We had brunch here the other day and it was pretty decent. I had the BELT& A which was messy, but yummy. The bloody mary’s were fantastic, I appreciate when restaurants don’t premix them. I like the atmosphere overall, it’s a trendy place with lots of seating options. Overall, I’d come back, but I’ve had been brunch.

High Speed Wit is amazing!!! The food and service are always solid. I don’t think the food or atmosphere are as good as Centraal(sister restaurant), but it is never a disappointment. The mac and cheese is off the chain and the sandwiches are always on point. Servers and bartenders are friendly and helpful.

Good for brunch in Wisconsin esp with a big group!!! I love everything there!!! Esp their quinoa skillet and bier mosa!!! Quinoa skillet– after I finished eating this dish, I was wishing to eat more haha! It was so good! If you are vegetarian or if you want something healthy, order this! You won’t be disappointed! Bier mosa– it’s a good beer version of mimosa :) not too sour or sweet. Just right… I love it! :) Service is good. Very clean restaurant. I will come back !!!

The food was plentiful and pretty darn tasty. I enjoyed the Bourbon pecan waffles the most out of all of the food that was on our table(yeah, I had to taste everything). The beignets were light and fluffy and I would definitely get those again as well(we had 3 orders in one sitting) The lemon sauce that was served with them was my favorite. Our server was pleasant and very attentive. He was pretty darn cute too(reminded me of a young Judd Law) The cost was a little spendy, but it was worth it to me. Nice atmosphere for a group, family or even solo!

Great service… Not too long of a wait on a Friday night… But the size of the fish at their other location on the east side was double the portion

Came here an afternoon last week. It was packed but we got seated after only about a 10 minute wait. We had the cheese curds as an appetizer. And I had one of the grass fed burgers and a nice Belgian quad to wash it down. Burger was fantastic Staff was friendly. My only gripe was that I ordered the burger medium and it came a lot closer to well done. But it still tasted good so I didn’t bother sending it back. All in all, a good experience. I will be back.

CHEESECURDS! Sorry… just had to make that my first statement because Hollander is often my first stop when I come home to Milwaukee(depending on flight arrival time, of course). This most recent visit was no exception. One needs to take in the homey atmosphere — fun, a bit eclectic, warm, friendly… and then order some good munchies. Cheese curds always fit the bill! Wonderful service as per usual. Extensive bier list for those interested parties. Love this place — always a must visit. See you all again soon!

Great experience! Went with a group of 13 people — servers were exceptionally attentive and prompt. Kaitlyn kept track of all our orders, even when we were milling around and ordering drinks, and we all received separate(and correct!!) bills at the end of the night with no fuss. The food was very good and all arrived at the same time! I would have given it 5 stars, but the parking situation is a bit difficult — don’t park in the Chancery lot or odds are good you will be towed! Had to move my car to the lower lot on the advice of the server.(Thanks again, Kaitlyn!)

First time here today. Wow what a treat. Totally different than the other Hollander group restaurants we’ve been to. Those are all Belgian with a flair for the Walloon(French leaning). Think frites. This is German/Bavarian style. Think HB. We had the plank and all I can say is wow!!! Everything on it was great. The star for me was the pork belly. Perfectly cooked and in a red wine vinegar sauce. Simply amazing. Also great was the home made pork rinds(huge fan of PRs since early lo carb days). Summer sausage, Braunschweiger and currywurst were superb too. Also came with two mustards and a green chili sauce. Also on the board was a tasty red cabbage with bacon slaw and apple chutney. Yumtastic. We also ordered the pretzel(food overkill but why not) and now I’m in a food coma for the next week. Great atmosphere, friendly and helpful waitstaff and perfect location in Tosa makes this place a winner in my book.

My friend and I had brunch here this weekend. Excellent mimosa and she was pleased with her Bloody Mary. Our server was good and accommodated by giving us time to catch up before ordering. I had the Brew City Benedict and it was amazing! A cheese and hops biscuit — to die for! I wanted to order a side of extra biscuits! Homemade sausage patty with a perfect poached egg and yummy hollandaise sauce. The side was roasted potatoes that was so yummy and crunchy but not burnt tasting. The only thing missing was Parmesan for the potatoes but they said they don’t carry Parmesan. Prices were pretty good as well. Will definitely come back for that Benedict!

Kwak on tap. You’re still reading? Not en route yet? Okay, I’ll elaborate. Kwak is the best beer ever created. Beers are far better on tap than they are from bottles. Those are proven scientific facts.(Those research grants are very competitive.) So, this place has Kwak on tap.(Little known fact: crack cocaine was named for Kwak, which is just as addictive.) I lumbered into here on a cold February evening and proceeded to have the best meal in quite a while. Besides the Kwak, I had a Belgian-style burger, with bone marrow mayonnaise(which is far better than one might think). The fries were excellent, served with three sauces: sriracha/ginger, basil aioli and roasted garlic aoili. I talked at length with the bartender and the manager, who were exceptionally friendly. Ah, and for dessert … pecan pie made with … that’s right … beer. More specifically, Gulden Draak, another amazing Belgian beer. Whatever creative genius figured out how to inject beer into pecan pie should be awarded a Nobel Prize. By the way, I’ve spent quite a while in Belgium, and this place holds its own in comparison. My only complaint is that I discovered Café Hollander the night before I left the area, or else I certainly would have gone back again, and again.

The location in Tosa has so much charm. We sat by the window overlooking the river. I ordered the Godfather Bloody Mary which had good flavor and was not too thick. I had the Hot Mess skillet and my friend had the Cinnamon streusel French toast. The skillet was not greasy and cooked well. The French toast was fluffy and the butter was flavorful. I also recommend their other restaurant Benelux. Great patio to enjoy drinks and good food on a summer day.

Im not giving Café Hollander 5 stars because it is comparable to fine dining, but because it is reasonably priced and the food was delicious. I ordered the«duck duck burger» and sweet potato fries… very good. Hummus app also good, but would be cool to have more pita to go with the large amount of spread. My drinks were tasty and the server was on point. The menu selection is great with a ton of options-Will return!

My favorite place to eat in Wauwatosa! Great brunch and dinner menus and a respectable selection of beers to choose from. I get the goat cheese bruschetta every single time without fail. It is so good and something that I keep meaning to recreate at home. I recently tried a salad, can’t remember the name, but it had arugula, apples, pears, toasted almonds and a honey lavender vinaigrette — highly recommend. Another favorite is the turkey avocado wrap, which also has bacon in it, and a sriracha ranch sauce… Sooo good. And I have never been disappointed by their Mac and cheese, as well as sweet potato frites. I actually don’t think I’ve ever left here less than satisfied. Great place to grab a bite to eat or beers with friends in Tosa Village!

I like Hollander… this one in Tosa is a go-to brunch spot for my husband and I. It tends to be a little less busy than the one on the east side, which is totally fine for me. I like their bloodies, their coffee drinks are good, french press is good. For food, my normal order is the quiche lorraine which always hits the spot. If you are looking for something sweeter, the french toast is pretty good too! I had the crepes last time, and that was maybe the one dish I didn’t care for — way too much cream cheese for me. I will continue to come here for a good brunch, and I am excited for the Hollander to open up in Mequon by my work!

Went here after some time in the Tosa Farmer’s Market! We used the NoWait app to put our reservation in while browsing the market, which was pretty nice! The upstairs is pretty open and has a great view! The tables along the window slant towards the center of the room(floors are warped?) so as the waitress said, be careful where you put your drinks as they like to slide down the table. The food was fine, the bun on the burger I had was soggy so that less than desirable. The curry ketchup was unique and really good — I did enjoy that! I’m interested in trying more of the dipping sauces. They have a solid beer selection and pairing suggestions with their food which makes it fun.

Highlight/Lowlights 1) great atmosphere 2) awesome brunch menu 3) beer pairing suggestions with all entrees If you haven’t had Café Hollander brunch, get there now! We visited the downtown Tosa location which is right next to sister restaurant, Café Bavaria. The atmosphere is great, casual but still with personality. The space is huge with seating downstairs and then even more seating upstairs. If there is a wait you give your phone number and are texted when your table is ready, if you download the app you can even see where you are in line. Brunch is served until 3pm on Saturdays. The brunch menu consists of sweet options like, cinnamon streusel french toast and Makers Mark bourbon waffles and also savory options like a quinoa scramble, a breakfast«Sammy» on a pretzel bun or a cup of bacon. All entrée options have a beer pairing, even the brunch options! Not a beer person? No problem! There are two mimosa options as well.

*This is a long one… please read to finish!* This was a brunch to remember. The family and relatives stopped in to grab some Sunday brunch. I called before I got here and the waitress said that it was not busy because I asked if there was a wait for tables. She said no it isn’t but it could change at any moment. Yes she was right because it took me about 12 minutes to get there and there were no open tables. We slid to the back of the restaurant towards the end of the bar. A table of 6 was just leaving and we knew that this was our table. Right? As we waited for our table we watched the bartender service everyone but us, it seemed. She finally came and asked did we know what we wanted. I would think she would say any questions, these are our specials or I could recommend this for you. Nope! After waiting for 35 minutes we sought out someone to ask if we could be sat, seeing that this table for 6 has been empty and not cleaned for the last 20 minutes as we just looked at it. We were told that it wasn’t our table and we would have to wait another 10 minutes. 5 minutes later we were sat at the table that was open for nearly 25 minutes. This is where it all went to hell in a handbasket. Upon looking at the menu there seemed like so many wonderful choices. We settled on the cheese curds, the beignets, a side of breakfast potatoes, the chicken and waffles, the Americana and the French toast. The chicken and waffles were originally corn waffles. I don’t know why a person would want a waffle made out of corn mush? It was topped with a poached egg and some sort of southwestern cheese sauce? Not so much. We asked for regular waffles. We were given regular waffles except for one and it was sent back. We also requested to have the sauce and egg on the side. The cheese curds were over cooked almost burnt and rolled in pretzel dust as the flour. The pretzel over powered the flavor of the cheese which is the star in this dish. We also ordered beignets, which were cooked perfected but they didn’t taste like donuts. They tasted like fried bread with a bag of powdered sugar on top. The Americana breakfast which was eggs, toast, and potatoes was less than rememberable. Finally the French toast was made with really thick bread. Either the bread was really too thick or they didn’t let it soak in the mixture long enough. My opinion it was both. I had the breakfast potatoes with a side of fried onions. The potatoes were good by their self. The onions tasted like butter, pure butter. I don’t know how you don’t know how to sauté onions but geesh Louise. This has been my second experience with this group The lowland Group. I had the exact same problem at Café Benelux, soupy butter onions with no texture other than greasy. The only bright side would be my waitress. She took everything in stride and didn’t have a frown or negative thing to add to our experience. This was unlike the woman who I am assuming was the manager. She walked around didn’t engage or smile. A cup was broken at our table she cleaned up the glass and not the water? So you worry about me cutting myself but not if I fall? With the amount of issues with the food it should have been a priority for the manager to address the table. She or he didn’t. Another case of more style than substance. Someone needs to let the public taste these menus before they ask for money for these items. The chicken and waffle was a disgrace to a dish that our southern neighbors have made famous. And these Paula Deen special butter dipped sautéed onions have to go Lowlands group.
