The cranes were calling each morning during our stay. The trails are many and varied and there are lots of biking options. A great park that is near some quaint towns.

Great place to stay a couple days or just a night. It is very clean and maintained. Has nice campfires that are big. It has a nice price for a good site.

A park far superior than most others. Hartman Creek State Park is very well kept and there are plenty of activities all included for little money. A SP sticker cost you $ 25 and you can use the park daily, year round.(With the sticker, you can enjoy all WI State Parks for no additional cost) If you are not a local, you can buy a day-pass for cheap or camp for a fraction of what any other establishment would charge. Hartman Creek offers nature activities such as hiking, swimming, fishing, and more! The beach area is fantastic and exceptionally clean. I’ve been to most of the state parks in the midwest and this is one of my favorites. Why spend hundreds of dollars in a yuppie place like Jellystone which offers nothing appealing to the genuine camper? State Parks and their numerous amenities are what the outdoors are all about. It’s a no-brainer. *We camped on an electric site for $ 20*

Love this park! This is one of the nicest kept-up state parks I’ve been to. Friendly staff. Lovely camping sites. Fantastic beach!!! We visit here often, and I highly recommend it.

So you feel like getting away this summer? You want to go camping, horseback riding, boating and canoeing? Have gas prices got you down and you don’t want to travel too far from home? How about crowds? Does the thought of trying to get away and having to deal with big crowds frustrating to you? Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls alike, I have the answer for you. Tons and tons of outdoor fun can be found right here at Hartman Creek State Park and the surrounding areas. It is not that far of a drive from the Chicago Area(about a 4.5 hour drive). If you go up here in the middle of the summer of course there are going to be a good number of people here. Fortunately it is not going to be as crowded as a Devil’s Lake or Starved Rock, which automatically give it an A plus rating in my grade book!
