Art and Air is one of my favorite events around town all year. Everything is so well done from the wonderful art selection, to the food that is always upscale and tasty, and the crafts for the kids, ending a wonderful evening with wonderful wine events and amazing music all together create an all around experience that will leave you excited for the first weekend in June every year! I would recommend this event to everyone from young professionals, families with kids of all ages, to empty-nesters for a night out! I always buy some one of kind art from artists from all over the country, including St. Louis, and attend the Robust Wine tasting Friday night and a great chocolate and wine pairing event Saturday night. Again it is one of my favorite events in St. Louis all year!

This year was actually the first year that I went to the Art and Air Fair, which is usually held the first weekend of June. I will be going again! There is a great mix of artists… and a great mix of artists from different locales, including ones from St. Louis. The artists are extremely devoted to their craft and are willing to discuss with you at length their wares and their lives. I actually really also like the fact that many of these artists are not at other art fairs in St. Louis; it brings a special flavor to the fair. The prices are very reasonable and represents all different price ranges. There are a lot of different booths, over 100 of them, live music, and art exhibits from local high school students. It does have a great community feel to it as a lot of Webster Groves residents turn out for it, and other Webster Groves businesses offer up their parking for the event, which is much appreciated. The community feel also comes from the artists themselves as they eagerly answer your questions and are just so enthusiastic about their work… it’s a great attitude and atmosphere. My friend discovered a new jewelry artist, and she was just so upbeat about her work, and it didn’t hurt that her pieces were just so reasonable. I found a painter whose work was just phenomenal, and he was so appreciative that I appreciated his work, that he threw in a free painting for me! If that doesn’t make me a patron, I’m not sure what would! The rapport you build with the artists is just amazing and one-of-a-kind. I haven’t been to another art fair where that has happened. Definitely a must go!

Art & Air is an annual art fair in Webster Groves. I’ve gone for a couple years now and I always have a good time. They always have a good line up of live music, a lot of booths, food & drink(alcoholic beverages included), hands on art stuff, and more. It’s a pretty big fair with several exhibitors from as far away as Oregon. Some local artists as well. Many different styles of art represented. It has a lot of different price ranges as well. I walked away with a unique looking«vase», which actually looks more like a small saucer with spikes to stick the stems of flowers in. It’s ceramic– $ 20. I also got a digital print from a lady in California. It cost me $ 80 but I absolutely loved it! Robust Wine Bar had wine tastings as well. Definitely something you should check out.
