Unbelievably disappointed! I had the«Today’s Special» patty melt. So dry I had to dip it in ketchup. The onions were hard. Absolutely no flavor. The cheese was not melted, & the fries that came with the special were cold. My husband & I are not planning on a return trip. The service was slow & even the wait staff apologized for the service. If you are not consistent in your business you will fail!

My husband and I love the burgers here. We also ordered the onion rings which are to die for. I never eat buns with my burgers and they had absolutely no problem wrapping my bacon cheese burger in lettuce and it was oh so yummy. We’ve tried sever different burgers here and have never been disappointed. Sadly we won’t be going back because of the change in ownership but we can’t wait to try Johns new place… Sheps!

Was working in town so I decided to hit up somewhere local. This place was great! I got the Cadillac Burger, and it was huge! The onion rings were HUGE! My waiter was great, got here at 12:10 and I was eating by 12:25! Check this place out if you have a chance

We ordered a Classic burger with grilled onions only and a Mexican hotdog. Delicious. 15 minute wait time at noon. Very nice waitress. Food very good except one order of fries not hot. Will come again.

What a cute, quaint place. Great micro beers on tap that were very cold and burgers were huge and delicious. We are in town to visit family and will visit again on our next trip. Wait staff was excellent.

Very disappointed this visit. Service lacked. Ran out of fries so they«ran out» and bought some… From a grocery store frozen section. Had chicken sandwich– BLAND. :(. I usually love this place.

As much as I like the food and beer selections, I’ve gotten food poisoning three times from big johns. Twice in the last 4 months. I simply can’t go back.

Our help was very accomidating and attentive without being obnoxious. The environment is very standard burger joint(only complaint is being short with such high tables). Two people split the fried mushroom appetizer, I was informed that the fried mushrooms were, «okay; not much flavor to them.» I asked to get a turkey burger in the lettuce wrap(which is combining two of their options) and they said it was no issue. Massive green leaf lettuce, the tomatoe slice added most of the flavor, and the turkey burger was just so so. Aside from myself, one person got the Oink Oink Moo(without veggies), and later regretted not asking for cheese. Another got the Original, with American cheese, and without veggies. He said it was decent. The final person in my party got the Swiss Mushroom burger, saying it was good but the bun is like a sweet sourdough. The bun is great with some burgers but not as complimentary with swiss and mushrooms. However, her onion rings are massive and delicious. The common complaint was that the burgers were a bit too well done, everyone wished that they had been a bit rarer. I believe I may come back again but it’s no place I couldn’t live without.

Heading back from Mineral Wells, we decided to stop off in Weatherford for a late lunch. Big John’s had plenty of reviews and was in a nice spot in town, so Big John’s it was. The place has more of a bar feel to it and looks like a pretty cool place to sit and watch a game. They have a number of good burgers here so it can make for a hard choice on which one to choose. My dad just went with their standard burger and I chose the Burger of the Month(whose name escapes me) featuring an onion ring, BBQ sauce, and cheese. I had heard the burgers here were huge and that was definitely the case. The burgers also come with a fairly large bun and this is a good thing, as the bun is nice and soft so it captures everything as you bite into it and prevents the burger from falling apart. Despite a few recent, negative reviews on dry/overcooked burgers, that was not the case with ours. Our burgers were large, juicy, and tasty, with mine made even more so with that delicious onion ring and BBQ sauce. Big John’s definitely lives up to its name with the big burgers it dishes out, so if you are craving a burger when in Weatherford, I think Big John’s is worth a stop.

I was heading to PK with my boyfriend on a Friday night and we needed to get a quick dinner, so he suggested Big Johns. He had been there a few times and really loves the burgers! Big Johns is located on the square in historic weatherford. Watch out the traffic circle is a bit tricky! The inside is a divy bar time place with local art on the wall, very cool! Our waitress Brittany, was wonderful! Even giving me samples of beers! I got the bacon cheese(cheese is extra) burger on a lettuce bun. The patty was huge and very dry! I had to ask for extra mustard to eat it! Next time I know to ask for my burger cooked med. rare. My boyfriend got a side of onion rings, stop the bus they were amazing!!! Too bad I’m on a diet or I would have eaten them all!!!

Really surprised this place has such good reviews. Went in today and had a coke, regular burger, and fried pickles. Including the tip came to $ 20. after placing the order I thought the prices were really high but figured it must really be great. In reality, it wasn’t even good. The fried pickles were just regular presliced hamburger slices that were battered and fried, for $ 6 I expect spears or thicker sliced to give it a better taste. The burger came dry. I asked for mayo and they brought it out in a small to go container with no way to spread it. The burger was pretty dry and not seasoned very well. The bun tasted good but just too much bread. The person I was with said the fries were good but had the same complaints about the burger and price. Definitely won’t be back.

I was a really big fan of this place but they’re on my shit list after a terrible dining experience this past weekend. My wife and I took the kids to lunch on a Saturday and they screwed up pretty much every aspect of our meal. –It was slow when we got there, but it took quite a while for them to take our order(and we never received a kid’s menu). –They brought my toddler Sprite instead of water. –They forgot to put in our order of onion rings and then made some excuse about overcooking the first batch and wanting to cook them just right. –My daughter’s chicken strips were burnt, had a terrible aftertaste, and ended up being thrown away. –I ordered the Cadillac(burger with pulled pork and BBQ sauce) but they somehow managed to forget both the pulled pork and BBQ sauce. I sent the burger back for the toppings, but they only placed a scoop of pulled pork with no BBQ sauce. So I had to take it back AGAIN. By that time I was pissed, my family was done eating, and the patty was so bland that I said screw it and didn’t finish the burger. The manager comped the crappy burger but also made excuses. It might’ve just been a terrible day for the kitchen, but I won’t be back any time soon.

One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. I’m not sure what the bun is exactly but it was excellent. The Intimidator is the pepper burger and the sauce is no joke, I ordered the burger with fried egg and added the pepper sauce and it was the perfect burger. I will return.

Whoops thought I did this one. I’ve been here several times before while visiting friends in Parker County. My buddy did the wood work for the place so he’s a regular and insisted we try it out for lunch one time. The burgers were spot on spectacular and Big John himself, aptly named, is a great guy. He checks in with all his customers and does a hell of a job making you feel welcome. If you’re in Downtown Weatherford and need a spot for lunch, this is the place you should be going. Great job John!!!

Great food!!! Carrie(I hope that is the correct spelling of your name sir) was fantastic. One of those waiters that goes out of his way to make sure everyone not only enjoys the food but their time at the restaurant.

I’ve came here a few times now and there’s a reason we keep coming back great service and tasty burgers. My family and I are really glad this joint opened up. Our burgers are always juicy and cooked to perfection. Sides are awesome loved the fried pickles and onion rings. They need to get a kids menu and kids cups and crayons that’s much needed.

Weatherford’s downtown square is so cute and Big John’s Burgers & Beer has found itself a good home. There’s a sense of nostalgia when you enter the doors and you have a choice of indoor or patio seating. We chose to sit inside since it was a hot afternoon. The décor is simple and vintage automobile inspired. Repurposed pallets have been given a new life to make back rests for some of the seating and the bar area is welcoming and beer-centric. They have a variety of beer for anyone’s taste. Now, for the food. Fried pickles are one of my favorite appetizers on the planet and ours were served hot with light breaking and ranch dressing. The price, around $ 5.50, I thought was a little steep but they were very good. I ordered the Nate and my husband ordered the mushroom and Swiss. 1. We loved the bread. It was super soft, a little sweet, and light so it didn’t overwhelm the burger. 2. Ample toppings. Whatever special burger you order, it comes stuffed. My slice of cream cheese was thick and I had a great deal of jalapeños. * The only thing I would change would be to warm the cheese and cook the jalapeños. I think it would have enhanced the flavor more. * The hubby said his mushrooms were great and there was plenty of melted cheese. Yum! 3. Meat was seasoned lightly and pretty darn tasty. Really good burgers and service.

I sat down and could not choose between onion ring or chips, so I had both The rings and chips are made to order and are delicious. Rings are hand battered and chips are hand cut, you can tell. I enjoyed the Oink Oink Moo burger(bacon cheeseburger). Burgers are served on a sourdough bun and are very thick, cooked very well but very juicy. Service was prompt but not hovering and the food came out in a reasonable time frame. No beer yet, waiting on a liquor license. Recommended
