This is one of those times that I’m glad that I don’t live on a lake. Did you ever see Poltergeist? Wauconda or Wakanda means«Spirit Water». Wauconda is turning into a thriving little town that has many fine small shops and businesses. We have lived in Wauconda now for about 8 years now. The town is growing as they have added some new subdivisions and nice condominiums and town houses. Wauconda was even featured in the Blues Brothers when Jake and Elliot were driving around trying to tell people about the concert. As I have stated, they have some nice local businesses that people from Wauconda enjoy as well as other local communities come to enjoy. They have many choices of things to do and places to dine that have received some nice recognition. Middleton’s On Main — Bulldogs Grill — Main Street Tacos — Stacie Cakes — Slyce Coal Fired Pizza Company — Whippletree Farm Antiques — Wauconda Animal Hospital — Pets & Things — Grooming — Millennium Trail and Greenway — Wauconda is a quaint little town that has a great home town feel. The Main Street reminds me of how things used to be in the past. Every year Wauconda has something that they call a Street Dance. They literally shut down Main Street and all of the local businesses and people come out to party and listen to music. Dancing is optional. I am happy to be a resident of Wauconda Illinois.
