This winery is not closed — please see their website. They are just closed for the winter and will reopen in Spring 2016.

My husband and I went today, 12÷4÷15 and found the vineyard closed. It appears they are selling it. So, for now, no wines or tastings. We were here last June and enjoyed their traminette on the patio, which is a pretty spot though the winery itself looks like a home and doesn’t have too ambient a feel to it.

Loudoun is a nice place that makes you wish you liked them better. Neither the tasting room or wine is exactly impressive, but my service has always been good, and I enjoy the views. They have the advantage — or disadvantage — of being in the middle of a winery-highway, so competition must be intense. I visited to take advantage of a deal I wish never happens; they are closing in a few weeks! So a toast to you, Loudoun Valley; I’ll miss you all the same.

The wines were terrible, the view was really nice, the taster we had was really nice and attentive. The weather was really nice and the drive in was very nice. We did the tasting and I had a hard time finishing the small pours. All of the wines were so incredibly sweet, it made my mouth hurt. the only way I can describe them are sweet tart sweet. One of the tastings was for a red they use in sangria. It was served chilled and just tasted odd. I would definitely go another winery before going to this one. There are much better ones out there. The person conducting the tasting said that they don’t grow their own grapes there anymore either. The crop got a fungus and it got into the soil.

The tasting room was musty smelling upon entry. The wines all had a vinegar-like taste. The pourer/winemaker was very nice, but the wine was awful. Good intentions but poor execution. We will not be back.

Based on the other reviews, you either love this winery, or you hate it. Unfortunately, my experience is with the latter. My boyfriend and I went on a winter day and the winery was empty. The winemaker and a staffer were giving the tastings and they were not very friendly. I remember feeling a bit awkward, because we were the only ones there and they were hardly talking to us. The wines were all way too sweet for my liking.

We really enjoyed this vineyard and tasting. Not sure why it’s not rated higher? Good wine, great staff and a nice atmosphere. We will be back!

I loved this place, it had two very comfy armchairs by an open wood fire. Bliss for me to relax in as the two(now rather tipsy) ladies tasted another set of wines. They also had warmed Brie to help to control the alcohol a little… Stunning views, cozy atmosphere, good food & wines a plenty. They had a great deal on wines if you join their club. You really couldn’t beat them on price or quality.

We stopped in for a tasting and enjoyed the views of the valley and hills while outside. The inside isn’t quite as appealing, as it’s a very simple, converted house, which doesn’t even have the typical historic qualities many tasting rooms seems to have. But the staff was VERY friendly and appreciative of our visit. They instantly greeted us and were very helpful and knowledgeable(and if they didn’t know, they honestly wanted to find an answer). Their wines were not quite to our liking, but they were far from bad. We would come back in a couple years to try them again with hopes the wines are a little more to our liking.

One of my favorite wineries in Loudoun County. The staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. My husband and I love the wines, especially Rt 9 Red and the Traminette, and feel they are priced very well. The views are gorgeous and we love the pet friendly, child friendly atmosphere. I always look for a winery that lets us bring our own picnic and Loudoun Valley allows them both outside and inside their tasting room… the latter I have found to be rare. In addition they offer some«snack» platters with cheese, fruit, bread, etc. Picnic tables on the lawn and a deck offer areas to hang out outside when the weather is nice, while there are tables inside if the weather is bad. Live music on the weekends and fun events like their annual Easter Egg Hunt are added bonuses. I will admit, the tasting room could use some updating, but this is clearly a «mom and«pop» vineyard that doesn’t have the big money behind it that is becoming more and more prevalent in the area. Definitely a must try!

Hmmm. Gosh, I don’t know what to say! The owners are very, very, very nice people. Bree is young and passionate about wine making. It seems she bought a run down vineyard and with time will revitalize the soil and vines to make some fantastic wine. Some of the wine, currently, is not yet fantastic. I recommend a tasting to see what is drinkable for your taste. And do try them again, because I really do think they will continue to improve this vineyard with a little time. Their employees are kind and welcoming and they have a great outdoor sitting area.

The people there were very nice and so is the scenery. Our experience a few weekends ago was hamstrung by a series of party buses. I think the concept is great, by the way, but 2 full size buses and two limo buses is going to create havoc. I didn’t even attempt a tasting because of the mob scene. After the buses cleared out we got some wine and food. The wine was nothing to write home about and one order of meatballs sliders came with a garnish of BMSB. And that pretty much topped it off. I would seriously reconsider my party bus schedule/policy for a better overall experience.

Based on other positive reviews this place must be hit or miss. The atmosphere was great, sunny and inviting with live music to boot. The employees were very personable. However, this is literally the worst wine I’ve ever had. Ever. Every wine had undertones of vinegar. One was so vinegary I poured it out immediately. Their port-like wine smelled exactly like nail polish remover so I didn’t even try it. I pointed this out to the taster who agreed that it smelled like nail polish but then tried to make an excuse that it didn’t taste exactly like that and we all have our own ‘preferences.’ The wine went bad, I’m sure it happens, but don’t try to excuse it!

Q: What did the egg say to the boiling water? A: «It might take me a while to get hard. I just got laid.» And that’s what you can expect from the pourers at Loudoun Valley Vineyards, specifically a bad-ass chick named Stacy. The wine, which is obviously important, is good. Not great, but good. The reds are far superior to the whites(The viogner tasted, sadly, nothing like viogner), with the exception of the Traminette, which was shockingly good, given that I hate Gewürztraminer like a fat kid hates carrots. We also hadn’t eaten all day, so we ordered pretty much everything on the app menu. The sliders were epic. We took the leftover spinach dip home in a solo cup because we couldn’t stand to see it thrown away. But back to Stacy. She talked knowledgeably about the wine, was a fantastic hostess, took care of easily 40 people all on her own, and told jokes the whole time. When I tried to tip her personally, she responded«No. Review me on Unilocal!instead.» Wish granted, Stacy. But I gave you my money anyway when you weren’t looking.

I’m rather shocked to see the mediocre overall rating Loudoun Valley has received. I was there last month for a bachelorette party with 16 other people on a wine tasting tour, and this was mine and the collective group’s favorite location of the day. We were seated on the patio under some large sun umbrellas, given stemless wine glasses, and introduced to wine after wine by the most personable, courteous…(what do i call her???) employee(??). she introduced each wine with just enough information regarding the grapes, vintage, and make before suggesting complimentary pairings. the wine itself is nothing special. and more often than not, the wine is rather sweet. but when i go to a tasting, i’m not necessarily looking to be blown away by the options if i want a fantastic wine, i’ll go to a wine shop and choose to my heart and wallet’s content. at a vineyard, i seek good service and ambience, and loudon valley hits those two nails on the head. w/that said, i’d like to note that I did buy a bottle of the route 9!

Great experience! This was our last stop on a wine tour for a bachelorette party weekend. There were 17 of us and this was by far the best stop. This was the only spot on the tour when anyone from our group bought a bottle of wine(too bad I was traveling on a plane the next day…) Lindsay D’s review says it all! «The views were fantastic, the pours were generous, and the vibe was so comfortable and relaxing». The staff was also super friendly and attentive. The woman hosting our wine tasting really put the whole experience over the top. She was full of energy and passion for the wines. Also, this was the only stop that let us keep our glasses. WIN! I would definitely recommend this spot for others. Just make sure to organize /reserve in advance.

I went on a bachelorette wine tasting tour in VA this past weekend and we all agreed that this site was by far the best experience! There were about 17 of us. The views were fantastic, the pours were generous, and the vibe was so comfortable and relaxing — from the personable guitar player who serenaded our group to the FANTASTIC woman in pigtails(I so wish I could remember her name) who walked us through our wines with such personality and pizzazz we couldn’t help but want to take her home with us. She obviously loved the wines and interacting with us, giving advice on pairings and situations for drinking each one. We brought in some snacks and took in the experience. The only reason I wouldn’t give it all 5 stars is actually the wine. I wasn’t crazy about it — almost all of it being super sweet. I did purchase a bottle of their sexy Route 9 at the end as it was one of my favorite reds of the day.

One star added for friendly and attentive staff. Not for the wine though. Wine tasting is subjective, this is true. But that having been said, all in my party of three(serious wine enthusiasts) found the wines to be underwhelming. Several were quite sweet while others had distinct flavors of vinegar and/or eucalyptus. I wish the winery the best but could not in good faith advise a stop, at least not yet.

This shite belongs in a salad, not a glass. I’m a little preturbed that a winery would have the nerve or ignorance to bottle this. But I’m reminded that opening a winery takes money, not experience. On the bright side our Steelers fan server was a trip and it’s extra star is for one thing only — it’s educational. Along with spending an afternoon with grocery store booty that reflects the major notes in wine(blackcurrant and berry jams, chocolate, tobacco, etc.) It’s important to know what wine tastes like when it turns, this is the winery you go to to find out what wine done wrong tastes like. Now I know, and you too can sample with confidence any restaurant wine knowing what to look for. So the next time you taste vinegar or read of «notes of olive»? You send it back, or run. If you like rubbernecking car crashes as well as the best, then by all means go.

The service was nice, but the wines tasted like vinegar. It’s also alarmingly close to a housing development which really detracts from the«wine tasting» experience. I probably wouldn’t recommend coming here — there are a few(albeit marginally) better places in the area worth checking out.
