Food is great. Been going there since they opened. Called for a to go order and they wouldn’t take my credit card over the phone so guess I’ll find another favorite Chinese Restaurant to patronize.

Friday night: 10 tables full of people. Some of the tables still dirty. Empty & trays everywhere in the unoccupied tables. ONE, yes only ONE person taking care of the full front of restaurant. Cold and seemed like the heating was not working properly. For just this reason this restaurant deserves one star. The only reason I went with 2 stars is the food was not as bad as the service.

We love getting take out from this restaurant. They make the egg rolls and dark fried rice like Henry’s Chinese food on Mechanic street in Westerly RI. I don’t recommend the crab Rangoon, it tasted fishy both times we ordered it. Also, we enjoy eating in at the restaurant but the service is always terrible because the one woman who works there does everything out in the restaurant. The drinks are really well priced if you dine in.

Dark black fried rice just dripping in sauce. Horrible. Almost white loi mein with no flavor at all. Horrible. The driest egg roll I have ever tried. Horrible. I threw it all out after a few bites. The worst chinese food in the region by far.

I went to Lucky Inn to get take out. When I opened it at Harkness and tasted it, I was immediately turned off and concluded it to be the very worst Chinese food I’d ever had. The egg roll was so dry, I threw it out. The rice was so laden with soy sauce, I threw that out too. The lady that waited on my was pushy and rude. I will never return to Lucky Inn!

For non fine dining Chinese, this place knocks it out of the park. The restaurant is clean and the portions are large. Everything was cooked to perfection. The spare ribs were meaty, not fatty. The won ton soup was delightful and the pupu platter was astronomical in size with perfectly battered and fried tastings. The waitress even set the mood with a little flame dancing fire in the middle of our platter. I would definitely return.

Food was not what I would call good Asian food. Fried Rice as a dark brown so I thought it was going to have tons of flavor… none very bland. We order two beef dishes –weird texture to the meat. Steer clear if you are looking for great food!

Great food great drinks!!! Best boneless spare ribs ever and great prices. I have been going here for years, and will continue to. If you go, I recommend the volcano drink, it’s a fun sharer.

The garlic green beans I had last night were perhaps the best garlic green beans I ever had. The best, Jerry, the best. My rice was bright white in color, like white on rice. I don’t know why the other reviewer’s rice was black. Mine wasn’t black. Besides, even if it were soy sauce, big deal. Soy sauce is to the Chinese what ketchup is to Americans. Go to China and you’ll see what I mean. If my one dish is any indication of their other dishes, then I have no qualms returning again.

I couldn’t disagree more with the other reviewer on Lucky Inn except for the part about the time warp. Going to this restaurant is like going back to the heyday of 70’s chinese, but in a good way. This is the Chinese food of my youth, when Tiki mugs and Pu Pu Platter were the makings of a night on the town. If you are going for décor, don’t. If you are going for old school chicken fingers, amazing boneless ribs and some of the best Egg Fu Yung you will ever eat, go now. I also have to admit, I love the brown rice, it actually makes me disappointed now when I visit another Chinese place that has the inferior version. If you are looking for lunch in the area, you will not find a better value than their lunch specials. Go to Lucky Inn and embrace the brown rice, you will not regret it.

I love this restaurant. I have been coming here since it opened and I have turned many people onto it. The food at Lucky Inn is different from all the other cookie cutter Chinese restaurants in the area. Their sweet and sour sauce is not that nasty red gook you get from any other restaurant, but thick and amber colored. It is wonderful. The fried rice is indeed dark in color — not black, but again it is because Lucky Inn serves slightly different and BETTER Chinese food than any other. I have never tried anything I did not like and their crispy noodles are awesome. You can’t stop eating them. The only bad point is that they are a little on the expensive side, but it is totally worth it. However, their combo plates are an excellent portion and a great value. They also have lunch specials everyday for less than 5 dollars and the servings are huge! Everyone should definitely check out this restaurant.

I don’t know why I bother to review restaurants in this part of the state. I keep expecting to find a gem, but never do. It’s like southeastern CT is in some weird time warp. How can you screw up basic Americanized Chinese food? Its just not possible. Or is it? I guess it is because this place is BAD. We went to dinner with my in-laws who seem to eat here quite a bit. My husband tells me that whatever I do, do not order rice. I have no clue what he is talking about so I order rice. The rice comes out and it is JETBLACK. Ewww. It is basically rice coated in soy sauce. Yuck. Why on earth would they coat rice in soy sauce. Yuck!!!
