One Star for the food, that’s it. Good riddance to this hell hole. Service was always slow and servers had attitudes. Any recommendation or complaint made to management obviously went to waste.

Welllllllll(as King Boo would say) I will admit when I’m at fault. I recall a time when Cheeseburger in Paradise was the stop to go to. Live band, open eating area, large drink selection, and high quality food was all present. Now the last item I mentioned may or may not have been true at one point. My memory might be a little cloudy on that one, but then again I think about Fuckruckers and I know for a fact that Cheeseburger in Paradise has lost a step. We had the most persistent waiter of all time constantly ask us how we were doing. He was tweakin, tweakin, tweakin, teakin, tweakin, tweakin, tweakin, tweakin. 8 times. Food wasn’t the best in the world and wasn’t the worst. It was good, but in comparison to how I remember it I was a bit let down. Asian mayo still on point though.

This location is now closed, and the only active location is the one in Secaucus. It’s too bad cause every now and again I do crave the wings, and this location was always quieter and less crowded.(I guess that’s why it closed). But the location was terrible, and all the little things they do to try and build business(like Karaōke night) just weren’t going to cut it. Plus, I think they depended heavily on clientele from the attached hotel, which also doesn’t seem to be doing too well.

I walked in here one day with the wife. The place smelt really bad. So bad, had to turn around and walk right back out. I really do not know why I bother with chain restaurants some times.

I liked this place better when it first opened I feel like they cared more. I had dirty table and rude waiter more recently. Great place to go if you want a burger and a beer. They usually have something going on happy hour maybe even some live music. Burgers have always been cooked perfect for me. I prefer sitting at the bar

I have never reviewed on Unilocal, but let me just say I was so appalled by the service that I NEEDED to create one. Anyway, we went to this Cheeseburger in Purgatory in Wayne, NJ yesterday during Cinco de Mayo. It was the WORST experience I have ever had as a patron in any food establishment. The service and waitstaff is terrible and I will never go to this location again. Let me start off by saying, initially, we wanted a hibachi place — however, due to the late hour and because we happened to be in the area, we went to the only restaurant pretty much open. That turned out to be Cheeseburger in Paradise in Wayne, NJ. As soon as we walked in, I knew we should have walked out. We waited to be seated in a non-crowded restaurant — for about 5, 6 minutes. The waitstaff, the hostess were all walking back and forth. I understand them being busy, but this was not the case. The majority of the patrons were at the bar. I had to go searching for a waitress to seat us and when I found her she was a complete spazz. The food was decent. The music was great for 5 de Mayo. Thats the extent of the nice words. The crowd at the bar was mixed. The bartenders, and some guy who looked like he worked there were giving out tee shirts and some other thing you can put around your neck. They gave these away to only the people they knew. Although I specifically heard the manager say hand them out to everyone sitting around the bar and the people at the bar(we were sitting at a booth next to the bar). One of the bartenders was handing shirts out in the bar area. He gave EVERYONE at the bar but two older patrons, shirts. When the older woman stuck her hand out to get a shirt, he shook his head and said he couldnt give her one. HOWOFFENSIVE. I was mortified for her. Her husband must have gotten disgusted because at that very moment he asked for the check. They paid and left. They also passed by our booth with tshirts and the like in their hands. They gave everyone AROUND us but not our table — basically only to people they knew. I know it was a stupid tshirt probably worth $ 2…but the point is — you are handing to everyone but you skip who you want to skip. That is distasteful, unprofessional and unbecoming… its a restaurant, not high school — you cannot CHOOSE your patrons and who you wish to serve. That is not good business and not good service. Aside from the tshirt fiasco, they mostly ignored us. They never asked how our food was, the waitress never came to check on us, the manager was nowhere around. Usually, I can be a VERY hard sell of a customer. But last night, I was extremely quiet… this is a sign that I am not happy. I never said a word because who was I going to speak to? Dweedle dumb or Dweedler dumber? This is not the first time I’ve heard from other patrons about the shoddy service at this location. But, because I had never been to that particular location, i’m always willing to give things a chance. It does surprise me, because I have been to the Secaucus location multiple times. Even when there’s a wait time I’ve never had a problem at this location. The waitstaff, manager and bartenders are ALL attentive. The service is excellent. The food is good and the last time we went a few weeks ago — our waitress was EXCELLENT. She took the time to review with us the specials she tried to form a line of communication with us. At the end, she got an awesome tip, deservably so. With this being said I think the Wayne location should have retraining or get rid of them all and hire people who WANT to be at work. If you hate working with people, you should not work in food service or retail. They don’t even merit ONE star but apparently you have to give them a star to get posted. And, if you had a great experience at this location — good for you, because trust me… that is the EXCEPTION, not the rule. If you want to go to a good Cheeseburger in Paradise, go to the Secaucus location or better yet, take it to go. It’s not worth the aggravation.

Since half of my family is gluten free, we were excited to try this restaurant. My celiac daughter thought it was great since they actually had gluten free buns and a dedicated fryer for the French fries. The rest of us were disappointed because the burgers themselves were completely devoid of any taste. It was truly like biting into tofu. How is that possible? The fries were limp and tasted like freezer burn. Portions were large, but the flavor did not encourage us to finish our plates. Would rather head to Five Guys next time.

Very disappointing. I was there for trivia night with 5 friends. A third of the restaurant was occupied. It took an extremely long time to receive our appetizers and our entrees were served at the same time. It strongly seemed to be the kitchen’s fault and not our server’s. I was expecting quality to be on par with T.G.I. Friday’s or Ruby Tuesday, but our entrees were were very meh. The Fried Pickles are okay. Desserts are dissatisfying. Cocktails are very pretty but seriously weak. I suggest beer or a Beer Tube(perhaps to share) if you want any effect. I would only come back to this place for another trivia night and make use of the lessons I’ve learned.

Ehh, I came here with some high expectations based on what I’ve previously heard but frankly I was disappointed. Service was as mediocre as the food, and the place needs to be renovated sooner than later. Ever get that time warp feeling like it’s the 90’s when you walk into a place… like whenever you walk into a Kmart or Sears… that’s what it felt like when I came here, not a feeling of paradise whatsoever. I’m a fair and fairly hungry guy so I’ll give this joint another shot in the coming months so look out for a review update on this one.

Well, we didn’t actually get to try the food… we arrived after dinner time at the Ramada next door, and called imediately to find out how late we could have burgers delivered(because I was ill, and having 3 children with us… one a teething infant… delivery was our only option). We were told that they deliver until 9:45. Calling back at 8:40 to place an order, we were then told that delivery service ended at 8:30. The manager, Mike W, was rude and argumentative. Definitely would not recommend doing business with this establishment. We ended up placing an order with an Italian restaurant — which had MUCH more reasonable prices, and awesome food.

I don’t get the hype Mr. Buffet! This is an okay cheeseburger joint with decent service and kitschy décor. The food was just okay overall(and I ordered a burger deliberately to see why people go there). It was a bit greasy for my taste. «Eh» fries, but good desserts and cool drink choices. There are better places around, even if you’re just craving a burger. I’ll only be back if someone begs me. One note about the location that didn’t affect my rating is that it’s a pain in the ass to get to. At the intersection of a bunch of highways, you have to make sure to go west enough and then get off at the local roads… I did a whole lot of circling to get there.

Good service. I’d give this place a 3.5 if I could. The place is called«Cheeseburger in Paradise» so naturally, me and my friend got cheeseburgers. I like my burgers nice and simple so I got the simplest thing they had. Plain burger, extra american cheese, lettuce & tomato. The burger was a bit greasy, sort of boring but it wasn’t bad, I liked it but the best part was the unlimited fries. Awesome fries, nice and thin and they taste pretty good with their cholula hot sauce. Too bad we were too stuffed to have dessert. It’s getting to be a really bad habit of mine, stuffing food in my face till I can’t stuff no more. But anyhow, do go here if you go to the golf course. Its a bit tacky but perfect for kids or if you want to save a bit of cash. Its understandable that the burgers are a bit expensive, you get unlimited fries!

Cheeseburgers in Paradise definitely had the«cheese» factor down. I headed over to the tacky chain restaurant to grab a drink with a friend after a challenging game of mini golf at the neighboring course. We entered the space, and I shuttered at the overwhelming and distracting décor. To make matters worse, we were then greeted by a MC, who declared that we had arrived just in time to join trivia night. Sure, I would consider jumping in on game night at a fun, popular bar, but at Cheeseburgers in Paradise, it was just a sad experience. We grabbed seats at the bar and ordered some beers, avoiding the menu of calorie-laden frozen cocktails. My friend convinced me to join the trivia challenge, but the game wound up being completely endless, because the MC would spend about 20 minutes on each question. As the night progressed, we could not take it any longer and decided to leave. I do not really see myself voluntarily returning in the future either. Cheeseburgers in Paradise offered a standard suburban chain restaurant experience with the added«bonus» of cheesiness.

Service certainly outweighs the food here, but what to expect from a chain restaurant? I’ve tried the conch fritters(good), wings(good), and a few of the salads(good). Drinks are a bit pricey and could use an extra dollop or two of the good stuff. However, if you come here realize this is a chain and not Le Bec-Fin.

Oh, Mr. Buffett, if only you actually visited your restaurants from time to time. :-( We tried out Cheeseburger in Paradise because we had a coupon. Now usually, I don’t like to review a place after just one visit, but we probably won’t be back, unless they send us a reeeeaaaaaly good coupon. To start off with the good point… five stars are for the service. Our waitress was friendly, pleasant and prompt. Far more pleasant than a tiki bar at a Ramada in Wayne, New Jersey deserves. The décor… minus one star. A tiki bar should be dark, but they gave it a good effort. Not too many people showed up for karaōke night, but it might have a good atmosphere on a busy weekend. The food… minus all the stars. For a place with«Cheeseburger» in the name(not to mention an entire song in devotion), you would think the cheeseburgers would be good. They are not. They are dry, with stale buns that are somehow also greasy. We had buffalo wings, too, which were the special that night. The hottest variety was OK, but the medium and bbq were pretty bad. The breading soaked up a lot of extra grease, so the Fella and I both had bellyaches when we got home. Maybe this is a place to go for fancy drinks and a tiki vibe… but don’t go for the cheeseburgers or wings.

Maybe it’s because I went on a Saturday afternoon but it wasn’t packed and the service wasn’t bad either. I had a snowcone or 2 plus mini Cheeseburgers. The dessert though. Chocolate Nacho? So good. I’d go back just for them!

Cheeseburger in Paradise in Wayne, NJ is an awful establishment. The wait staff is extremely slow and inexperienced. The ONLY reason this place gets two stars is because of the Fried Pickles. They are amazing! And don’t get me started on the amazing dipping sauce — oh boy, oh boy! This place could be better if they got new management. It’s one cheeseburger that certainly isn’t paradise.
