Lindy’s Landing

We’ve been to Lindy’s many times. Most times we sit in the bar, which is absolutely great (4 – 5 stars). The bartenders are wonderful, they tend to remember what we order just by seeing us.
However, we’ve always had minor issues in the dining room. Recently, we brought our family to eat for a special occasion. It wasn’t overly crowded and it appeared that they were properly staffed. I guess my disappointment was the menu related to allergies. My kids have a gluten and dairy intolerance. I DO REALIZE that not every restaurant can accommodate my kids. We ALWAYS check menus beforehand to see if the restaurant is allergy friendly. For Lindy’s, we also called to make sure. All good.
So, my kids are looking at all the options. There is a GF (Gluten Free) designation on the appropriate dishes. Still good. So, my kids order the Gluten Free pasta. Nothing on it. Waitress comes back and sadly tells us that they are out of pasta (not a good start). Okay, we move to some meat. But, as I look at the dish that is marked GF, I see that part of the dish is fried onions. That puzzles me as fried onions are typically dropped in flour before fried. So, I asked the waitress how this can be Gluten Free as marked. She says… well, I have to tell her we are Gluten Free and they remove them from the dish. I looked at other dishes and started to wonder if I have to worry about everything that was marked GF. So, food was fine, service was slow (our waitress was working consistently, though).
We’ll be back again, but we’ll stay in the bar and not bring the kids.

I had the jambalaya. I enjoyed it but its not like you got a whole heck of a lot of it for the price but then again, it did have shrimp in it.

This place can get very busy. Small swimming area for the kids. Free valet and docking for boats. I was disappointed to see peel and eat buckets of shrimp off the menu this season. Get there early, make a day of it.

Went today for lunch. We sat on back patio. Service was good. I ordered the half chopped salad and sandwich special. My husband got the pulled pork sandwich and fries. Both of our food was good. There were a lot of kids sport teams there with family so it gets loud of kids screaming but the view of marina and water is nice. I thought our outdoor table could use a bucket of soapy water and a rag so that is why four stars. I would go back.

The food is reliably good. Inside is nice.
What makes Lindy’s special is outside. Sit on the deck enjoy a fresh fruit ice tea, or a coctail. Watch the kids play in the water, or just watch the boats on Bang’s Lake. Perfect way to spend a summer day.

Haven’t eaten here yet, not sure I will because I just called, and was told it’s standard that they only take reservations for 6 or more, so don’t plan on reserving times for a special occasion for only 2 or 4 people

My Mom has been wanting to try this place so we decided to do the Mother’s Day brunch as it was reasonably prices. The food was really good and we would have liked to come back however when it came time to pay for the bill I was originally given the original bill but after they ran my credit card I was handed a slip to sign for more than what the bill should have been. I was assured that my card had not been charged the wrong amount and I was given someone else’s slip to sign so I didn’t think anything about it. The next day I went to check my checking account to make sure I was charged the correct amount and unfortunately I was charged the wrong amount. I stopped back on Monday after work to let them know about the mistake & I was told I would need to talk to the General Manager who wasn’t there but would be there in the morning. The person I talked to made copies of the receipt & back up I had showing the mistake & I was told the General Manager Brittany would call me back. I didn’t hear back from her so I called yesterday afternoon and left her a message with no return call. I checked my checking account this morning & the correct amount was now charged to my card. That’s great that it was resolved but a return call back would have been nice at least to acknowledge the situation. Not sure if I’ll come back or not. Still on the fence about that. I wanted to treat my Mom this year because my Dad passed away earlier in the year so this wasn’t exactly the nice relaxing Mother’s Day i had wanted to give her.

Absolute best Fish Fry we have had in a very long time. Definitely worth the wait for table.

With all of the hype, I thought I’d be more excited about this place. I ordered the ruben. It was ehh. The view was nice, but, it is a local lake. Hello, there are plenty of restaurants on the water in this area. I was unimpressed. The waitress was nice, and ok with the fact that we had a baby with the party. I might go back, but there are other places to try first!

Always clean. Great views. Very comfy feeling deco. Always a great meal. Always. The servers are very friendly and usually on top of their game.

We’ve been at Lindy’s Landing before so we decided to take a family group there after visiting the Lake County Discovery Museum. When the eight of us arrived, we were seated promptly. The waitress was friendly and quickly took our drink order. Our entrée orders ranged from fish tacos to burgers to salads. Everyone enjoyed their food.
Our family guests all enjoyed the view of Bangs Lake and the friendly atmosphere. The only downside was waitress’ beer knowledge. She mixed up two beer orders and couldn’t really explain the full range of choices. Still we’ll be back, especially in the summer when they have bands and when the outdoor patio is open.

Expensive and the food is under seasoned. I know everybody’s trying to adhere to the light seasoning and healthier option lifestyles, Maybe it was for the satisfaction of the 70+ elderly patrons there, however if I wanted to eat cotton that they called «pork» I would just stay home and not pay for it. Great location though!

Excellent corn beef dinner.
I don’t like salty food and most of the time when I order corn beef, it’s always over salted.
This one was perfect.
Corn beef was tender and juicy.
Service was prompt, the waitress Kyle B was knowledgeable, on time with food and checking upon us making sure we were satisfied.
My only complain the unbearable noise, I think the restaurant needs to install sound absorbers.

Food is pretty meh overall. Tap is good, featuring a nice Crystal Lake brew. Good place to hang for Blackhawks games, and a heck of a summer hang out near the beach. It has a clothing store in it too. If you spill beer in yourself you’re good to go.

We tried 3 of the appetizers and they were hot and delicious! The Bloody Mary was good too. The adult tater tots were more like deep fried mashed potato balls. Definitely not your typical «tater tot» Very good!

Great menu, Delicious burgers, beautiful atmosphere and friendly employees! I would highly recommend it!

Meh. Bar is the only reason to go, oh yeah, and the beach volleyball. Food, is kinda dodgy…

We arrived for a noon lunch on a Tuesday. We were sat immediately and then just sat… and sat. Finally, a waitress arrived & took our drink orders. Eventually, she returned with our drinks & took our orders. But by now, it was 12:45 PM. The restaurant wasn’t very crowded when we arrived, but eventually, as we were leaving, it started to fill up. We all ordered the tortilla soup, which arrived lukewarm & covered with tortilla strips, making it difficult to find the soup underneath. And, while I was talking to a friend who just entered & was sat adjacent to our table, the bus boy took my soup away without asking me if I was finished — which I was not!
When my patty melt sandwich arrived, I was totally disappointed. The marble rye was much larger than the hamburger patty, necessitating tearing off much of the bread. One half of my patty wasn’t even on the bread & the American cheese was not even melted on the sandwich, & the fries were cold. My friend ordered fruit instead of fries with her order, yet her sandwich arrived with fries.
The service at Lindy’s has never been that great & today the food we received matched the service. Not sure we’ll be back again…

I love Lindy’s in the summer! Great place to sit outside, enjoy the lake view and maybe a band. The food is pretty good too. The Cemita that was on the menu this summer was my favorite! They have a good cocktail menu, though they could stand to add more tap beers/​craft beers.

Prime location, live music on the deck, wonderful patio, great food. Delicious homemade tortilla chips, excellent grilled chicken.
