Not a bad neighborhood joint. The service is unenthusiastic but relatively timely, and the sushi is good.

Miyuki’s is the BEST Japanese restaurant in Santa Cruz County hands down. Friendly owner and staff. We love the Dragon, Pajaro, and Jenny roll. Whatever you try, you won’t be disappointed.

Order the Tataki! So good. Seared albacore sashimi with grated ginger and garlic. Blanched onions and ponzu sauce. They also had amazing natto maki. For those who don’t know. Fermented soy beans! Try it.

I eat here a couple of times a month. This is a Watsonville gem. Try the bento box lunch special. I get the Chicken and California roll.

Probably one of the better sushi restaurants between Santa Cruz to Carmel(but definitely not other places in the world ie. Mountain View, Portland as another reviewer stated), but their menu has changed. I got some of the dishes based on Unilocal pictures, but everything was different. I ordered some rolls based on the pictures posted on Unilocal(some dating 2 years ago) which had plenty of fish. The rainbow roll I received only had skimpy cucumber and avocado in it, fish only on top, then some weird thinly sliced seaweed gelatin on it. I even double checked with the waitress what was supposed to be in it. This place satisfies the sushi crave, but the high review is odd. The chawan mushi was good, the nigiri rice was good. The quality of fish was mediocre and I didn’t get sick.

Great dining experience. In Watsonville for a family function and wanted to grab a quick bite before. Seemed like this was one of maybe two sushi places in a sea of Mexican food joints. The reviews were mostly positive, so my SO and I decided to give it a shot. We were not disappointed. The reopen for dinner at 5, we arrived about a quarter to 6 and were seated right away, only a couple of tables were open. Friendly staff, took our order right away. I loved the miso soup. The Tokyo roll was just ok, definitely underwhelming compared to everything else. But it wasn’t terrible. You get your own pot of rice which was cool. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone. If we are ever back in this area again, definitely making a stop here.

Favorite little sushi joint worth the trek from Santa Cruz to Watson. Rolls are fresh and udon soup delivers with a tasty broth. Prices are reasonable for the quality.

Delightful spot! Their vegetable udon was delicious with lots of fresh, colorful veggies. My friend had sushi that looked beautiful and that she said was tastier than most of the sushi she’s had in Santa Cruz. Will definitely be back!

Small, old school restaurant reminiscent of a Japanese rural hut on the outside. Inside are tables seating four to eight, plus a few seats at the sushi bar. The place was 2⁄3 full on a Saturday evening. The server was pleasant and attentive and assisted by a busboy and the hostess. Our waters were refilled and we were checked on periodically. My son and I enjoyed a delicious Dragon Roll to start, then for each of our combination dinners we sipped nice Miso soup, munched on salad with unfortunately drab iceberg leaves that were lucky to be covered in a delicious sesame miso dressing. We then had good shrimp and veg tempura that, while well-seasoned, was less crisp and light than I would have liked, and I had a yummy thin-sliced short rib marinated in sweet soy sauce then grilled, and my son had an average tasting pork Katsu. We each had little covered pots of delicious white rice and our entrees were graced with petite piles of marinated bean sprout salad and perfectly steamed broccoli with a dab of miso mayo dressing. All in all the food was carefully prepared and quite flavorful, as though a Japanese grandma or skilled housewife had prepared everything. While we would have loved to sample from the selection of Marianne’s Ice Cream flavors the server informed us they had that night, we were just too stuffed to do so. I very much look forward to returning.

Absolutely LOVE Miyuki! We moved here a little over a year ago, and to be honest I was freaked out that all we would be able to eat(out) was Mexican. Completely delighted to find Miyuki is not only nearby, but also DELICIOUS! My other favorite sushi places are in Mountain View, San Diego, and Portland. So yeah, Miyuki pretty much rocks my world. (side note: I’m NOT a fan of the other 2 sushi places in Watsonville) Really enjoy the tataki ahi, they always have fresh hamachi, rainbow roll and various veggie rolls for me, and then the [more] American’ized rolls for my partner(smothered in mayo spicy sauce or baked or deep fried). We’ve never had a bad meal here, and the rice has never been dry, mushy, or undercooked, which is crucial. We also order their agadashi tofu, edamame, seaweed salad, miso soup, and other appetizers. Not amazing, but up to par. Just keep being yourself, Miyuki, and we will be your happy patrons!

Horrible sevice not kid friendly. No high chairs just booster chair. 2nd time eating here always give places a sencond chance. Had questions about menu waiter almost seemed irratated. Received one tiny water. Finished water and was never asked if we needed more. Sushi was ok, not as good as the reviews say. Had to Flag waiter down in order to pay. Let a reluctant tip. Wife was saying don’t leave one but. I always do. Would not recommend. Definitely dont come from out of town to try.

The best Japanese food in the Monterey Bay area. Incredible sauces that are hand made from Chief the owner. It’s in the middle of town but worth the drive. I highly recommend Miyukis…

Yum… traditional Japanese with a flair… most of the staff have been there forever and pretty much know what you want as you arrive. Today I was super hungry and waiting for a friend… chief(owner/sushi chef) whipped up a spicy scallop hand roll in seconds… to hold me over… yummmm! The lunch specials are a great deal… and if you like Tonkatsu… it’s great. If it’s busy you might have to wait a bit… no reservations…;-(…but it sure is good!

Delicious food & excellent, friendly service. Lots to choose from on the special board, sushi menu & regular dinner menu. We go there most every time I’m visiting family in Watsonville. Friends from SF think it might be the best Japanese food they have ever had. はい Hai!

One of the BEST Japanese restaurants in the Santa Cruz County. If you know authentic then this is the place for you. Real home cooking Japanese food. From the fresh sashimi to the dinner plates, you can’t go wrong. My ought most favorite thing on the menu is the Oyster Shooter. There’s absolutely nothing like it! If sashimi isn’t your thing, try the Dragon Roll, Pajaro Roll or the Scallop Dynamites. The rice plates are just as delicious, I always go for the Katsu Salmon. It’s not the menu but I would always get the Teriyaki Salmon and Chris(One of the waiters) recommended the Katsu Salmon. I like anything deep fried so I gave it a go and I couldn’t go back to teriyaki! It was delicious. Or if you’re feeling a little chilly and want something to warm you up, go for the Sukiyaki. The broth is out of this world! Other than the food, service is really friendly. Tips: Weekends get busy and packed, So you might wait awhile before getting a table. Try making reservations or go in right when they open. Honestly, the wait is worth the food.

I would give this five stars but truly only Michelin level restaurants deserve that That being said this is the most authentic Japanese restaurant south of Stevens Creek Blvd in Cupertino I have found where I started going to them in the 1970’s My father speaks three different dialects of Japanese and I was imbued with this culture throughout my childhood If you want the real thing in Santa Cruz County this is the place to go Forget the Bento box live a little then you won’t be disappointed The cucumber salad has seaweed in it The meat and vegetable custard with zest of lemon was very generous with crab claw seafood and mushrooms and very unique and good See photos
