Stopped here today as we were in the area. Definitely a cool place with a lot of items from organizing closets, clothes, small objects, bathroom, cabinets, desks, etc… I wasn’t looking for anything specific just kind of checking it out but they have a great selection of these organizational things in one spot. Also, the prices are pretty good. We bought a few items and the one thing that was annoying was the check-out. It was not moving. It’s one of those places where they waste everyone time that is standing in line signing up people for their rewards program. In our case the check-out lady would first ask the question, then sign them up(very slowly), and then scan their objects, and she seemed to forget to hit something, and found herself having to scan everything 2X. While the manager is at the front watching and playing some stupid game about racing who checks out first, missing the fact that she was taking way too long for each transaction(focus on the core competency before doing things like this, seriously). Anyway, I“ll be back, hopefully when the newness wears off it won’t be so busy and long and slow lines.

Nice store but very slow check out. Found 6 sales people congregated in aisle but couldn’t get them to open another register. Only 3⁄6 registers open while people in long line. Guess they think it looks good to have long line– crazy demand!!! Versus good speedy service. Walmart here come.

I’m ashamed to admit how much I love shelves and containers. It’s unhealthy. Coming here makes me feel normal among my peers. My organization supply addict family. First of all, it couldn’t be easier to get to. It’s just off North Ave behind Mayfair mall. There is a large parking lot in front of the store. Behind that lot is a two story parking structure which is going to be very handy in two months. You all know what I mean. Black Friday Sales! The mall is just on the other side so pop in to buy stuff to put in your new boxes/containers. I went on the second day of the grand opening and there was a line out front. My people! It wasn’t a long wait since I arrived only about five minutes early. As we all filed in, the employees greeted us with cheers and clapping. A standing ovation before I even decided to buy anything. But who am I kidding? I came here to spend! I was given a cart, a catalogue and sent on my merry way into the crowded abyss of goodies. First impression was that it looks smaller on the inside(anti-Tardis?) than it did from the lot. It’s not too much different from my old stomping ground in Chicago other than feeling a tad cramped. The aisles were full of shoppers, yes, but they were also only exactly two carts wide. There was no room for error here. Either hit the shelf or hit your neighbors as you wiggle through. My arm was quite a target. Rude. The products are no different than other locations. If you haven’t been to a Container Store yet, what are you waiting for?! Shop online and come in with a list. See and feel the products to make sure it’s the right one for you. If not, turn around, there are plenty of options. I also really enjoy the ample supply of stationary and gift wrap supplies. So, it’s not ALL containers. You might need laundry soaps or a chair. Maybe a funky coat hook. It’s. All. Here. The check-out process left a lot to be desired but it was opening weekend. With every register occupied it still took 15 to 20 minutes to get through. Don’t complain please. You know what you’re getting into AND they’re working out the kinks. Should be smooth as butter in a month. Remember that every person who signs up at the register for their POP perks emails will take an extra 3 – 8 minutes depending on how fast they type. I’m thinking the majority will be through with this before the big shopping season descends upon us.

A place for everything and everything in its place. I’m pretty sure The Container Store lives and dies by that mantra. Take any object in your home, the pointier and pokier and more oddly shaped the better. They can contain it. Besides the plethora of containers, they have tons of general organization stuff from hangers to dishracks, some décor stuff, and a section that would allow you to gift wrap packages in a way that would make Martha proud. The store lives up to the brand in style and cleanliness. If you’ve ever been in a container store, it’s exactly the same as that one. There’s something for everyone in here. It’s safe to assume that if you walk in you will be leaving with something you didn’t realize you simply MUST have. I will say that the price tags can be a little steeper than you’d expect or than you can find at other retailers, but I’ve had good luck with the quality in the past. I was lucky enough to visit on their Preview Open night, along with what felt like 500 of my closest strangers and the place was happening. Looks like MKE is pretty darn excited to get organizing!
