See’s Candies

If you love chocolate (and who doesn’t?) See’s Candies is a must stop for you. My favorites are the Milk Pineapple Truffles, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. The store has a nostalgic kind of feel, especially with the white lab-​coat type dresses the employees wear. When I remarked to one of them that they’re very I Love Lucy, I was told that the iconic episode I was referring to was filmed at See’s Candies.
Even more reason to love this store!

This is a must stop destination — the candy is awesome and reasonable — the service is wonderful and they wrap !

Yes, it’s a candy store, BUT IT“S SEE’S. I was hooked on this candy a few years back. I think its a great improvement over Fannie May, for example, and the Milk Almonds are like CRACK to me. Yeah, its just milk chocolate dripped over almonds, but it makes my mouth water, regardless!
So there I was, in Mayfair Mall, suddenly Robert stops and looks at me and asks, ‘Do you trust me?” I have this look on my face like, «Ummmm Yeahh…» and said so. Next thing I know, I’m being led through the mall, not being allowed to see where we are going… and arrive at our destination. See’s Candy. Needless to say, I go into the store and announce that we have commandeered the store ;)
We just cant get this candy here in Chicago. So I told the nice girl behind the counter…“Keep filling up that box with the almonds and don’t stop until I say so!” This of course recv’d a chuckle.
When I was ready to pay for my indulgence, the girl asked if there was anything else, I handed her two sugar-​free bars… this, of course, had the girl look at me with a joking expression. «Oh you must be kidding me, right?» All in good fun.
But overall, the employees were very helpful and courteous and quick to fill our orders.
FINAL SAY: Would I go back? Oh hell yes! :)

Best Candy & reasonably priced compared to Buddy Squirrel /​Quality Candy. See’s charges $ 18.80 a pound, Compared to the $ 26.95 per pound Quality charges. Glad See’s opened a year round store rather than the seasonal Kiosks. Store is clean & well organized. Staff is attentive & courteous. Upon entering, I was presented with a platter of chocolates to sample.
A multitude of pre-​packaged boxes are available. Custom hand packed boxes or bags are the way to go, you get exactly what you like.
I blame See’s for my chocolate addiction. Great addition to have!

I am a good Boyfriend! I stopped by here on Saturday and picked up a heart shaped box of chocolates for my girlfriend. This is a new store at Mayfair Mall, so I don’t know if the free samples are a regular thing, but it was a really nice touch and convinced me to make my purchase there. It is an extremely small store and difficult to navigate in a wheelchair, but the staff was very nice and helpful.
