Steve’s Art Framing & Fine Art Supplies

I love the special service I get from Steve and his crew, but especially, he turns my pictures into gorgeous pieces. There is no other like him. He has a gift. I walk in with a watercolor that my cat’s been sleeping on, and 2 weeks later I have a beautiful rich piece of artwork. He chose the perfect matting and frame to set it off in its most beautiful light. I’m so glad I rescued it from my cat. Thank you Steve. You’re the best.

I like supporting the small shops rather than the larger retail chains.
.But I am discouraged to find that the few items I look for regularly are not always in stock… I use Twin Tip Sharpies and different widths of white artist tape often… These items are many times unavailable and the store clerk says «we can’t carry everything»…While I understand this, I don’t think my selections are that out of the ordinary…
I simply wait until they are back in or I special order them… But I do like shopping here…

So I would have given this place two stars but because they are one of the few small guys left that are still open, Im bumping them up to three stars. Your welcome Steve.
I was sad to learn today that boins in morristown had closed down due to bankruptcy. Insert frown and sad looking eyes. Now Mo’town has nothing in terms of art suppliers. Tis the royal S.
While doing the famous jersey jug-​handle to get to the famous, Michaels, I saw Steves. aaahhhhh a light was coming out of his store front window like a phoenix in heaven.
So i went. Small place, actually its more of a tiny place. I asked the sales guy to help me find a brush and instead of giving me an answer he just yapped on about synthetic vs real hair. Ok, thanks but you never answered my question so Im just going to nod until you go away.
Steve, you don’t have such a huge selection of oils — you def have more acrylics. When I come back, I would like to have more oil to choose from if that is ok for me to say. And they didn’t have any silk for painting and a silk stretcher either. I know this is a unique
type of request but it’s not that unique. Hence the three stars.
I did find almost everything I was looking for though and for a small store, they really jammed all the artists needs in. What they have that Mikey’s doesn’t is the small guy feel. I think this matters so I will go back to Steves. Im really upset about Boins — apparently there are only a few of us left in NJ who actually give a shit about small business owners. The agony.
