Really good marinara sauce with amazing garlic taste. I ordered the cheese ravioli and it was super nice! He topped it with mushrooms, onions, and eggplant! Go there for delicious comfort food.

Hands down the best neighborhood house of pizza when in the Newton-Watertown frontier. Greek style pizza done to perfection and expertly built subs and more. Family run and a hit with my family for years to come

One of the best slices of pizza I’ve had in a while. Crispy crust, great cheese and sauce — cooked just right. Also have had the eggplant parm– it is highly recommended and rivals that of my grandmother’s. Fugggehaboutit

Never coming in here again. I got a slice and the old lady grabbed with her hands no tongs no gloves nothing. the way she even grabbed it she got sauce on her fingers and she just wiped her thumb off… awesome cant wait to eat all day old pizza with old lady fingerprint mashed in. I get that its homestyle but that doesnt mean I want someones hand in my food. and she did that right in front of my face, so I can only imagine what goes on beyond closed doors

This place is fantastic. The owner is incredibly nice and a top-notch chef. My «go to» dish is the chicken/veal parmigiana sandwich. I have also had a grilled chicken sub. Each one was superb. Great prices Awesome food Friendly owner GO!

Solid sub shop with decent size salads. A terrific owner. The homemade soups are particularly good. Greek-style pizza if you like that sort — I don’t love it but it’s fine. I spend quite a bit of my lunch money here.

Taso and his family are the nicest people to ever own a pizza place. They know exactly what customer loyalty is about and what it means to be part of the neighborhood community. I wish I still worked around there. One of the best chicken parm subs around. Stop reading and go now!

Nested in Newton Corner, this pizza shop, despite it’s modest exterior, is actually quite remarkable. As a matter of fact, this place is great even. And in what ways one might wonder — simple. It’s affordable, it’s clean, it’s quick and the service is friendly and effective. What more could you really ask for? They have all kinds of daily specials and deals here — you can literally get 2 slices of pizza and a soda for under $ 6. And that’s just one of the many deals that they have. They same some on wraps, some on subs and some on various other items. Personally I’m a big fan of their subs and wraps, especially the chicken cordon bleu one. Their pepperoni pizza slices are pretty good as well and their salads are real salads without iceberg. Nope, not here people. Instead they use mesclun greens and it’s a lot better. And their chicken cutlets whether it be for the cordon blueu or buffalo are absolutely delicious. Good in anything, even wraps! With few options in the area for a quick lunch, except for Corner Café and Quiznos, this place shines above the rest and I truly believe that it is the best spot in the area. And the best part is that it’s local, family owned(the owner’s mother still works there alongside the owner most days) and that alone is business worth supporting. As far as seating goes, there’s numerous tables available and the place isn’t too packed during lunch surprisingly. You shouldn’t have a problem snagging a spot there. PS: If the owner is reading this, he should consider adding a tip jar on the counter. I’ve wanted to tip so many times! Just add it man!

I love this place. I believe its owned and operated by a mother/son team. They are lovely and genuine people. Portions are generous, I love their Greek salads and Italian grinders. Pretty standard pizza shop fare but they take their time, ask a few questions, and a their pride and love for the place adds a whole lot of flavor.

BEST chicken cutlet I have ever had. They forgot to give me hots on the side, but I had hot sauce on stand-by at work. All was good, and SUPERSCRUMPTIOUS. The owners were definitely welcoming and the guy behind the counter made all the right suggestions before putting my order in. Yummy!!! Definitely returning soon!

Definitely a top lunch spot in the area for the co-workers and me! Chicken parm sub, greek salad(HUGE, get it with peppers and onions), and spicy fries are my go-to items. I’ve also had the steak sub, eggplant parm sub, and pizza slices! One day, I will try that baklava sitting on the counter that always cries«eat me!» Everything is also very reasonably priced. The business is family-run, and everyone is very friendly! While I don’t like swiping cards at small family-owned businesses, they do take most major credit cards should you not have any cash on you.

Greek salads are awesome! Can be a bit pricey and is cash only. The owners(family owned) are very nice and pleasant to chat with. A pleasant little hole in the wall that was very warm and comforting. Especially for a business traveler forced to stay at the Sheraton Newton and on a severely limited dinner budget(in Boston – hello!).

NCHOP is a wee bit further away from the office than BHOP, so it took a little while to become an office favorite. I’d popped in a few times for a ham and cheese(loaded with lettuce, tomatoes, and condiments), but only recently started coming multiple times per week. Reason? Parisian chicken salad. I can’t say no to tender grilled chicken, feta, and dried cranberries(!) on a bed of leafy greens. It’s a family-run business, to boot, and also sells beer. Plus, we’re regulars now and I heard a rumor the staff once hooked my coworkers up with free baklava.

I work down the street and this is a work favorite. I mean, 3 – 7 of us walk down at a time at least 3 times a week. The place is not fancy, it’s a sub shop. But the food is good and plentiful and the guy is always nice. The greek pizza is exactly what you expect, greasy with a thinnish crust. Their salads are large and filling, and the steak and cheese is delicious. I’d def recommend if you’re looking for a quick meal.

I’ve had a rickety week, and yesterday I decided to treat myself to some comfort food instead of ravaging, as usual, through the work fridge for the low-fat yogurt and whole wheat bread my boss buys. I wanted something filling and yum, and the the House of Pizza hooked me up. It was gloomy outside around 3PM, but the place was cheery and peaceful. I perused the paper while the extremely friendly, smiley man behind the counter(the owner I presume, from what previous posts suggest) made my calzone to order– no reheating here! He suggested three great choices for a calzone, and I selected the chicken and broccoli– perfection! It was cheesy and juicy, and humongous! The dough was browned and tasted perfect– not at all greasy– and I can’t wait to return. Yesterday’s visit brightened my day: thank you, Mr. Yummy Calzone Man. Cash only, from what I gathered.

Pizza was reminiscent of the delectable boogers I’d find in my nose as a little boy. The pizza was VERY mediocre. Sauce was meh, dough was crap, and the cheese was cheep. It tasted more like a salty, cheese-flavored fried dough(hence the booger reference). Now, the gyros, on the other hand, were outstanding. Not usual fair for a typical pizza joint, but I’m not complaining. Excellent gyros. The cheese-steak wasn’t bad either, and I almost would have ordered a second, except I had a long drive in front of me, and I really didn’t want to have food coma sitting on the freeway back to the city. The service was very friendly, and I got the feeling that they really loved what they did for a living. Could have been the owner for all I know, but either way, the place was very friendly, very clean, clean bathrooms, and had a very large selection of non-pizza items, including 3 different kinds of fries. Will definately stop by here when I drive by again tomorrow for a meeting with a guy… .about a ‘ting… and anudda ‘ting…

This place has the nicest owner I’ve ever met. We ordered some garlic bread with cheese on top(AMAZING!) and he accidentally burned it so he gave it to any other customers that were around and didn’t mind it being overcooked. The price is pretty good for a family owned place. I believe it was 8.50 for a large pizza then 1.50 for each extra topping. We ended up getting 3 larges, 2 drinks, and cheesy garlic bread for $ 35. The pizza is ok. Crust was kind of thick for me but its perfect for someone that enjoys medium thickness(aka my girlfriend, who LOVED it.) Toppings were delicious, especially the fried-esque buffalo chicken. Nice thin red sauce. The pizza would have been excellent but to be honest, I just didn’t like the crust. The cheesy garlic bread was amazing. MMM. Here is a picture of their buffalo chicken pizza:

This is a great place to grab a sub, slice, or salad for lunch. Just be warned, it’s not exactly a health food addict’s restaurant of choice. It is family-run, however, and the owner is really friendly. Subs are the usual suspects. The pizza is pretty greasy, true, but it’s good– if you’re craving bad-for-you, cheesy pizza, this is a great bet. They have the usual salads, too, but I think they usually use pretty fresh veggies(yeah yeah, we all know iceberg has no nutritional value, so what) and decent olives and feta. The grilled chicken topping is good– I prefer it to the grilled chicken at other local joints. 11⁄13 They now offer a «Parisian» salad with baby field greens, sunflower seeds, craisins, goat cheese, & croutons. A nice change but a bit pricey. There are chips and pretzels, of course, and they have a cooler full of juices, sodas, teas, and– yes!- beer.
