The food was only so-so. I ordered a side of «seasoned vegetables,» expecting a creative blend, but they were bland, and meager to boot. But the draft beer was the real loser. Fuller’s ESB is a great ale, but the stuff that came out of their tap was dead. If you can’t maintain your taps, don’t sell draft beer.

Will not be going back here again. Have been here and to other Llewelyn’s Pubs over the past year, and were treated great, the food was pretty good. This time though the manager was rude to one of our party of eight and refused to extend the promised discount to some in our party who attended the Big River Running Pub Run. It was just very poor customer service. There are too many other restaurants in the Saint Louis area to frequent, no need to accept rudeness from management.

This was my third time eating at Llywelyn’s Pub. My party of three had the Adult Toasted Cheese sandwiches with fries & slaw as well as their Fish & Pub Chips. Awesome food as always… great taste & decently sized portions. However, our server, Jamey(do not know last name), had other things on her mind & gave us & her two additional tables poor service. The pub was not busy, but she was too intent on speaking with a table with two guys then ensuring we were satisfied or had our needs met. We had to call her over to our table three times; two times for drink refills & one time to get the check. This was after I had to stare at her for several minutes before she acknowledged our table. Not only did she not monitor us but she never visited her two other tables. we had been at Llewlyn’s at busier times & received much better service.

I am glad I don’t choose this place for my work birthday lunch. I am unsure why we keep going there. Must be for something someone else likes. This is the second time in a long time I have been back and this went worse than before. There were about 20 of of, yes, they knew we were coming. I ordered a flatbread. Others more complicated things. Mine came out last — almost as an after thought. Then when ti did come out it was cold. Sort of missed-the-heat-lamp cold. I sent it back but by the time I got it reheated(not a new one) everyone else was done. So was I. I ate a bit, brought the rest back to work, forgot about it in the fridge ofr a few days, then tossed it out.

The food was good, no bad comments on food or prices. However, I along with my two professional colleague’s(one white one black) got the vibe that colored folks are not expected/wanted in this establishment. No saggy pants r crazy hair styles, no reeking or anything that relates to trouble! We were on a late lunch and walked into the wrong spot following great reviews. Next time i hear this place i know to do carry out and let my boy Dan place the order!

Never crowded, wonderful food! The only negative thing I can think of is that on the 2 occasions I dined there, it was a little on the chilly side.

Great food and a huge selection of drinks in a awesome environment Get the Deschutes black butte porter, if you’re into that sorta thing. We started with pretzel sticks and their spicy beer cheese. Pretty solid, but not anything super special. I got to try the Ruben and Ploughman sandwiches both of which came with a HUGE volume with steak/sweet potato fries.(The latter being some of the best sweet potato fries I’ve ever had)

Great beers and they are patient with kids, which is a big plus for us. The Ploughman’s sandwich is a must.

Been here a handful of times. I really like the buffalo chicken wrap. Delicious sauce and good ratio of greens to chicken. Servers are great — helpful and friendly. Last time I was there, they were running a little fundraising deal and made it really easy to donate a couple dollars to one of their employees who was diagnosed with cancer, so that’s pretty cool. This place gets an extra star for having two extra bars where local Webster Groves soccer fans can watch the high school games, and for having sweet potato fries, which I can hardly ever find anywhere else these day.

Llywelyn’s is nice and airy for a pub atmosphere. Service was great and food was great! I had the Llywelyn’s Chicken and my husband had the Cheese Steak — highly recommend!

I really like this bar, very good vibe with attentive service. Large venue with a nice selection of beer which as we all know is the most important feature of any watering hole.

I like it for their friendly, energetic atmosphere, their pretzels, burger, sweet potato fries, and chili. It is great to have in town around the block from me. I would give it three and a half stars if I could, but the local convenience, ambiance and service kick it up to a four for me. My friend ordered the flatbread with chicken and avocado for lunch this week, and it was huge, and good. I ordered a club sandwich special and it was good(albeit a little lite on the meat). For overall pub food, it prob meets my expectations — I just wish it were a little better. The other night was wife ordered their chicken sandwich and the cheese sauce completely overwhelmed the sandwich. I ordered mussels and they were fair/good, but I would not order them again(the capers didn’t work for me).

I hate to be the bearer of bad news. I guess everybody’s expectations are low. I went there on a Thursday night. The bartenders were good at the bar and had a good personalities plus it was Irish night. Which meant that Irish beers on draft are $ 3.00. The beer was poured like a pro however when I went to the table to eat, the food was not good. Of course it was like 10:01 pm and I could only order appetizers. I was very disappointed because the food was way below average. The bread was stale and it was one of the first times I couldn’t finish a app. The other was a mini burger which looked ok but my date didn’t complain. However I saw them and they were was well done they looked like hockey pucks. So if you are drinking the food might start looking better at the end of the night.

I’m a fan of Llywelyn’s. They have decent food, a great drink list, and an inviting atmosphere… I’m kind of a fan of all Pubs so it doesn’t take much to woo me. I’ve only been to this location a few times and haven’t had any problems. It can get pretty crowded on the weekends around dinner time but it’s a pretty big location so I never have to wait very long. I love Llywelyn’s apps! Particularly their pretzels and cheese in addition to their chips and pepper-jack cheese. The chips and pepper jack cheese are pretty unique and AMAZING. I highly recommend getting a basket or two for the table. During my most recent visit I opted for the bangers and mash. It was fine but I wouldn’t order it again. It doesn’t compare to the bangers and mash at a lot of other great pubs in STL. The green beans in particular didn’t seem fresh… they had frozen written all over them. Next time I’ll probably just stick to the burger… always a safe bet.

The cheese sauce here is divine and probably singlehandedly raised the visit here above the norm! The visit got off to a rocky start as I didn’t have any ID so I had to share a beer with my wife(who is a few years my junior!). This is not so bad, I’m used to not being served in the US for one reason or another — Its pretty much part of the experience! The beer was a good one too. in fact the bar sells a few locally brewed gems which is always pleasing to see. Anyway…the cheese sauce. Our first encounter was as part of the starter. For some reason I expected chips and keep making that mistake. even though I’m aware of the different meanings. ‘Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me — you can’t get fooled again’ as they say in Tennessee and Texas. No matter the crisps were great and their spoonlike shape suited the sauce and I REALLY wanted to spoon with this cheese sauce! We met again inside a chicken sandwich. Once again it went with the meal perfectly. Unfortunately the house salad that we also shared appeared blander by comparison with the seductive cheesey creamy goodness! The salad didn’t really seem worth the price to be honest. I wanted to come here because of the Welsh name although when you take a look around its clear that LLewelyns is not quite sure where its from! There’s Welsh, Scottish and Irish heritage in the mix. It didn’t matter though –I liked the look of the place and the food and beer did not disappoint me!

I used to eat here a lot, but recently went back here for lunch with my dad and grandma and wife before a show at the Repertory theater. I got the roast beef sandwich, which is a solid choice. My wife was impressed with her steak flatbread which is like a large pizza(certainly shareable). The white-chicken chili is tasty. My grandmother had the broccoli cheddar soup and enjoyed it, and my father had the pulled pork and liked it. Overall, a very good experience. Friendly and fast service.

I have to admit that my expectations weren’t high at all for Llywelyn’s. I’d been to the location in O’Fallon, MO, and that experience was dismal at the very best. Chris is part Welsh and finds it super interesting that there are so many Welsh establishments in St Louis, so he really wanted to try it and to check out the beers on tap. Who am I to disappoint my mister? Because he didn’t want to risk losing it, he left his passport at home. It’s usually not an issue, but it did have an effect on us today, but to be honest, it wasn’t that big of a deal. The bartender requested ID, and I showed my own, but we explained that he was not American, and we didn’t have his passport with us. They allowed us to get one beer with my ID, so we just shared, which was fine by me. We ordered a basket of chips with a side of pepper jack cheese. The cheese was awesome. Highly recommended. For our main, we ordered the Llywelyn’s Chicken Sandwich and a large House Salad. The sandwich consists of a grilled chicken breast covered in pepper cheese and topped with fried onions. The house salad is mixed greens with white cheddar cheese, English cucumber, grape tomatoes, sunflower seeds and house fried onions. We got the Garlic Ranch and the Honey Mustard on the side. The sandwich was really yummy, and the salad was fine. Though it wasn’t what I’d consider to be the best meal I’ve had, It was very good. We enjoyed it and I’m glad that I got to try another Llywelyn’s.

It was a beautiful day and we had made the trek to Euclid Records, so why not sit outside and enjoy?! Typical pub fare. Salads were good. Homemade chips are extra special. Patio is perfect. Inside is huge. My guess they pack’em in for soccer matches. Smoking on the sidewalk, just off the patio, has got to stop. I took off a star

Get the pub burger with soft cheese on an English muffin or the Guiness stew, and you can’t go wrong. Lots of beer choices to choose from as well. They have a patio out front when the weather is nice, and half of the place is for large groups and private parties while the other half is for the public.

Doin’ the lent thang! Llyewlyn’s Pub is definitely not my scene. The Webster Groves spot is the third location that I’ve visited, and the neighborhood kind of defines my perception of the place. The Soulard location doesn’t really fit as well because there’s just so many better places to patronize. However, it fits really well in the Central West End and Webster Groves. For us Catholics, it is currently Lent, that means we are prompted to eat fish on Friday. Don’t ask. I don’t know! My friend had been asking me almost every week to eat at Red Lobster, and it just doesn’t interest me. When he mentioned Llywelyn’s Pub, I felt like that would be a definite upgrade. Is it a pub or a warehouse? This location is cavernous. It has a bar side, restaurant area, and another bar side! On a good night, I bet this place could hold hundreds of people. As far as adult beverages, all Llywelyn’s locations have a pretty nice beer selection. However, I am cheap and always looking for a special. They had some two dollar options, which worked for me! I ordered a two dollar PBR and waited for my friends. The bar was a little understaffed for lunch. They had two bartender handling the enormous bar, and they were also waiting on the tables surrounding the bar. For a Friday lunch during March Madness, I thought that the staff was awfully light. For the Catholic during Lent, Llywelyn’s had some decent options. Also, they had a special, the shrimp po boy! One friend ordered a fish sandwich, and my other friend and I ordered the special. The meal prices are all around ten dollars and more, but the special was just $ 7.25! Also, the shrimp sandwich was large and very delicious. As a hangout, most Llywelyn’s locations would get around three stars. I wouldn’t go out of my way to hang there, but I wouldn’t go kicking and screaming. The Webster Groves spot is probably three stars, but Friday was an experience worth fandom.
