Raised Grain rocks! They have a special recipe for good brew going on here and it shows in the final product that comes out in your pint or growler. I particularly loved the scotch aged brew. The shop/bar they have has a lot of eclectic memorabilia having to do with the raised grain concept in woodwork. It’s a relaxing atmosphere and if your nice to the owners they’ll even show you around. Mark my words these guys will outgrow this spot sooner than they think. They also have a food truck that sets up shop in front and they bring out some of the best munchable food one could ask for. This place is great!

Descriptive phrase: impressive brewing startup. With the exception of its off-street location, Raised Grain is doing just about everything right as a new microbrewery: 1) Cool, open, inviting space. 2) Large selection of house brews. 3) Delicious, well-made recipes. 4) Hang-out atmosphere(TVs, bar games). 5) Great bar snacks(pretzels nom nom), featured food trucks. 6) Friendly, invested owners. Even though they’re still relatively new, I was impressed with the quality of Raised Grain’s beer and operations. Absolutely worth a stop if you’re looking for a local pint of the good stuff.

Nice new micro brewery addition to Waukesha. Owners didn’t spare any expense in creating a great, comfortable space for people to gather and drink good beer. Almost all the beer I’ve tried has been good to exceptional. Worth a visit if you’re in the area but don’t come for the food as all they serve is frozen pizza(unless you’re lucky enough to visit on a night when a food truck is parked out front).

Today I was going to the places that people at work are telling me I must go to so I did. The place is hidden deep from the main road in a strip mall that looks abandoned due to the lack of cars. It’s next to Home Depot and oddly in the view of a home brew store in the strip mall which confuses people because they came in not expecting a full blown brewery but a supply store because they were in the wrong place. The place has weird mirrored Windows so you can’t see anything until you walk in so I didn’t know what to expect. The place was clean and spacious with color on the walls with light wood contrasting with dark tables and chairs. The lamps are made from circular saw blades which was cool. A big screen for the game is playing. The bar is filled with multiple size growlers and glasses. There is a menu with the current 10 beers and the frozen pizza options with specials also. The staff was very friendly and gave me a tour of the place and the history of the business. The owners are mostly doctors with a passion for brewing great beer so they started the only brewery in Waukesha Wisconsin. You can sample any of the beers but I explained that I have never had a craft beer I couldn’t drink so just give me the stout. The back of the brewery has some kind of sand bag toss game and a jenga game on steroids that require a step stool to play, see my pictures. The brewery part was the cleanest I have ever see by the way. I would sample the black walnut imperial stout which was 9.5 percent alcohol so since I was driving this would be my only tasting today for fear of a DUI. The beer was very good with nice flavor by the way. Over all this is a nice place to have some craft beers and to just hang out in a nice environment.

Friendly, helpful staff. Nice atmosphere with big tvs to watch sports. Beers were definitely drinkable and tasty but I wouldn’t say they were anything to write home about. My favorite was the Christmas Ale.

Relaxing musical selections, beer is well crafted, few food choices. Flights come with pretzel pieces to cleanse your palate

A new micro brew in the area. I’ve been here a couple times now and am most looking forward to their next selection of beers to see how they evolve and what types of things they do well. I tried everything available on my first visit and found myself drawn mostly to the imperial stout and their belgian. Critically, the Belgian was a bit too sweet, and the stout a little dry and thin and could use a little age, but both were good. I think their missing a great IPA still, but I hope that will come with time. The environment here is pretty casual and a touch trendy drawing a pretty wide variety of ages in the mix. The location on the other hand is lacking, not bad, just a touch hard to find, in fact if you don’t know it’s there you will likely drive right by it. The whole line-up was serviceable and I think anyone who enjoys beer can find something they like here. They offer a few snacks(frozen pizza and bavarian pretzel) and seem open to you bringing food in. Some nights they have live music. I’ve found it enjoyable, but it can be a bit too loud for the size of the space. They have a couple TVs and I believe their almost always on mute so you can catch a score but don’t have to hear it if that’s not what you’re looking for. Service was good so far, and the owners, who are here seemingly all the time, have an interesting story to tell and are quite engaging. I’ll be back some more in the future.

Outstanding brews. Immaculate venue. Wish they had more options for appetizers. Although a frozen pizza is perfectly acceptable to me. Love how you buy their growlers and then refill them. Not a deposit so to speak like other places.

Very solid beers across the board, from the Kolsch to the Black Walnut Imperial Stout which was a monster, but really well balanced. My only criticism is that the Amber was over-hopped for the style — more in line with an IPA, but still very good. They claim that their Belgian Tripel is «better than Belgian» and I might agree with that. Overall I would rate the beers a solid A across the board and probably the best overall in the metro area. Food is minimal — Milwaukee Pizza Co. frozen pizza and light bar fare — but you can bring food in and there was a bbq truck in the parking lot the night we were there.

Walked in the door and we were immediately welcomed. They have a nice selection of beers and though I’m not a fan of hoppy beers they did have some lower IBU brews as well. Not a fan of the music selection, but I’m guessing that my husband and I are not the demographic they’re trying to attract. Stop by and support local business!

The beer at Raised Grain is exceptional. Jimmy and Scott clearly love beer and are committed to producing the best that Hops and Grains can provide. If you are looking for anything besides great beer and very friendly people you can go elsewhere. If you love beer then you need to get here.

One of the best local breweries I’ve been to. Great atmosphere, even better beer. Great place for watching football games or bringing friends! Excellent group of owners who are actually knowledgeable regarding beer and brewing process. Would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a great cold glass of freshly brewed goodness.

Eight house beers. Tried six in a flight including a kolsch, amber, imperial red, IPA, rye IPA, and a scotch ale. All were really good, and best of all, true to style! A welcome addition to Waukesha! Good luck, guys!
