravioli are delicious! The bread should be skipped over. Don’t waste space with it. And let’s talk about their homemade ice cream. Never mind, just get some. So delicious and way better than any ice cream, EVER.

Good lunch place! Probably the same for dinner-​will try that another time. Greeting warmly upon arrival and fast service. Meal, chicken parmesan panini was out in 5 minutes, to me that is fast for this type of restaurant. Entrée was very good, panini bread was fresh and toasted perfectly. Sauce portion was good. Did not drown the chicken parmesan out. Side was curly fries, which turned out to be a good compliment to the meal. Will return to Angelo’s!

I really love the pizza and calamari. Even more than that I find the management and staff very kind and attentive. This is a great business to support
Best pepperoni pizza ever. Ever.

I enjoy Angelo’s food, especially the pizza. I pop in at least once a week for lunch just to order the lunch pizza. I love the bread and the pasta is pretty good as well. Once of my favorite lunch stops during a busy work week!

With three visits to Angelo’s under my belt (and one takeout) I’m ready to give my $ 0.02 on my experience here. Parking is pretty tight as it is in a strip center. However there is additional parking in back. Service is always primo. As soon as you sit down the breadbasket is on the table. Warm pillows of delight. We’ve had pizza, pasta, zuppa and all were fresh, savory and gifts from the food gods. A must try – Caprina pizza. The Margherita is no slouch either. Both on thin crispy crust with a soft bread. Finally, cleanse out the palate with a creamy gelato; coconut for me. The wine list is a bit sparse although I did have a glass of a delightful, fruity Marcus James merlot. I’ll be back.

Just happened upon this place! So good! Family owned! Absolutely delicious and so reasonable! Super friendly. We are pretty new to area and so glad we found this place. Authentic Italian, super cute inside! (Way better than carraba’s next door)
Don’t let the strip mall fool you!

I really want too give this establishment a higher rating but in good consciousness I just can’t do it. If I could give a rating of 3 ½ stars I would do it.
The staff is very friendly if not very efficient. The restaurant was fairly busy for 9:30 on a Saturday evening. We ordered drinks, my friends ordered lasagna, chicken picata and side salads and I ordered the Margarita pizza.
The salads came fairly quickly but they weren’t very appealing. Nothing special at all. Looked like bagged salad and commercial croutons (which were stale by the way). My friend said his lasagna was terrific. I trief his wife’s chicken picata and it tasted gamey and bitter. To be honest I rarely have picata so my judgement might be off. The pizza was fantastic. One of the best margaritas ever with a thin crispy perfectly cooked crust.
A good server will come by the table to see if everything is okay within five minutes of delivering the food. This didn’t happen. Our server had to be waved down so we could get refills on our drinks.
The place is clean and seems to be a local favorite. I’ll have to give it another try.

Parking: Small parking area but there is parking in the back.
Time and Day: Ate on a Saturday afternoon around 2:00 PM and it was not crowded at all. My girlfriend and I were immediately seated when we entered the restaurant.
Food: You get a small basket of bread as you are seated. The bread came out very hot and fresh, and it was glazed with oil. For our entrée, we ordered a small All Meat pizza and if you are a meat lover, I recommend it. The pizza was hot, tasted fresh, and absolutely good.
Service: Excellent service. The food came out quickly, water was refilled periodically, and had no issues at all.
Price: Average price for a pizza joint. A small All Meat pizza was $ 12.99.
Overall: I recommend as the pizza and service was good, and the prices are average. ⁴⁄₅.
