After my previous experience back in 2013 I can honestly say they have gotten a bit better. Drinks have came along a long way. I would say food has gotten a bit better just wish the chips and salsa could get an improvement. One last thing… Past few times we were eating close to half hour before closing time the waitress would start vacuuming giving us the impression that they wanted us to leave right away.

What a horrible experience. Here for the MidWest GeoBash 2014, we called and asked how long they were open, they said 10PM, we pulled at 9:35, the ‘manager’ opened the side door by the bar and gave the ‘chop the head off’ sign. Coming back out and saying, «We’re closed!» I explained I called 5 minutes earlier, and asked if they were open. She said again, sorry, we aren’t open, we closed. This is horrible, we drove over thinking we had taken care of business, guess I know why they have pathetic ratings! STAYAWAY! They don’t deserve you money, trust, or time!

I gave this place 3 chances. Food is Taco Bell quality but over priced. Margaritas like Karo syrup. Service slow as frozen Karo syrup. Service OR should I say dis-service is the only consistent thing about the place. It was consistently slow. It was very clean. Attractive outside too. They also have WiFi. We arrived at 11:50 a.m. Left at 1:20 p.m. The restaurant wasn’t terribly busy but Becky appeared to be the only WAITRON. Becky our server was clearly annoyed at something. She finally asked us what we wanted at 12:15 in a dry catatonic state. Then at 12:35 she served us with complete indifference our beverages then took our order. I asked if I could taste a small amount of their margarita like half a shot glass. I told her if it was too sweet I’d only refuse it and I didn’t want to waste the drink. It was then she made unsmiling eye contact like seething hidden anger, like… REALLY?! I have do as you ask? Who do you think you are? Shortly after a couple with a child came in and she was extremely happy and glad to see them. At 12:45 we were served. Food warm but not hot. At 1:00 she asked us were we ready to order dessert at 1:05 she served it to go like we asked. It was miniature serving. At 1:15 she brought the check at 1:20 she brightly smiling said thank you and have a good day! She actually sounded sincere. I asked her to give us an itemized bill she did this every quickly as the restaurant was almost empty. I rarely tip less than 20% and almost never tip 10% but I tipped her 15% because I’m fairly sure she has a difficult life and I know how that feels. The fact that the food is lukewarm and they only have one server at lunch would make anybody want to sneer at the hungry public. I find it difficult to express this negative experience and I did record it for YouTube on my IPad. But I won’t upload the YouTube as long as I can keep this review on Unilocal. The Fulton County residents deserve better service. Management should have recognized how slow our service was. Clearly management was not concerned.

I would say that this place is nearly below average for a Mexican restaurant. I went to dinner here with family one evening and I got the evening taco special. They were overwhelmingly greasy and the salsa was bland. The atmosphere here is just awkward and out-of-place, and there really isn’t much Mexican décor. Also I must comment that our server managed to charge me double for the bill. They fixed it after I caught the mistake, but had I not noticed it would have been free money for them. I don’t think I will ever be going back anytime soon.

Nope. I went there with three friends after a movie and none of us had a good meal. I had tacos and there was something about the meat that tasted… Old or fake? And even the chips and salsa sucked.

If you are looking for a «Hungry Man» frozen dinner quality dinner, look no further. If you are looking for a good Mexican dinner, look further!

Mexican food is my fav… this is far from it. Everything I ordered was bland and the margaritas are too sweet with little, if any, tequila. Too bad.

Came in here for dinner with some friends and family. We were seated and proceeded to wait for 50 minutes to put our drink order in. Another 30 minutes to get our drink at which point we asked for our bill. Not going to recommend this place with speedy service like that.

Sorry but not impressed. Margaritas were very sweet. Salsa and chips were o.k. Chicken nachos tasted like canned chicken — no taste. Not in my top 10 for Mexican. Needs help all the way around.

My mom and I came here after a long day of geocaching. We were most looking forward to cold drinks. The Grasshopper delivered on that! The service was very speedy and the drinks were as cold as advertised. The food was ok. The chips are a bit heavy and the salsa is more of a sauce. The tacos, however, were excellent. Overall, I think that I’ve been really spoiled by great Mexican food back home and tend to expect a little more. After reading other reviews, I think that we will try Los Mariachis next time.

Good cheap beers, fast service and the bean dip is pretty rock-on. My cousin(yeah, still not the douche canoe) and I ended our day together drinking on the patio here(is this the only patio in the FC?) and our server was bringing out new drinks almost the moment we finished one. She must be psychic. The food I sampled pales in comparison to the original in Adrian [did I ever tell you the story about going here when I was in college? No? Never mind.] But as the final leg of hanging out with my cuz this was as good as any.

The Grasshopper is just okay for my tastes. It earns a solid 3 stars from me for being good, but not great. The food is fine, the service is fine, the prices are fine. Nothing stands out as particularly good or bad. The pureed salsas are a bit weird to my palate, and I’m not a huge fan of the chips, but otherwise it is a run-of-the-mill Mexican place. It doesn’t seem very authentic though, if that matters to you. The Grasshopper’s real downfall is that it isn’t the best Mexican place in town. Nothing about it distinguishes itself enough to make me want to come here instead of Los Mariachis just down the street. If you give this place a try, you’ll probably have a decent meal, but at the end of the day, personally, I’d rather go to Los Mariachis and get better, more authentic Mexican food.
