For anyone who likes to hike in a well-tended wildlife park, this should be right up your alley. I went for the first time recently because I had a German friend visiting who’s as much of a shutterbug as I am, and we were looking for some nice natural settings as a new subject. The drive through the northern tip has well-dispersed pull-offs with nice descriptions of the types of wildlife potentially visible in that area, and a one– to two-mile loop walk at the tip of the drive. We almost gave up on seeing or identifying any birds… and then we hit the marshes on the way out. We found egrets, herons, geese, and cranes as willing subjects in a beautiful sunset setting. I’ve uploaded a few of the shots I took that evening, and I’m sure I’ll be headed back to see what else I can see.
