Best burritos in wauconda also very conveniently located on main st so good spot if you’ve drank a few and can’t drive. Also the beans and rice are spot on

Food here is greasy and bland. The Horchata reminds me of nasty dishwater. They charge you extra for seconds on chips and salsa; customer service sucks if you don’t speak Spanish. Go around the corner to Raul’s Burrito Express next to Dairy Queen.

Super good food. probably the best in this part of the suburbs. Food is very authentic, the enchiladas are stunning. The salsa is a tad spicy, but still very good. The only downfall is the $ 2.25 drinks for 20oz. If it wasn’t for that, 5 stars.

Great little place to get some Crunchy Fish Tacos. They are a great combination of crunchy fish, slaw, and spicy/creamy sauce. They are in our top 5 for fish tacos in the Northern Illinois area.

My family ordered burrito dinner, chimichanga dinner, 4 beef tacos and guacamole and was charged $ 36.00. We thought they made a mistake but the lady said that’s what the price was. Also ordered side of sour cream which was a dollar but never got it. The guacamole was $ 6.00 for a small side to go with the chimichanga. We were so angry. I mean 2 dinners and 4 tacos cost $ 36.00. Can you say RIPOFF. we always prefer BURRITOEXPRESS over main st. Tacos but decided to order from MAINST. TACOS cause it was walking distance. My husband asked the lady if she could take the food back and give us money back but she refused. Not to mention how rude she was. I WILLNEVERGOTOMAINAT. TACOSINWAUCONDAIL. EVERAGAIN. LITTLEADVICE. First and last time I will ever come here. Pretty sure that I got food poisoning from their tacos. It’s a shame too, the place has some great potential and ambiance, but I can’t risk my health when there are plenty of other options around.

Great authentic food. The menu is big and prices are reasonable. The aesthetics of the place aren’t great, but that has no bearing on food quality. Every time I’ve gone in there are at least a few people waiting for orders, so the place seems pretty popular. I’ve only done carry-out so I can’t opine on dine-in service.

Main Street tacos is a darn good place for tacos, burritos and some darn good Chile Rellenos done right. But unfortunately, the service is extremely lacking. So much so, I will no longer order from Main Street Tacos. Edit: gave them another chance and my semi complex order was prepared accurately and was delicious. Keep it up Main Street Tacos!

We come to Wauconda twice a year. It is mandatory that we stop in for the incredible Mexican at Main Street.

Great food. Love the chili relleno taco. A little greasy, but a good taco is supposed to be. We always do take out because the place is pretty much a dive inside, and the parking is lousy.

Salsa tasted like tomato sauce… Needed a kick! Chips were stale. My son LOVES Mexican but hated his tacos. I couldn’t even eat my chicken burrito. It was cold and tasteless. Not a spot I will try again.

After driving by so many times, I finally stopped in. And boy! Am I glad I did! I’ve been going to Tacos el Norte on Rand Road in Lake Zurich, but lately their quality seems to have dropped while their prices seem higher. Main Street Tacos is reasonably priced, and the food taste home-made. The décor is not the best, but the quality of the food makes up for it. It’s definitely worth a try, I promise you won’t be disappointed! !

Good shit. Got steak tacos and chips/salsa. I’d go there again if I’m ever lost again in this quiet town.

Because Main Street Tacos are a small local place, I was hoping they would be one of my hometown favorites. But that’s not the case. Even though I pick up food from here often, 95% of the time, it’s for my husband. He loves their tacos. I’ve tried their tacos but they did not ‘wow’ me. I will admit their Pico De Gallo is amazing!!! Their Cheese Quesadillas are pretty good. I know they are usually busy so they do have their fans. Originally, their shop was small but bought out the space behind & expanded their space by adding a dining area. Warning: Their parking lot is oddly shaped. So I always pick a spot that allows me to easily exit when more cars appear.

Thanks to fellow Unilocalers giving this place great reviews, I stopped in yesterday. Did get my lunch to go because I was passing through Wauconda. Ordered the ground beef taco dinner with cilantro and onions on the tacos. The corn tortillas were delicious. Maybe homemade? The rice and beans that accompany the meal were above average IMO. Very nice woman that took my order, quick too. Clean restaurant, easy parking. I will definitely be back!

Deliciously Awesome Look up the word Main Street in Webster Dictionary and it describes it as the main road or street that runs through a town, or city. The term is mainly used in the United States. Look up Main Street Tacos in Unilocal and you will see that they produce some very tasty, authentic Mexican food. Not only is it authentic, it’s fresh and extremely flavorful. I have had a variety of Mexican food and I’m not going out on a limb when I say that this is my new favorite place for authentic Mexican food. It’s also always a good thing when a place is close to home so that’s just the icing on the cake or should I say the guacamole on my chip.

Not only does Main Street Tacos have the best tacos in Wauconda, but the best tacos I’ve ever had. The staff is friendly, the place is clean, and the food is delicious and authentic. I used to work in Wauconda so I would eat lunch there almost every day. Now whenever I come back into town from Chicago I make a stop there. Do yourself a favor and get their fish taco… it is unreal. Then go ahead an get their al pastor taco with cilantro, onion and cheese and dip it in their red salsa. No fish or pork taco I have ever had in Chicago has surpassed the deliciousness of Main Street’s. I must also add that they recently bought the store next door — so there is full restaurant seating!
