I met the owner of Exclusive Sounds at a wedding show in early July. He was super friendly and offered a great deal on a DJ and lighting package for my upcoming wedding. Since I couldn’t afford the DJ who was actually my #1 choice, Exclusive Sounds came across as a very very good alternative. As soon as I got home I shared the info with my fiancé who agreed that they sounded great and I emailed the address given me. Then I emailed again 2 days later. And again 4 days later. And then called. Finally, a week after first contact, the owner called me back. I should’ve taken that as a sign, but he did apologize and mentioned some problem with email which I took at face value(oops). We met 2 weeks later(as the owner was about to leave for vacation) to discuss a booking. This meeting went swimmingly. While I thought it silly that no paperwork was brought along, we shook on our agreement and I was promised a contract via email within 1 week that I could sign and send back with my deposit. This sounded just fine to me(as I’ve had the same situation with a few other wedding vendors). But then it all fell apart. 1 week passed. Nothing. 10 days. I emailed. 2 weeks. I called. 2 ½ weeks, I emailed and called. 3 weeks. And then emailed my other DJ choice, who got back ASAP and I was fully booked with him within 2 days. After booking the replacement I emailed Exclusive Sounds to let them know that I’d had to make other arrangements because they were non-responsive. Not shockingly, I’ve not received any reply. While at the wedding show I felt really good feelings about this company and then again at our personal meeting, unfortunately the owner is a college student who clearly hasn’t learned to treat his business like a business. People can’t wait around for you to feel like doing your job when planning a big event. It’s just so incredibly unprofessional.
