Amazing service, amazing food, and just an over all amazing experience. We started our meal with the steamed mussels which were quite good. We were not expecting the hint of curry with the mussels but it worked very well(dip the supplied bread in the juice from the mussels. you won’t be disappointed!). For my main course I ordered the chicken BLT Alfredo dish and my girlfriend ordered the grouper. We loved both and had no criticism about either. The chefs table is a class act and we will definitely be frequenting this sweet find often!

This restaurant is stellar. The food is incredible and the service is always good. We especially love the goat cheese risotto balls, but we have yet to go wrong with anything on the menu.

This place was incredible! I had the Blue Crab BLT pasta and my husband had the Deconstructed Lasagna. WOW on both!!! Also, the Goat Cheese Risotto Balls were fantastic as an appetizer! Overall this was a great place and a nice venue.

I was super excited to try this restaurant — it has wonderful reviews and the menu looks great. We got the the restaurant and it’s very quaint and cute with an open style kitchen so you can see the chefs hard at work. We ordered a bottle of wine and perused the menu only to discover that both of the dishes we had been excited to try were not there. I ordered the brie salad which was nothing spectacular and I would skip it next time and try something else. J got the mussels and the broth was great — I’m a vegetarian so I skipped the actually mussels but he enjoyed them — we could get over how big they were. For entrees I had the vegetarian past special which was fried eggplant with fresh made pasta(you could see the chef making it to order through the kitchen windows) with a tomato, mushroom, and spinach sauce and J had the grouper. For me the entrée was great — the pasta was a little soggy and stuck together but the eggplant was the best I’ve had — so creamy. J liked his fish and said it reheated well. I think we’ll go back in the spring or summer and try a menu that is more based on fresh produce.

Lovely place. I had the mussel dish. Good coconut broth but mussels were rather small and not succulent. Grilled romaine was delish. Bacon at a perfect level of crispness. Seared ahi tuna was not bad! Considering the restaurant is located in a mountain town. Great service!

This place is delicious! We went based on the recommendation of a friend. We had an 8 o’clock reservation for 2 and weren’t seated till around 8:20. Its a small place and looks like people tend to stay and chat and enjoy their wine. The staff apologized profusely for our wait… the food was worth the wait. I had the stuffed flounder special and it was so good! The risotto was so good I could have eaten a bowl of it. They only had one dessert option by the time we finished eating, which was disappointing… the chocolate cake the tables around us looked really good! Be sure to visit this place, but be understanding that its a tiny restaurant and you may have a short wait!

This is probably the best restaurant I’ve eaten at in a long time… And probably the best in the Maggie Valley –Waynesville NC area. The food is unbelievable each and every bite. I understand the restaurant is owned by a chef and it shows. The food is just too good. It’s so tiny its hard to get in during peak week so call ahead.

Awesome!!! We had a great experience here. We started with the mussels which were really tasty, sweet but a little kick. Then I had the deconstructed lasagna which was absolutely amazing. My better half had another pasta dish, sorry cant remember the name, but it was great as well. We had a bottle of wine with dinner and the wines were very reasonable priced. All in all had a great dinner, appetizer, a bottle of wine for $ 100. Great service on top of that!

Had a late lunch here. Service was below par. 5 minutes waiting to order beverages; another 10 minutes to order meal. Server never checked on us regarding our meal or to offer refills on our beverages. Food was Excellent!

Yummy dinner! Spinach salad was really tasty with peaches and apples and a creamy tossed dressing. I had the unconstructed lasagna and it was good too. I would order these again. Highly recommend this place!

We were in NC for a weekend anniversary and chose The Chef’s Table and were we pleased. When they saw we were celebrating our anniversary, they offered us a complimentary champagne which was very good. Staff is extremely friendly and attentive but not so that they are intrusive. I ordered the crab cakes with corn and tomato risotto and my husband had the scallops with regular risotto. Both of our entrees were superb and the fact that they executed two different risottos so well was amazing. To full for dessert but coffee was excellent too. Will make the 280 mile round trip again, it was that good.

I really wished I lived in NC so I could come here more often. This was my third Christmas vacation in the mountains, in which my childhood best friends and I meet at Chefs Table. Every year we have gotten the same dish-Black and Bleu Pasta. It’s ridiculously delicious. Basically it’s consist of handcrafted noodles, hot off the press, drenched in a Gorgonzola cream sauce, and topped with a tender steak. You will struggle to finish it because the portion is large, however I somehow manage every year not to leave a crumb. We have also tried the goat cheese risotto balls and various side salads. Wine is BYOB with a modest corkage fee. Reservations are recommended due to the size. I believe there is one owner who does the cooking(Josh). He comes around and checks to see if things are good. The waitstaff is very professional and knowledgable. This is fine dining at it’s best. right here in small town USA. I love this place. Oh, not sure about dessert. we never saved room!

Once my grandparents passed away, my daughter and I didn’t have anything to do on Christmas Eve. We took a chance 4 years ago on going to Chef’s Table for dinner on Christmas Eve and it is now our tradition! We haven’t missed a year since! I love the atmosphere there and it is the only restaurant around that makes their own fresh pasta, butter, ice cream, desserts. Everything is made right there by the chef as it is ordered. It is by far my favorite restaurant in Waynesville. No other even compares in fine dining.

Very good, quality food. My wife and I were greatly surprised. I tried the Chicken Kiev and it was incredible. Give it a try, you won’t regret it. We sat at the bar and watched the chef cook.

Went on the recommendation of friends, was not disappointed. The flavors and sauces were outstanding however, the amount of food brought out was unnecessary and smaller portions would have been welcomed. The chef came out and spent quality time talking about the origin of the food. Overall, a fantastic experience. We look forward to visiting again.

This was recommended to is by owners of the B&B we were staying at(see my review for Mountain Mist Inn). The menu changes with the season due to them being a farm to table type restaurant. You must make a reservation on the weekends! We heard at least 3 people turned away due to the restaurant being full and no tables open until at least 9pm. The place is very small, they do have limited outdoor seating and a very small bar area. When you walk on you can see into the kitchen, pretty neat to watch the owner/chef work his magic on his tasty creations. Our waitress was very bubbly and could explain everything on the menu. They must be known for their wine, they had multiple pages of wines and a nice wine cellar type area near the restrooms. Jason ordered a Malbec and seemed to enjoy it, it was only $ 8 a glass. Not too shabby We ordered the cheese/fruit app, loved how it arrived at our table! See my pictures. The cheese was some of the best cheese we have had and Jason is a big cheese guy! I ordered one of the specials for the night-a local fish called trigger fish with a sauce made from the pan drippings, apple and cabbage and risotto! All gluten free. It was amazing!!! I think I love trigger fish and cabbage… Who would have thought. Jason ordered the trout– again gluten free. The sauce on it was like a thick sweet glaze. No idea what they made it with but yum! Te mashed potatoes tasted earthy and fresh. Of course we had to order dessert since we were there for Jason’s birthday! We had to go all out-we choked down on cloudless chocolate tort, not too rich or sweet. It was the perfect way to end a delicious meal! We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is in the area.

Hands down the best high-end restaurant in Waynesville. I can’t believe The Sweet Onion and Frogs Leap Public House have similar ratings because they are not even in the same league as Chefs Table. We went on a special event night and even though I had made reservations a couple day out, we still had to wait 25 minutes for our table. This is a small intimate place but that had made room for a group of ten. Unfortunately, we were seated next to them. The group was loud and obnoxious. Normally I would have walked out already, but while we were waiting for our table we were seated by the kitchen window and the food looked and smelled amazing. When we were finally served, all of my expectation were fulfilled. There are not words that can adequately describe this meal. Every one of your senses were tingled. The taste and presentation was everything you expect when you spend this kind of green. My wife had the filet, hands down the best beef either of us have ever tasted. I had the lamb shank and had no idea lamb could be elevated to that level. We are both looking forward to visiting again with hopefully a few less loud half-backs in attendance.

Easily one of the finest dinners we’ve had. We’re both foodies and lived in Chicago, a true restaurant mecca, for nearly 30 years, and I can’t recall a single meal that was better. I started with the mussels, a large portion done in a unique broth. My wife had the grilled romaine salad — quite large, original, and magnificent. My entrée was the deconstructed lasagna — again, original, imaginative, and wonderful. My wife had the eggplant parmesan — it was like nothing we could have imagined, and magnificent. Our waiter, Shane, apparently overheard me mention to the strangers at the next table that it was my birthday(they were celebrating a birthday as well), which resulted in a complimentary crème brulee, again one of the best we’ve had. Portions are generous and prices are a bargain. What a lucky find!

Most amazing meal we’ve had in a LONGTIME! My husband & I, celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary here! And it was an AMAZING choice! We’re from out of town, & literally googled this restaurant. One of the best choices we made. The deconstructed lasagna was BRILLIANT! Simply brilliant!!! I in fact detest lasagna, however my husband loves it. He ordered the lasagna & I ordered the black & blue pasta. Mine was delicious, but heavy on the pepper(which was good, but I’m not a huge fan of pepper). I practically stole my husband’s lasagna! We also had the quail legs… FUCKINGAWESOME! And Goat cheese risotto balls!!! Organism in your mouth!!! We were so full we couldn’t get dessert! The ambiance… VERY quaint & romantic! What I love is the restaurant is a HUGESUPPORTER of local farms, brewers, &ARTISTS!!! I WASBLOWNAWAY!!! There is nothing negative I can say! AND the staff were SOOOOOO friendly! It literally was 5 people running the whole place! And worked like a charm! You would have to be CRAZY not to try this place!!! Literally one of the best little restaurants this side of the Mississippi! Has so much culture, passion, & talent in every little bite!

The food here was really, really good! I had the caesar salad, which in my opinion was heavy on the horseradish, but the fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese were excellent. My husband had a mushroom risotto that was also very good, but the pan fried grouper was really amazing, and with bacon bleu cheese mash! It was clear someone had called in because our server was extremely overwhelmed, but he still did a good job and was courteous and honest with us about his predicament.
