We stopped at the store on our bike trip across the US. A rear spoke on my bike had broken and the staff took us in right away and quickly replaced the spoke and checked everything out before we went on our way. They were friendly, helpful, and genuinely interested in what we were doing. Thank’s to Ethan and Lance at the Trek Bicycle Store in Wausau for taking the time to quickly replace my spoke and get us on our way.

Service is over priced, and of unacceptable quality. I have owned a Trek Marlin for 3 year now and have always taken it to the Trek Store of Wausau to get fixed… and time and again I have told them what is wrong(every thing from brakes to shifting problems) and every time I am promised that it is fixed only to find that when I am on the trail, nothing is fixed. I paid 650 for my Marlin and expect to have a decent, well working bike for that price; not to be lied to because they can’t find anything wrong. Another issue I have had with this Trek store is there«trade-in» policy. For my 3 year old bike with new tires, no scratches and well maintained bike, they were reluctant to offer even 1⁄3 of what I paid for it just 3 years ago. The bike had never been abused, misused, wrecked, dropped etc. In fact, I was told I would get better money to(and I quote:) «sell it on craigslist». Builer’s just gained a customer

Do NOT go here. This shop comes off as nice, and I’m sure there are some great people employees there, but the shop manager is running a dirty business. They have tried to come up with their own warranty program vs Trek bikes actual warranty and have tried to screw me out of a correct warranty so they could make more profit. I ended up dealing with Trek directly over the phone to solve the problem. I have also had myself and friends buy bikes from there with swapped parts from stock and even slightly used parts on their bikes like chains. I know they need to make money and its a tough world in the bike shop business, but this is a small town and word can spread fast. This shop is not actually a Trek owned store, its just the Trek name. Its owned by the same people who own Stadium bike in Green Bay. Head for a different shop though folks, theres a few other great ones in town… maybe not as big, but they run a good business thats been around a long time.

I have taken my bike to the Trek store twice this year to fix flats on each rim. Both times the staff were friendly and quick. They replaced the tube in no time and had me on my way. My bike was not purchased at the Trek store and I did not expect them to be so quick to address my bike. This spring I plan on taking the bike back to them to a maintenance check. I am very please with the service given by their staff.

Last June, this would have been a 5 star review. I went home– and wanted to rent a bike for the Woodso YMCA tri 6 weeks later. The staff rented me a beautiful Madrone WSP I am still coveting and wondering how I can add it to the wedding registry without my fiancé noticing. They were attentive, friendly– wonderful. No problem to rent me a bike– just call the first week of August before I come out. Fast forward to the Tuesday before the tri– when I call, only to be told that the owner has decided not to rent any more bikes– too late for me to be able to figure out how to pack and take mine with me. Luckily City Bike Works rocked it– one of their employees rented me a bike he was trying to sell for the event– I lifeguarded for this 20 years ago and always wanted to do it– he saved my dream… and left Trek Store of Wausau in the dust.
