The Novel Neighbor is everything you wish for in a book store. Interesting collection of books, fun miscellaneous items to browse, a knowledgeable and friendly owner, all wrapped in a charming environment. When they didn’t have a book I wanted, they cheerfully ordered it and I had it 3 days later.

We love The Novel Neighbor! The staff is always very helpful and good at recommending books for specific ages of children. They are a great addition to the neighborhood.

I love independent bookstores and always try to shop local. Novel Neighbor is a gem. The cards and artwork are great. Ever time I go in there, I end up with more than just a book. If you go, be sure to sign up for their newsletter. The only drawback is that is not in the heart of Webster where I can walk to it, but it’s worth driving to!

I love The Novel Neighbor. Driving past it multiple times over the last year that it’s been open, I never really noticed it until I went to Stratton’s Café for lunch. When I saw it as I drove past it, I decided that when I was done with lunch, I was going to The Novel Neighbor. I’m so glad that I did. Not only is it a bookstore, it’s a gift shop, too, with many items made by local artisans who make jewelry, and prints from local photographers. They have a lot of things in there that are very nice and would make great gifts for all sorts of occasions. However, I went there looking for books, and they have plenty to buy and read. There is a really good children’s section, so if you have children, you should check it out. There are all sorts of books that the little ones would most likely want to look at and read. The adult sections are loosely divided into subjects like a fiction and non-fiction section, mystery section, history and the merchandise is all new merchandise. They are not a used bookstore or second hand trade type of bookstore. The workers there were friendly and helpful. It was fun looking at the merchandise and talking with them. And an added plus, they had the book that I wanted plus more that I thought were interesting. If I want or need something as far as books go, I’m going there. Check it out. You just might like it and become a regular.

This is a wonderful, charming locally owned book and gift store. I absolutely fell in love with it– a lovely, homey atmosphere and unique gifts at very reasonable prices. It will be a regular stop for me from now on and I’m telling all my friends. Another reason why we should all BUYLOCAL!

I should be honest about this review, I originally had only wanted to come visit this shop because the girlfriend of my cousin had posted about obtaining a lithograph of novels into pictures. I have wanted one for so long and to know that there was a shop close that sold them made me want to come visit. I wish I had known about this place before this however because I have to say the moment I entered the place I knew I had found a new favorite place to spend some of my hard earned money! Not only do they have some very good selections of books, but some of the most interesting Jewelry and other odds and ends that you don’t always see at other places. The staff are friendly and helpful if you do indeed need help.

Cute little bookstore near my friend’s house. We were out for a walk and were happy to stumble into this place. We had a kindergartner and a third grader with us and they both quickly found their own favorite places to hang out. There is a lovely reading room with books for little ones. Perfect for story time, which apparently they do once a week. There is also a good young reader section and the woman working there was particularly helpful with that genre. The basic books for adults is a bit thin(and no graphic novels to my dismay), but they had some interesting books and fun displays. Art classes for kids and adults sound promising. I hope they find some way to survive.

Such a special place already. A terrific selection of books and lots of awesome gifts, many by local artists! Check out the book-themed candles — I’m going to give a ton of those as Christmas gifts this year. I definitely recommend checking it out!

I love this store! I have missed having a cute little bookstore in Webster Groves ever since Pudd’n Head closed. This store is the answer. The children’s area is an adorable little nook. The back area has fiction, biographies and young adult along with an awesome antique stove near the cooking books. There are plenty of awesome gifts. I bought a Dr. Who themed candle but there were plenty of other literature & pop culture scented candles. Very cute store. The owner was there and mentioned that they’ll be doing art classes and birthday parties.
