This place was really great! When we went there for lunch, it was packed, and for good reason! Found it here on Unilocal, not knowing what to expect. Service was fast, and I mean really fast, and the staff were all very very nice. We got gyros and they were as advertised, as some of the best I have ever. Definitely a hidden gem. I would definitely go here again because it was such a great experience!

I had a Gyro omelette breakfast plate and coffee. My wife had the Gyro Lunch plate. The omelette was nothing to right home about. That may be my fault since I opted not to have the feta cheese. The rye toast did not have caraway seeds(personal preference) and little butter. The fried potatoes were more fried mashed potatoes than slices. The side of Taziki sauce was firm and tasty. The coffee was great. My wife enjoyed her Gyro and fries. There was lots of well seasoned lamb meat and the fries were excellent; very crispy and hot. All members of their staff were friendly and attentive. The best part for me was the booths; plenty of room, firm cushions, and excellent lumbar support.

By far the best place to get a gyro in the Milwaukee area! I’ve been to Gyros West probably 8 or 9 times and every time it’s a great meal. I usually go there for lunch and the place is always hopping. It has the family restaurant feel and the service is top notch. The only thing I would change(and the reason why I didn’t give them the 5) is the open bar that leads to the customer seeing the whole operation. I don’t think they wanted to go for the«lunch counter» style but hey I don’t know. All in all, real gem in Waukesha where ya can get some great food fast!

I love this restaurant. They have excellent gyros, fish fry, and breakfast. The large pancakes and french toast are delicious and reasonably priced. I’ve tried many fish fries and this one is by far my favorite. The fish is always flakey and juicy. I order the fish dinner with the chicken dumpling soup and potato pancakes. The gyro dinner is also a favorite. Large portion and comes with a nice salad.

Not impressed at all, being supposedly the«best» in the area. I’d have to disagree on that point! The gyros aren’t that great, because i’ve had WAYYYYYY better elsewhere, and for a more reasonable price, and better wait too(considering my favorite gyro place has 0 wait staff!!!). Sticky menus, semi clean interior, decent staff, way too many menu options, and really less is more. The less you have, the more you’re able to excel in those few dishes in quality! Have had better, not a terrible experience, but just kind of odd in feeling. Not sure if a diner, a restaurant, or a fast food place. Left me scratching my head and wanting more.

Best Gyros I’ve had west of Milwaukee. The best gyros place in my opinion is Oakland Gyros, but I can’t always make the trip out there. So I’ve come to Gyros West for quite some time as my close second. Basically get the extra meat, because that’s what makes the gyro good… just a heaping amount of lamb atop your pita. DE-Licious. I’ve come here many times in the past, but always for gyros. But they do have a giant menu to peruse as well if you have an appetite for something else. There are loads of breakfast items, other sandwiches, and I think some pasta dishes as well. It’s a pretty great overall Greek Diner. And since this is a greek diner, don’t forget to get the Saganaki! They set it on fire right in front of you before you dive in(it’s the flaming cheese if you’re not familiar with it).

I should not have based my rating on the taco special. I felt the need to re-post a more favorable review based on multiple visits. I’m a fan of the Gyro, meat served with a slight char I really like. and the Rueben, hand sliced corned beef piled with craut and melty cheese, sandwiches. Breakfast served 24 hours. meals always delivered hot. if an order is in the window somebody runs it to your table.

To make a short story long. The place is like a dirty run down truck stop with inexperienced cooks and Management. Our group walked in and a musty sweaty dish washer/host/cook seated us after he wiped his dirty hands on his semi white kitchen shirt! He stopped mopping the floor, and in broken english as though he was bothered by customers entering said hello hello everyone welcome. This made me wonder are we going to be victoms or walk away with our stomaches intact? The mopping of the floor in this dead restaurant was strange during the day and rude. It smelled like bleach mixed with a hint of festival port-a-john’s ! Very rude to clean while customers eat ! With the extensive menu and too many items too list I new I might be in for a kitchen nightmares treat and still feeling it as I type ! Let’s just say gas should be to fuel a car and waste belongs in a land fill but I will be producing alot of that soon enough !!! The prices are too high for the area and food portion plus quality! The gyros were dry not fresh very chewy ! The yellow onions dry why not red? The Tzatziki sauce was printed on the dirty sticky menu as authentic? Sure sour cream found in Greece? Try Greek Yogurt with lemon, cucumber, mint, garlic, salt n pepper ! The food over all was the best laxative I ever had or felt in the first 10min after driving away from any restaurant. The end result of a kitchen nightmare with poor sales bad business practice low paid employees that are not Cooks and Mgt without a care ! Eat and dine at your own risk ! If you read your reviews. Hire experienced help for fair wages. Down size your menu and improve your business ! Less is more and it should all be quality not quantity at your crazy price points and poor plating ! Thanks !!!

This place is hard to pick out a negative. The only thing I could come up with is their gyro combos(fries and gyro and drink are tad high but that’s everywhere). They give almost a pound of meat. I’m a 270 ex football player with a big appetite and two of them are almost too much because of how much lamb is in there. I usually do carry out but I went in there the other day mid afternoon for some breakfast. First off love the fact they offer 3 eggs omelettes. So many place try to short change u and drop it down to two eggs to save on cost(and maybe cholesterol lol) but Gyros West keeps it honest. Great service, I was sitting in section by myself with about 15 ppl in other parts of the store I still got impeccable service. I came in around 4pm on weekday while the what appear to be the owner coming in on his off day to grab a coffee. He saw me looking at the tv and he quickly mention to his staff to make sure that I was helped, which I was already, just goes to show you how attentive even the owners are at customer service. My drink never got lower than 1⁄3 full. Had 3 different employees has me if I need anything else. Made me feel like I was a resort and not a diner. Food taste really good def would recommend it to anyone looking for some good service and a inexpensive meal.

Gyros Corner West has been a Waukesha staple for years. The breakfasts are always solid in a family-restaurant breakfast, not brunch, sort of way. The greek dinners are spot on and a deal. The chicken souvlaki sandwich is my personal fave and is barely over $ 6. The chicken shish kabobs are also very good and are seasoned very well. They have a fish fry wed-friday and it’s also worth checking out. I don’t drive out to Waukesha to go here, but when I’m in the area and looking for a place to eat, it’s definitely on my radar.

I went here for the Greek skillet which sounded good. The deal was sealed when it has feta cheese, gyro meat, tomato, onion and hash browns topped with two eggs. It was pretty good but they get 2 stars because the fetta cheese was missing and that was what sealed the deal on this dish. I was going to let it go but three hours later I called them to let them know that I was disappointed and they said I would get a free one next time but I’m not driving to Waukesha for a free meal and told him to fix it for the next customers who orders this. If it was right I would give 3.5 stars because it was still delicious even fu***d up. I really like this combo and will try to get a closer place to make me one that is not on the menu. If I lived closer I would go back and try other items because they were super packed and that might mean this is a good pace to eat. Please give them a try and don’t let my expirence stop you from going because they must be doing something right to have a super packed sat breakfast.

Good cheap food. Service is kinda weird, a different person takes your order, delivers your food to the table, and services your drinks. It’s an odd system and you can’t connect with your servers, but other than that, good place for a quick meal.

Just had a gyro from Gyros West for lunch(takeout) today and I’ve gotta say, it’s one of the best gyros I’ve ever had in the US. Japan actually has the best, believe it or not. The pita & tzatziki sauce tasted homemade. Meat was very tender & delicious. Also got the small athenien garden salad, which was over priced and not that great. That’s the only reason I rated the restaurant 4 stars vs 5. I will be picking up lunch from here again!

And who says there are no Greek Diners in WI? Talk about turn-over! Damn! As fast as people came in, they ate, they left… we have no complaints at all about our food. It was fresh, fast and yummy after a long night. I’m sure the older man sitting at the front table by himself was the owner as he was doing his best to manage the staff and they were all doing their best to please him. It was pretty cute to see. It sure seemed like a family run business and they care about their food. The menu is big so it is hard to get thru it all by the time your waitress is staring at you for your order. I think that was the stink eye, but I’ll ignore it because I want my potatoes to be crispy :). and they were!

Love this place for breakfast and dinner… breakfast is unreal. And you can get pancakes instead of toast with your breakfast… a huge plus in my book. The breakfast is good, and doesn’t leave you feeling all greasy and gross

This was my first time eating here and not my last. I was there today, a busy Sunday morning, and even though it was crowded seating only took about 5 minutes. The first table I was offered was right by the restroom entrance and when I asked for a different location I was given one with no problem. The service was prompt and friendly. We weren’t super hungry and I was craving pancakes so ordered blueberry and my son had the Alaskan Waffles(waffles with ice cream, strawberry syrup, and whipped cream) not really a breakfast but calories don’t count on the weekend… right? Food arrive quickly and very tasty. Next time the corned beef hash.

Coming here for over 20 years. Always consistent great food. The best gyros and biggest fluffy omelets. Christina was our server and she was delightful, courteous and helpful with a wonderful smile just like her mother. All servers work as a team making sure your meal is special. I need to return more frequently!

This review was after 2 experiences recently. One was for breakfast on mother’s day and the other was for a lunch pickup. Breakfast was really good. Everything was served hot, and as ordered. Our server seemed to not really be listening to anything we said or asked for, but surprisingly, she got it all correct. The lunch experience was also positive. Ordering was tricky, as the online menu does not seem to quite match with what is going on at the actual location. There are a lot of specials that we just simply did not know about by ordering over the phone, and it would have been nice for them to give me a bit of help. The service at the location was top notch, and after the recognized the larger than average order, the gave me a free beverage and a bunch of free baklava! All the food we ordered look very tasty, and I would definitely go back to try the gyros. I would rate most Greek Restaurants in the area a 2.5, and this one is more toward 3.25. Based on my positive experience when picking our order up, I will go with a 4. They seem to have a nice family run business going, and Brookfield/Waukesha could use more of that.
