Dingy, depressing, dirty store with a scattered and over priced selection. You could find North Face, Columbia, and Under Armour much cheaper at Dick’s or Sports Authority and at least you don’t have to hear craptastic country music while you shop. The only saving grace is the much better (than Dick’s) selection of hunting and fishing gear. Beware — I think they clean the restrooms one a year… if that.

I basing my review on the shoe and boot department of the store. I couldn’t believe it but they had many hiking boots in stock that most places do not. The associate that helped me name was Shane and was such a great guy and knowledgeable. He really knows his stuff well when it comes to all types of shoes and his willingness to share his knowledge to help get you the right shoe/​boot was great! You da man Shane thank you for all your help!

Oh it was such an outlandishly long wait to get my fishing licence. The poor cashier-​ette was on her own in the front attending to licences and checkout, the computer took forever. I would like to say many fish died and sat in my belly for this effort but alas they did not, the fish mocked me from under the waves of the St. Lawrence. Seen on the fish finder by me, but refusing to find their way to any bait tried. B@st@rds!

I like gander but their supply is usually picked up pretty good and prices are not really that great.

It’s an established chain, but it’s new to me. They lean toward the hunting/​hiking/​camping side of sports equipment. They have an archery range to test out equipment, which is really cool. Good selection of boots and athletic wear.
