I use to love this place, sadly; I will not be back. My mother, sister, brother and I have been frequent visitors. Since this store has opened, we have bought birthday gifts, Christmas gifts, leisurly reading and gift certificates. My little brother was abandoned by his father and I believe it is paramount for him to learn to converse and interact with older gentlemen at the chess club that plays here on thursdays. As I am his only male role model, bringing him here has been something I consider important to his growth into a man. His mother having no parents and her being a foster child makes his options for being around, interacting and learning from elders difficult. Today I went in, and asked for the wireless internet password of the day. I received a snide, «it’s on your receipt» … I said«I haven’t purchased anything today» and received again a cold«oh well»… AREYOUKIDDINGME !!! … I said, I have bought at least a hundred books here over the years and received a «so polite!» at this point, I walked out. I am soft spoken. I will never be back unless it is to soap box MS. HYDE on a Thursday, when all the chess players are present. This is the one of the only times my little brother can be around older gentlemen and this is what I get for it, cold, rude, Yankee comments. We live in the south, learn some manners.

Great atmosphere, the owners are warm and welcoming. For a small place the book selection is very good. A great place to discover what is happening in the community, network, have a delicious coffee and oh yeah… I can’t leave without finding and buying a new treasure! The children’s book section is varied and delightful, an important quality as far as I’m concerned!

The only Coffee shop/Book Store in Waynesville. It’s perfect. Not too huge, nice atmosphere. The coffee is excellent and they carry a small but very good selection of new books to browse, as well as great seating area on the upper level. It’s artsy but not old. I love stopping by this bookstore when I want quiet time on my laptop or when I’m looking for something new and interesting to research. GREAT place. Stop in and see them.

While I was a customer at the store,(or so I thought), I asked the woman at the counter for the wifi password. I was told that the wifi was only for customers. I said, «Well, aren’t I a customer right now? I am shopping at your store.» She replied, «You have to buy something first.» I said, «Okay, so I’m not a customer until I buy something. That’s new to me!» She said, «Yep, that’s exactly right.» I almost did a 180 and walked out of the store. Fortunately for the store, I had a couple of children’s books in my hands that I wanted to buy for my daughter. On principle, I should have just left with that kind of attitude toward customers. Last time I checked, anyone who SHOPS in a store is a customer! Oh, and then after I bought the books, the lady says, The wifi password is on the receipt.” I said, «Yeah, well I’m leaving the store now after my purchase, so that doesn’t really help!» Such a stupid policy, and what a rude way to regard me as a customer. Yes, I was a customer as soon as I entered the store! Durp! Anyway, I can see how the other reviewer on here would say that this place has a very Jeckyll and Hyde personality. Clearly, I got Hyde. I won’t be back, either. On a side, note, this store must have never heard of something called a graphic novel, because there are no graphic novels in this store. Graphic novels are extremely popular these days, so what was up with that? Not even in the YA section? Nothing? Not very current, are we?

I frequent Blue ridge Bookstore and Café at least three times a week and the owners and staff are exceptional hosts. I have bought many books there and support buying local. The bookstore has everything, all best sellers usually at 25% off msrp. They will order a book if they don’t have one. They have a nice café offering great coffees, teas, bagels, etc. Great local business located on south Main Street of quaint downtown Waynrsville, NC.

This is my 100th review!!! This place is quite awesome. They have a café with plenty of seats, which is nice. They have a large selection of books too. I paid about $ 4.81 for the small latte and bread. Better than freaking Starbucks any day of the week. I got a vanilla latte and a piece of banana walnut bread. Both were tasty. The coffee is rich. The bread is moist. They have outdoor seating and WiFi(probably not free because it was included on my receipt). It’s a short walk from the center of town too. This place is great.
