Foxx Beauty Supply

I needed to find a beauty shop with a good «ethnic hair» section. I put that in quotes because I find it an odd way to label things, but hey, I don’t make the rules. While I have Italian hair I have started dreads and needed product help. Foxx carries Knotty Boy products and that’s what my stylist recommended. The shop is located right downtown and has free street parking outside.
When I arrived the lights were on and the hours said the shop was open but the door was locked. The gentleman working came and let me in. He was there alone and I assume that’s why the shop was locked. We do that in my workplace, too. So if you go, don’t just walk away — knock and wait.
Foxx has a HUGE stock of all your beauty needs and their dread products line several shelves. They offer a variety of brands and products. I was asked what I was looking for (try as he might to hide it the shop worker was definitely surprised to see me) and then shown to the area. He asked if I was looking for a specific product and when I mentioned Knotty Boy he said, «Everything of theirs is right there but I’m out of a few things — let me know if I can help,». After looking around quite a bit and reading many a label I picked up the Knotty Boy dread wax that was originally suggested to me (he was out of the tightening gel).
I will definitely be back again. This shop is a little out of the way for me but the friendliness, selection and knowledge here outweighs the drive.

A great Black owned beauty supply that is well stocked clean and has great staff! If u live in the area u gotta check them out!
