The food is, at best, tolerable. They attempt to create that good ol’ home-cooked feeling but it is ruined by the canned green beans and tiny salads made up of shredded iceberg lettuce drenched in ranch. I am typically a huge fan of little holes in the wall, but the food here just doesn’t cut it. In addition, the owner likes to share her unwanted political views with customers like me just trying to eat crappy food in peace, and my husband had major stomach problems after eating their undercooked eggs. We won’t be back.

Dirty little place with greasy food, canned vegetables, and red-necked owners.

My coworker and I came here for lunch while working in town for a few days. The place is small and located in a historic building downtown. At noon it was completely packed and we ended up sitting at the counter, which was fine. The menu is pretty small, with our typical sandwiches, burgers, and fries selections, but there were also a couple of specials on the wall. I settled on a BLT which came with fries and my coworker also got a sandwich. The server offered is the new garlic topping, so we tacked it on. The food came out quickly and was good. The garlic topping was a cream sauce that was dribbled on top and was quite tasty. The prices were very reasonable, too. My meal, served with water, was under $ 6. I liked this place and would come back.

Man I love this place, the chicken fried chicken was great, good portion size for a side salad, and the gravy was amazing. The service is good, super friendly and very talkative to everyone. The mashed potatoes were ok, recommend getting green beans or pinto beans for sure! I will be telling everyone about this great home cooking style charm!

We were getting HANGRY on our way to Austin, so we looked up any place that was open at 8:30 in the morning. I’m very happy we found this place because the food was delicious. The pancakes turned out just how I like them, a little crisp and buttery on the edges and fluffy on the inside. The price was even better. The bathrooms were… I just… I don’t want to talk about it. Well, okay, the point of this is to help people so I will. It was all the way in the back of the kitchen. You get to see the kitchen’s garbage, making me feel like my breakfast was about to come back up. The bathroom itself seemed moldy and it just had such a «swampy» smell to it. If you are needing to use the restroom, I suggest doing that before getting here or anywhere else after. Will still go back for the food!

Oh man, my buddy is an attorney in Waxahachie and we met up for breakfast here one morning. I love old school diners like this. We sat at the counter and I had country fried steak with eggs and pancakes and I think I ordered a side of biscuits and gravy. Man, this is the real deal. They cook your grub when you order it as you order it. This place just has that small town feel and you will not be disappointed. Love it.

Tried the Courthouse Café for the first time this morning and we will definitely be going back. I got the egg breakfast with toast, biscuits and gravy. Everything tasted ‘real’ and homemade. Not out of a box or power mix. My friend got the veggie omlet and loved it.
