Usually a nice experience but the last few times we had nothing but complaints. We waited almost an hour for food and was told by our waitress that she had other tables that were drinking. our waitress also told us 3 times after almost 40 minutes that our food would be right out. After that she came back twice before our food actually came out. When it came out, it was not very hot and 2 people who ordered the same dish were very disappointed in their pesto pasta which consisted of olive oil, noodles, and sun dried tomatoes. After finally saying something, they manager did take off the meals but we didn’t order a replacement due to the fact we would have to wait another 20 minutes. — once we moved to the bar the experience was good as always but very disappointed in service & kitchen.

We were coming back from a weekend in Chicago so we got off the turnpike and went here. It was about 10 minutes from the Ohio Turnpike and in downtown Wauseon. We were thinking small town diner with charm and 50 plus years old. Instead this place much to our surprise is new looking with a bar and a restaurant that has table clothes and cloth napkins! It was quieter and has a menu that ranges from sandwiches and salads up to full meals including some nicer entrees. We almost walked away when we saw the dining room as it seemed mote formal at first, but after we sat down we found a mixture of people dressed from casual in shorts and tank tops to better dressed. There is an outside patio and from the front it looks like a bar and grill but from the side more like a formal restaurant. As for the food quality, it was pretty good and the portion size was just about right. The service was friendly as well. The place does seem to struggle a little with identity but I liked it anyway. It was clean and had a new feel that was masculine in nature due to the brick and tile used. Its worth trying the place if you are from around that area for sure but if you need a place to eat and are on the turnpike and don’t want fast food at the rest stops it might make for a nice little side diversion as long as you aren’t on a long drive as you will use up 20 – 30 minutes going to town and back.

Food is good, at least the ribeye steak. Not the best restaurant i ever been but regarding what is in the area, certainly one of the best. I recommend

Had dinner here last night. Great variety on the menu. Decided on the perch dinner with veggies. Fantastic choice. Found out the perch are caught locally in Lake Erie. Done perfectly. Even the asparagus and broccoli were done to perfection. Waiter was first class and very attentive. Will return next time theough town.

Decided to finally try Sullivan’s after living nearby for so many years. It was okay. I was impressed that there were a few things that me(as a vegetarian) could get, considering that it’s a steak house/burger type place located in a rural town like Wauseon. The décor is very cute and clean. Our service was excellent and we had an awesome waitress. My husband got the portabella fries as an appetizer, which he really enjoyed. We also got the spinach dip, which was pretty good as well. My husband got a black and bleu burger, which he said was good but not great. To be fair, he always orders burgers like this and it takes a lot to impress him, apparently. He always says that. He did like the skinny fries and wished he got a salad when he saw mine. I got a veggie wrap with a salad. The balsamic dressing was not good and only tasted like vegetable oil. The rest of the salad was pretty good and very fresh. I was disappointed by the veggie wrap. I added pepper jack cheese to my wrap, as it doesn’t come with cheese but the dressing of my choice. I opted for no dressing and cheese instead, which after trying the balsamic I’m glad I did that! However, the tortilla was grilled on the grill before they assembled it, probably right next to my husband’s burger. Let me point out again that it’s a VEGGIE wrap, in a small town like Wauseon, Ohio. The only people that are going to opt for a veggie wrap there are going to be vegetarians. So we’d prefer that our wrap doesn’t taste like a hamburger, thank you very much. I appreciate when restaurants add vegetarian options, but please for the love of God follow it through! I feel like I need to make a billboard(or many of them) about this as a public service announcement. I commented to the waitress that I wasn’t even going to finish my wrap(after a few bites) because of this, and she made no offer to replace it but did say she mentioned it to the manager(who didn’t come over either). By this time, I was full anyway or I would have pressed harder about this. I hate sending food back though or asking them to remake it. We also got a sundae for dessert, which was perfect for sharing and only $ 3. I will probably go here again, but request that the tortilla not be grilled and try a different salad dressing. It’s not going to be my new favorite restaurant though for sure.

I was really impressed with the atmosphere — casually stylish. The menu had a nice selection of items, all of which were reasonably priced. There was plenty of parking as well. All in all, a good experience.

What a gem! We were passing through this town. Hotel recommended Sullivan’s. Food and service were exceptional. I had salmon sandwich w/side of fresh green beens. My husband had spinach salad w/loaded baked potato as a side dish. The salmon was cooked to perfection served on fresh focaccia bread. Green beans tasted like they had been picked that day. All spinach salad ingredients were just as fresh. Salad included ample serving of blue cheese. We saw several steaks and burgers being served that looked terrific! Menu had good variety, something for everyone.

I had the steak tri tips and thought that they were delicious if a little heavy on the onions. I greatly enjoyed the atmosphere.

Cool place. We had Walleye and Perch dinners and both were outstanding. Very great service and classy vibe. One issue is the red wine by the glass list – horrible. But nice craft brews on tap. Check it out!

Oh my gosh what an amazing restaurant. First we were greeted at the front door by a hostess who took us to our booth and was polite and kind and very courteous. Rebecca, our waitress greeted us and took our drink order and brought us bread. The bread was warm, and the butter made it perfect. She gave us recommendations that turned out to be unbelievable! My stuffed pork loin was truly wonderful my wife ordered the rigatoni bologanase, in a beef and sausage homemade sauce. The asparagus and fresh green beans provided balance to the pork. Our son got the New York strip steak, cooked medium with good char and tender center. Here for the Midwest GeoBash this is truly a great find! One we will make sure that we frequent with every upcoming bash, thanks Sullivan’s!!!

We decided to give Sullivan’s a second shot. We received some gift cards from our dentist. Thank god I didn’t pay for that meal. I ordered fried perch. What should have came out crispy on the outside and soft and flaky on the inside had the texture of a rubber tire. There is never a reason you shouldn’t be able to cut fried fish with a fork but this place managed it. My wife ordered the Veggie wrap. She said it was good but how can you mess up diced vegetables in a tortilla. We still had about $ 15 on our gift cards after the bill. We just left the gift card on the table and walked away. unless this place ends up on kitchen nightmares and Gordon Ramsey asks me back I think I will stay out of Wauseon for dinner.

Worst customer service ever! Owners daughter is the«manager» and all she cares about is getting herself drunk as well as her friends. Ordered a hamburger and it came out at least a half hour before my wife’s food came out. This is the second time I had a problem with this place in a month. The only good thing that got going is there beer selection.

I have to knock my rating down to three stars due to poor customer service. We’d been coming here more, this having become one of our favorite restaurants. But a week ago for our third visit in the past month, we had a bad experience. The prior week we had gotten the lobster dip with pita chips appetizer, and it was incredible. So for this trip we got it for our appetizer, and one of the other two couples who were with us also ordered it based on our raving about it. But when it arrived, the chips were bad. They tasted very stale and were mushy. You could fold them in half and they would slowly return to their original configuration. We alerted our server, who said she would go to the kitchen to see about them. When she later came back to our table, she said«the manager didn’t come to see you?» We said no and she pointed out the manager, a young blonde girl. But the manager never came near our table, so eventually one of us got up and went over to her, asking her to come over to our table for us to explain the problem. She was abrupt with us, but said she would check. The manager never came back, the chips were never replaced, and both of us had a terrible tasting $ 9 appetizer left on our bills. The server did her job, but the manager obviously never had any intention of doing anything to resolve the problem, her whole approach being one of avoidance. I find it surprising they would have someone that immature working as a manager on a Friday night. We’ll be back I’m sure, but this has defiantly left a sour taste in my mouth, and the next time I have a problem there, I’ll show them the respect they showed us.

After the«mysterious» fire that razed Doc Holliday’s on Fulton Street several years ago, I wasn’t sure if something with flair would ever replace it. Not only did Sullivan’s step up to the plate, but they hit a home run. I met my cousin(not the douche canoe) here the evening of our family reunion and was pleasantly surprised by the library of liquor before me, and their non-run-of-the-mill specials, which included several margaritas in flavors not typical of the FC. But I wasn’t after that. I wanted to see how the bartender fared at making a gin martini. I watched her suspiciously by was soon put at ease when she presented me with a glorious crisply chilled glass of liquid love and fire. It was perfect. My cousin stayed on the fruity side of the drink menu and my samples of his drinks(Sex with the Captain and Back Yard F*ck were two colorful names) were okay but I’m not a sweets guy. The followup dirty martini was just as good, and made better by the house-stuffed blue cheese olives. These cats stuff their own olives! I suggested garlic but that might have been too extreme. I didn’t get any food, but would like to try that next year when I’m back. So, I hope Sullivan’s is still there. And who knows, maybe they will have gotten up the courage to stuff those olives with garlic or jalapenos
