Went here and got a ton of stuff I needed for various crafts. Employees were so helpful! I couldn’t have done it without them. When I got home… I saw problems with my receipt. I was double-charged :(It happens. I was so worried that they wouldn’t believe me. I went in, and they were so understanding. We got it squared away painlessly! I will be back!

First, the customer service in this store almost always deserves 4.5 stars in my book. Joe is great, and there is another newer guy who is equally nice and helpful. The women at the cutting counter are sometimes in a bad mood, but there is a younger girl in there at nights who is nice. This is my closest store, and I frequent it often, so my review is based on years of trips. Compared to the Springfield store, most other stores are small, but even still, this is one of the smallest ones. The Glen Mills store seems to have more fabric selection, but is small on crafts, possibly a little bigger than this one. The Downingtown store is huge on fabric, but not as much of the decorator fabric or red tag clearance decorator bolts. Wayne does have a decent amount of red tag bolts, which is nice. They seem to have a more select selection if that makes any sense. There is a LOT to pick through at Springfield, and it seems there is more of the good stuff in Wayne. But before I encourage a crowd to come steal my goodies, I will(honestly) tell you that Glen Mills for some reason has by far the most and best red tag higher end bolts. The craft selection is limited in Wayne, so note that. While Wayne doesn’t have the selection that Springfield does for notions, the notions are always stocked in Wayne, which I can’t say is the case in Springfield. Springfield often has limited or missing stock on the most basic notions, which is really annoying – NOT the case in good ol’ Wayne. I do have to take one star off for Wayne’s very small size(and lack of inventory), and for repeated phone issues, which have been going on for years, and for which I have emailed and called CS about at least six times. I believe the phone issues are finally cleared up because the past 2 times I have tried calling, it’s gone through without a problem. Also, when I call Wayne to ask if something is in stock, I can count on it being there. I have wasted hours of time making trips to Springfield after they told me they had something(but wouldn’t hold it) only to find it gone when I get there. But you CAN count on Wayne(and Downingtown for that matter as well). One gripe about Wayne, I called and spoke to Mary today about some coupon info, and was really specific to explain all details, and even asked«are you sure, because I can get this offer at AC Moore, so if you can’t do it I’ll just go there,» and she assured me I could. Yet when I went to the store, I was informed she gave completely«incorrect info,» which ended up costing me money. Very unprofessional, and just plain wrong. Grrrr.

I have definitely been to nicer jo ann fabric stores. This location definitely an older looking one, but it was also very messy, in my opinion. It seemed to have a large selection of fabric, but not a great variety of other craft supplies. Worse than the disorganization was the staff. They really were not very friendly and when we attempted to ask for assistance with fabric sizing, the response was more as if we were an annoyance than anything else. I probably won’t return to this location over the choice of other craft suppliers.

Jo-Ann Fabrics has a mix of fabrics(and related items), craft, and art products. Their fabric offering is quite extensive, including a wide variety of types of material for clothing, home use(curtains, etc.), and so on. Footnote: There are at least 8 types of real camouflage(woodland, Realtree, Mossy Oak, etc.) cloth. The range of craft merchandise is fair, but art supplies are a bit thin. One would definitely find a much wider selection at Michaels, for instance. Prices are average, but substantial coupons(I’ve seen as much as 40% off) are sometimes provided if one gets on Jo-Ann’s e-mail list. Service has always been friendly at this location.

I’ve been coming to this Jo-Ann’s for years but the last trip here was sort of disastrous. I was helping a friend with a sewing project. After scouring the decent selection of fabric, we picked three great options and some interfacing. We explained to the salesperson cutting the fabric that we wanted enough fabric for 2 pillows. Not only had we measured the pillow, but we also brought it with us. Somehow we ended up with three different sizes of fabrics. I’m not exactly sure how it happened. Mostly because while she was cutting, I left my friend to explore the bead section. Now I love their bead section. This location carries lot’s of plastic and wooden beads great for craft projects for children. For more serious beaders, there are tons of glass, stone and shell beads. I usually pick out some more eccentric pieces at the bead store and then head to Jo-Ann’s to find the rest of my jewelry needs. There’s always some sale going on in this aisle. There’s nothing better than making a necklace that looks like it’d cost $ 75+ to make and only cost $ 15. Back to the shopping trip at hand. We got to the check out and the register freezes. Meanwhile, another salesperson had emptied the trash containing the fabric slip. Everything just sort of went wrong, and the worst part was getting home realizing that the store was closed and we had the wrong amounts of fabric. I do want to add that this is the only time I’ve had such a mediocre experience here but next time I will be watching like a hawk when they cut.

Quiet store that’s not super busy although i stopped by after work on a weekday. Good selection inside or at least it fit what I was looking for. need fabric? check. need thread? check. need yarn/accessories? check. need polyester filler? check. need scrapbook & materials? check. need decorations/fake flowers/vases? check. you get the drift. it’s what you’d expect from an arts and crafts store and of course fabrics :) Age range of customers is from teens to seniors(citizens that is) but all shop quietly side by side. And if you’re willing, sign up for their mailer and you’ll get coupons sent right to your mailbox.
